I have tried a lot of poke places; I crave poke often. Some places just don't get it right, like they put too much rice and too little fish, or the portion is too small, or whatever else...but Poke Rainbow definitely satisfies my poke cravings! Not only is the food flavorful, the portion size great for the price, and the fish to rice ratio perfect for me, they also have attentive and welcoming staff! I used to only stick with salmon when it comes to raw fish, but per the manager's suggestion, I tried yellowtail and it blew my mind. So buttery and fresh. The portion pretty big, sometimes I even have leftovers for the next day--which idk if that is safe but a risk I willingly take nonetheless--and it still tastes great :) Just writing this review makes me want more of their poke lol. This place is also aesthetically pleasing. Very hip, the lowbrow surfboard was particularly striking. They also sell a variety of Japanese snacks and drinks, which is very fitting. My wife and I were super excited when a poke restaurant was opening in the Riviera -- and it has exceeded our expectations and beyond! We have eaten here at least a few dozen times since it has opened, and it has become one of our favorite restaurants for a quick, healthy, and fresh lunch or dinner. First, and most importantly, the food is very fresh -- and that is vital in eating poke. Every time we have eaten there our poke fish has been delicious and tasty. My wife and I love the salmon and yellowtail, and shrimp and octopus is fantastic, too. Moreover, the rice, greens, and toppings are also super fresh, too, and it is easy to taste the difference in comparison to other poke places and restaurants more broadly. And, as others have noted, the staff does not skimp on helpings unlike other poke places, either! Second, the menu selection is excellent and noteworthy, too. From the wide array of fish to having brown rice to base options like kale (my favorite), you really have the option to customize your bowl as you want it. They have a variety of sauces, too, and again, the staff make your poke bowl with a lot of care and it makes all the difference. For someone like me who eats very healthy, I appreciate the opportunity to make my bowl as I see fit. Finally, as mentioned above, the staff is always friendly and carefully crafts each bowl. They are considerate and patient, and owner and his family really do a wonderful job to make this an establishment that cares about its customers and prioritizes creating a friendly atmosphere. It's refreshing to see a new restaurant in the Riviera with quality food and service! It's a standard poke restaurant wherein you order at the counter and you see your bowl made in front of you. The salmon I ordered was fresh and the prices are more reasonable compared to other local poke joints in the area. The people behind the counter are accommodating and know their menu well: they'll explain any ingredients you have questions about. Also, there's always at least three people working behind the counter, so it's unlikely you'll wait long even with a line. The inside of the place is really clean and hip, it's honestly perfect for teens or young adults to hang out or grab a quick bite. You can tell the owner was thoughtful about the interior decor to make the restaurant feel welcoming. Even their playlist is on point. The concept is a base of rice or greens topped with proteins (ahi, salmon, scallop, etc.) and lots of yummy sides, sauces, and toppings. We also love their coconut water!! We feel fantastic after a meal! It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but they are extremely helpful and let you know your options. They also can cook the fish if you prefer. My boyfriend and I are now addicted and crave Poke Rainbow. It is a delicious and healthy choice. We enjoy walking our doodle and stopping for a bite. I love poke. It's one of my favorite things, but most of these places are mediocre at best. This one is really, really good. Pros: Really delicious with good size fish chunks. Some places make their fish so small it's mushy by the end. The fish is fresh and they don't skimp on the ingredients. Some things like avocado are extra, but I expected that. It's a cool shop in the Riviera Village that's clean with tables that actually balance ;) Small Cons: in the words of my wife "now you're just nitpicking!" The containers they use are kind of difficult to eat out of due to their shape and the chopsticks are the cheaper ones that splinter. I prefer the bowls and slightly fancier chopsticks that Poke Me over the hill uses. I know...I know...I'm boujee. They also don't have a self serve area for condiments. Not a huge deal, just less convenient than...yep, you guessed it, Poke Me. All-in-all it's a good place and we'll definitely be back read more

