This opening was much anticipated as I work down the street and would always take a peek when I drive by! I came in the second day it was open and have been back several times since. The customer service is great! Everyone behind the counter has been very friendly and I love that they make it so easy to customize a bowl! It's essentially a poké version of Chipotle/Subway/Salata/etc. where you walk along the window and tell them everything you want on your bowl, salad or in your sushi burrito. I really appreciate that with the exception of a few (avocado, macadamia nuts), very few ingredients cost extra. After you pick your sauce, they toss everything together so I also enjoy that each bite consists of different ingredients and you get a solid bite each time. I typically opt for the ponzu fresh sauce since it's light and then get the wasabi aioli ~or~ sriracha aioli on the side. The salmon is my go to and has been very fresh every time. When all is said and done, your meal will run about $12-15 (especially if you tip a few dollars) but when you think about how much food you get here compared to some sushi rolls alone that cost you that, it is certainly worth the price and you'll be in and out in no time! read more

I'd been wanting to try a different Pokeworks location for a while, so I was very excited when they had a grand opening & BOGO bowls (!!) in Houston. There is good parking around the shop, and the interior was clean and cute. Everything was running very smoothly for the grand opening. The staff were efficient and generous with their scoops of toppings (i.e. surimi salad and seaweed salad) and fish, which I highly appreciated. I definitely felt like I was getting my money's worth in that respect. I do wish there had been some more rice in the bowl as a base, though. Pricing was good (even without the BOGO deal, which was a steal). Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this Pokeworks, and I would love to come back in the future. read more

I've tried many poke places and pokeworks is my favorite. The flavors are great and there's a lot of options for add ons. I typically order tuna or spicy tuna and the fish is fresh. My only gripe is that the rice is not consistent. If they could get this right they would be consistently great (and this would be 5 stars). I finally had my first poke burrito, it was fantastic. My kids loved their's too, and asked "how come we have never had this before?", I told them I didn't realize it was there. I got the spicy salmon and scallops, and added everything from mango to masago. I loved every bite of it, I added the garlic aioli, it was the perfect blend with all my added toppings. Was not offered an accurate timeline when they mentioned they had to make new cauliflower or compensated for my time with even a free fountain drink for waiting there for that long. This place recently opened when we first visited. The first time we had pokeworks was in the Heights location but this one pretty much tastes the same. Service was fast and the people working there are very accommodating. Sometimes I take a while to order or want to sample sauces and they were very helpful in that regard. I was next door having Subway the previous day and when I left I noticed a sign for this joint. Walked over, grabbed a menu and headed back to my office. Next day I already knew I was having this for lunch. Walked over (within walking distance-score!!!) with two of my coworkers. So many customizable options and ingredients. I had the "Poke Your Way Bowl" salad and burritos are also an option--Picked my base: sushi rice, Picked my protein: Salmon & Ahi Tuna. You can pick 3 proteins for additional charge, but the standard 2 was plenty for me. Then the magic happened, before I knew it, my bowl was full of cucumber, edamame, seaweed, kale, mango, fresh chopped jalapeno, orange slices and cilantro. Then moved on and added, avocado, yes, they charge an extra $1.50, spicy furikake, Thai chili (hot) and topped it off with wonton crisps. Somewhere between all these ingredients spicy mayo made an appearance. They have organic drinks available, but I opted for water. My total was around $12 something. I couldn't wait to sit down and bust this bowl open. Looked around and the restaurant was packed and no seating available, at least not inside. There's 2 or 3 small tables outside, but it was a Houston bipolar weather type of day and I didn't want to sit outside. Luckily a table opened up and we were able to sit. I quickly dove in but took a moment to enjoy the first bite. OMG is what I kept repeating after every spoonful of this piece of heaven. My coworkers felt the same way. So much flavor, so fresh and spicy!!! The Thai chili had my nose running so be careful not to overdo. I'm disappointed I didn't take another picture without the lid on but I was H A N G R Y...lol.
