Very solid poke place on Lake that's also a boba shop. I've been coming here for a while now and the food has always been pretty solid. I think the sauces could be on the light side so I make up for that by combing 3-4 sauces when I order. The service here is great. Our questions are answered and the server was very helpful. We also tried the rice ball but in my opinion it was on the blend side and pretty rice-y for a $4 rice ball. All in all I'm glad to have a solid poke place on Lake! read more

I was pretty disappointed. I ordered a poke bowl and a drink called the Good Kitty (lychee apple green tea). Although the fish in my poke bowl was fresh and the portion size was decent, my poke bowl was ruined because the rice was mushy/overcooked, and too warm for my liking. However, I did enjoy the Good Kitty (lychee apple green tea). I could taste the green tea flavor and they have other unique flavor combinations as well. The service was slow when I went during lunch time. Two customers even left the line from waiting too long. There were only two staff members working behind the counter. Very, very, very limited selection!! $13 for medium bowl (3 protien scoops). FYI their imitation crab meat is is considered a protien!! Most poke store have imitation crab meat for FREE as a side topping! Take a look at my photos... my bowl is not even full. I'm disappointed!! I want a refund. Also, they don't mix the fish with the sauce, just drizzle it on top. My original go-to poke shop weighs out their protien so everything I get the same amount. FOOD: To be honest, this place was pretty overpriced for the portion that they give. I do understand that this place is in Pasadena, however, so I guess it's not really their fault. I ordered a small bowl with salmon and tuna. The salmon and tuna were already seasoned (which I personally did not like), because it's hard to tell how fresh the fish is. I liked all their ingredients though! Very fresh. And the rice was steaming hot. It was so hot the worker asked me if it was okay if she put lettuce at the bottom of my bowl - I don't mind at all! The rice also was perfect - not too hard or mushy like some other places. DRINKS: I was able to try a drink, but their drinks do seem pretty good! Review just for the drinks! I used to frequent Flour + Tea a lot but since being back in the area, I went to the new location once. I used to get their almond chrysanthemum tea which is DELICIOUS. I noticed the menu on the board for drinks is smaller now, but on request they still had it. I highly recommend trying it. It's still a good study spot with WiFi and a big table with barstools. There was a lot of space on a weekday. Bathroom needs a key available behind register. read more

Made my own small poke bowl and it was so disappointing because they don't even mix the fish with the sauce, instead just put everything in one bowl and generously lather the sauce on top. If that's how it's going to be done, at least use a bigger container so I can mix up the poke myself. It was so difficult to eat because the small bowl itself was too small and my food was overflowing. I was craving poke so stopped by here and it was a mistake. There was no effort in it at all they simply just threw it together. I've never seen such a thing. The options are also quite limited. Craving poke after visiting Pasadena and I've tried the other spots except this one. Interesting cause the place doesn't really look like a poke place. Walked in and was greet and ordered the medium size with 3 proteins. Grab rice, salmon, tuna and spicy tuna. We had a hard time understanding each other since the glass guard was pretty dang high, I didn't get exactly what I wanted but wasn't too bother by it. Sucks that avocado was premium topping. Maybe i'm just a cheapo and other place it was complimentary. I asked for the spicy mayo and the person helping out kept on insisting to get the house sauce even though I didn't want it and eventually just caved in after going back and forth a few time and got both sauce. Quality of the fish seem to be okay wasn't the freshest, I felt like it was room temperature which aint a good thing. Spicy tuna was lacking flavor no heat more of a mush texture if anything.