BUT - please change your Spicy Tuna Seasoning Recipe. Pouring Kikkoman Poke Sauce over the chopped tuna and no other seasoning, is not the answer. I recognize it because I bought a half gallon bottle of that at Smart & Final a while back, tried it once and threw the rest of the bottle away, awful. It is just spicy in a very 'no taste' way. If you insist on it, have it be optional. So peeps if you like spicy tuna like I do, skip it at Rainbow Poke and order the salmon instead. read more

Stumbled upon Poke Rainbow by chance while I was riding around town to get some exercise. I placed my order by phone... Large Poke Bowl, with brown rice base. I ordered a small with a half rice and half salad base, salmon, and topped it off with seaweed salad, krab salad, pineapple, cucumber, edamame, nori, furikake, and sesame seeds. It all tasted amazing, honestly. Sayaka was the one who took my order and was very nice :) I also got to meet the owner and he was a great conversationalist, has an awesome personality! I used to come here a couple years ago and loved it. I recently came back while on my lunch break and was extremely disappointed in the service/pricing. When I came in there were no other customers, and only one young man working behind the counter. He asked me if he could finish the pick up orders before taking my order so I said that's fine, being in the food service business myself and understanding how stressful online orders can get. After charging me $18.99 for a small (seems very overpriced for the smallest size but I understand that detail isn't his fault), he dropped the bowl on the ground. It didn't open and spill out, so he just placed the contents into another bowl. Having worked in food service for many years, personally, I would have apologized and made a new bowl, especially considering the price customers are paying for it. I understand it gets busy and people make mistakes. But the combination of waiting for other orders to be finished and paying for an almost $20 small bowl that was on the ground, it just made me really sad. read more

The food was SUPER delicious and they offer a variety of protein choices! Their sauces are so delicious & you get a great portion size for your to go orders. They require you to fill out a form and then pay for your food so it's easier to complete your order and it makes room for less contact during this pandemic! Super smart. So my review is based off a few factors. First, the food here is tasty! They offer a good selection of fish and topping, all with a pretty good portion size. The service I experienced left much to be desired. During the pandemic they are having customers fill out a form to order. This is a good idea but they are taking way too long. We ordered two bowls today and our order took 25 minutes. There was only other one in person order in front of us and a couple door dash orders. Poke is meant to be served quickly, considering you're just scooping base, protein and toppings into a bowl... Second, we selected a combination of sauces. They were out of sweet chili sauce, which is not an issue, however instead of letting the customer know they didnt mention anything. Rather, when we returned to ask they just said "we are out of that sauce". Why wouldn't you let me know so I could select another? I'm hoping the service was just an isolated event because as I mentioned, the food is good. I'll try them again and update the review if better read more

I just did a 44mi bike along from Torrance beach to Will Rogers State beach. Upon leaving Torrance beach, I had cravings for some Japanese food. This place filled just that. I ordered the small size. I'm so excited to have a healthy but fast high protein option in the Riviera! I finally stopped by for the first time today and wow am I glad I did! I haven't even finished my bowl and had to review it it's so good. I'm a huge fresh raw fish snob and can't stand when a place counts on their sauce to hide poor quality fish. This place, and the owner, clearly take a huge amount of pride in what they serve - it's spectacular. There was a big selection of fish choices including those you don't often see at a poke spot due to cost- yellowtail, albacore, unagi, octopus, and scallops, in addition to the usual tunas and salmons. They also had tamago and tofu for the vegetarian/vegan crowd. I got scallop, salmon and tuna. The fish was fresh, not previously frozen (you can tell as the tuna was a soft pink not bright pink) the scallops were buttery, and the salmon was nicely marbled. The selection of sides and toppings was huge and they also were delicious and fresh. As an added bonus, the pricing is less than any chain poke place, while the quality was exponentially better. I'm a big supporter of local family owned business and I have to say I'm sold and will be back again and again. read more
