I've been here countless times and through trial and error, I've found my perfect bowl and go-to order. Definitely get the app!! You'll get points and will be able to redeem them for a $9 voucher. Service can be super good on some days and lackluster on other days.. but overlooking the bad days because there is one female worker who is so nice and always serves me with a smile on her face!! Ordered online weeks in advance and paid 450+ tip for a family gathering. The day of, I called multiple times to confirm my order and was never able to reach anyone. Panicking, I decided to drive to the location to confirm it exists. As I walk in, I'm informed they're still working on my order because I showed up early. Ok, great at least it's open and they're working in it. Since I already drove 20 minutes to verify, I let them know I can grab it myself instead of it being delivered. They say give us 15. Walk around for 15, go back and someone else picked it up. (Assuming the delivery driver.) Everyone seemed genuinly confused, terrible communication, and apparently no one knows what a phone is. Compared to other California poke, I actually really enjoyed the poke here. The fish tasted fresh and didn't have that 'fishy' flavor. There's plenty of toppings to choose from and I always like when places offer fresh fruit in the bowl; they also have soft tofu as an optional topping which I enjoyed. The amount of fish you get per scoop isn't the greatest, but I enjoyed the quality enough to only dock one star. Would definitely come back in the future! Came here after my work out since I live nearby. Was surprised when we came at night that it was low key kinda crowded which is a good sign. The store itself has lots of seating and big tables which I appreciate cause it gives us a lot of room to eat. My girlfriend and I ordered in store and the service was amazing. I got a tuna based bowl and she got a salmon based bowl. The food itself was very fresh and they load up your bowls. The toppings were really great and they let you add a ton. The bowl was pretty packed and enough to feed 2 if you aren't super hungry. Directly placed an order through their pokeworks website on Thursday at 11:58am, was expected 12:13pm, but didn't receive until 12:30pm. When I arrived before my expected arrival time, there was a line at the order station and a line for people picking up. They had roughly 4-5 workers helping the in-person orders and ONE worker working on the online orders (which includes pokeworks, doordash, ubereats, classpass, etc) which is insanely inefficient. They should've had at least 2 people on the online orders. They didn't focus on the online orders until they cleared the entire in-person order line. The one lady working on the online order was luckily quick, organized, and nice. She didn't favor any online orders and was telling drivers that she was going by chronological order, which I appreciated. Although they could've had one more person helping with the online orders, I liked how all the workers handled the stressful situation with a speedy pace. So I highly recommend you go in-person to order, rather than through their online website if you're going during rush peak hour!!! *Edit: after reading over other online order reviews to see if anyone else had similar experiences... It looks like this is a reoccurring issue. Lesson learned.* Now as for what I ordered, I got the huli huli chicken plate & regular poke bowl. I would give this place 0 stars if I could I'm currently suffering because this place clearly doesn't know how to keep their raw fish up to safe consumption standards. I walked in yesterday 1/30 around 18:30 and felt that the inside of the restaurant was very warm. And when I got home I noticed that my fish was on the warmer side and not cold like it's supposed to be. Well it's currently 04:00 and THANKS to this place I'm suffering in my bathroom. I had a really awesome meal here at Pokeworks. They had a lot of choices in fish and toppings and sauces, which I really appreciate. I ordered on the kiosk and had my bowl assembled while waiting. Unfortunately this place is a no for me. First time trying this place for me and possibly the last. I have a short window for lunch so I placed an order online to pick up. That part is efficient, because by the time I got there, I was greeted by an employee who handed me my order. Then things went wrong from there. Make sure you remember to grab chopsticks or any utensils needed, since the brown bag given to me was stapled shut. I opened my bag to check if there are utensils, and there were not any. Once I got back to my workplace, I opened up my food, and it had the beginning smell of food starting to spoil. Not all areas of my poke bowl had it, but I am assuming it's something mixed in with the salmon. We'll see if I end up with food poisoning from the pieces I tried. There was also not enough flavoring from what I tasted, despite putting down medium level of flavoring, and the fish ingredients didn't seem fresh. Instead like I mentioned, some of the ingredients are on the verge of going bad. Guess I'll continue the hunt for a good poke place in Irvine. Edit: the next day, 11/22/24, the company reached out to me and refunded what I had paid for and cited this as "unsatisfied customer" refund. Definitely a "concerned customer" is more like it, but I appreciate the place for attempting to do the right thing. read more

I might have mentioned this in a review for another poke place, but for the most part, poke bowls are poke bowls. There are relatively little differences between varieties, and I haven't tried anything where I'd complain about freshness. So it usually comes down to portion sizes and prices. That said, Pokeworks caught me attention sufficiently with a recent addition that prompted this favorable review. (To be fair, I'm not exactly sure how recent the addition is - it may have been awhile since my last visit.) Two things: ramen and lobster. Ramen in poke bowl? It sounds weird right? Usually poke bowl goes best with sushi rice because the sauce from the poke can be complimented by the light sweetness of the slightly flavored rice, and the cold temperature of the two would match perfectly. My main complaint with most places offering only white or brown rice is that they're almost always warm. Pair that with poke - yeah, imagine warm sushi In comes the ramen option. In the case, temperature wasn't a problem because it's served cold. But would it be as absorbent of the poke sauces as rice? I was skeptical, and asked the staff for her opinion. She highly recommended it, I listened to her, and boy was I glad I did! It reminded me of the times when I lived in Hawaii and bought poke from the grocery store to mix with cold noodles made at home. A match made in heaven! As for the lobster option, the lobster wasn't raw but was an available option at no added costs so I was pleased about that. I paired it with my usual (spicy salmon) and it was awesome. Desperately wanted a healthy poke lunch and Pokeworks is close by so it was the obvious choice. Rather than use the kiosk to order and pay I asked to go through the line Chipotle-style so I could see all the toppings. The employees had no problem with that and it was a quick process. I loved the assortment of toppings and the salmon and tuna poke were very yummy and fresh. The outdoor seating area is nice and has plenty of sunny and shady spots to choose from.
