Poke burrito, anyone? Omg, so good. You can put whatever fillings and toppings you want in it. It's a poke bowl in a burrito. Wrapped perfectly, it did not disappoint. I got the spicy tuna and salmon, and they tasted well-seasoned. However, it's now $15+ for one burrito. Yikes. It's not that big unless you get a ton of toppings in it. It filled me up but not my husband. They got rid of the free miso soup with the Yelp check-in [insert sad face emoji]. The cherry-limeade is good. It's cute and clean inside. This is my go-to poke place. The fish quality here is superb and is the only place I've been to where you can ask to get it torched (seared) which I highly recommend. They have a large assortment of toppings to choose from with some highlights including: mangoes, oranges, pineapples, Thai chilies, and shredded nori. Service is quick and courteous. You can order in person, at a kiosk, or through their mobile app. Pro tip: The Pokeworks loyalty/ rewards program is top tier. You essentially get a straight 9% back and if you sign up for their email list you get further discounts like 2x points (18% back), 20% off entree, and free or discounted sides/ drinks. They have indoor seating but it can feel a bit cramped. I suggest eating right outside at the shaded shared seating area. There is an abundance of parking at this plaza. read more

I'm a little surprised to see this place gets such good reviews. I did not have a good experience here. As soon as I walked in, I was trying to stare at the monitor with the menu that kept changing slides so I couldn't figure out what I wanted to order. I know that all poke places are similar in how you order, but they all have different sizes and options for fish and toppings. I started with my usual, which was white rice as the base. I had not picked a size yet because I was trying to figure out how much protein comes with each size and the first guy moved my poke bowl to the next station. Later, I come to find out he picked my size for me. I actually wanted another size and the first guy came back to change it and got annoyed. If he had asked me to begin with, this would have avoided backtracking... I kindly asked the next worker if he could explain what my sauce options were and he just pointed to a picture! I explained to them that it was my first time and I just wanted to know my options as every poke place and sauce mixtures are different. I've never felt so lost while ordering something so simple. Fish quality was decent. Not the worst I've had but nothing I'd come back for after having such a hard time building my bowl. I wish this place had their menu choices blown up on the back wall so I had something to go based off of since the workers weren't helpful in communicating my options. If there was something... I must've missed it. The monitor with the slideshow that keeps changing is hard to follow when you're waiting for it to restart back to the main menu. read more

This place is really good. In all ways. First, the food obviously. When I go in it's usually for a pick up order or just to-go. I recommend getting the salmon teriyaki bowl. It has a lot of salmon and special sides. So, you don't just have one bowl. You can make your own bowl or just order from the menu. The service is alright. This is my downside. First time here. I ordered poke for delivery. The flavors were just what I was craving while sitting out in 87 degrees watching softball. Everything tasted fresh. I think this is the first place I found to be charging extra for the first scoop of masago, usually other places charge only the extra scoop of masago. I've been here a few times before pandemic and there was always a line out the door. I remembered the fish looking fresh and a large variety of toppings being offered here. I took hubby here recently at the beginning of the month because I was craving it again. It has been about 4 years since I was last there and the quality and service are no longer the same. The staff wasn't really helpful either. They were just kind of on their phones listening to the loud EDM playing overhead. We get that it's a slow day because of the rain..but seriously. I got the small bowl with 2 proteins and hubby got the larger bowl with 3 proteins. The salmon did not look fresh and looked as if it sat out too long. The tuna and albacore looked a bit better in color so I opted for that. Hubby got a scoop of salmon to try but did not like the texture of it at all. As for toppings, they still carried a huge variety but they charge for avocado now. Both of our bowls came out to be almost $30. Hubby's bowl had so little food that he was still hungry. My bowl was decent, but it definitely had more toppings and base than fish. I remembered when they used to give out larger scoops of fish, but that has definitely changed now. The sauces are good, and they're not the typical spicy mayo type of sauces. They have good sauces like sesame oil ones (I was craving that), ponzu, Hawaiian sauces, and many more! The fish here is good quality. It's not fishy and the soft texture is delightful. The seaweed salad, garlic chips, krab, vegetables, and all the ingredients are really tasty. I hate to write poor reviews but I was disappointed by today's delivery order. I received my food with very few toppings that I requested and received toppings that I definitely didn't put in my order. (See picture). There were so many onions in my bowl and they're so big oof. I felt that the onions changed the flavor so much. Additionally, I asked for medium sauce, and I swear there was like a drop. I've found that Pokeworks is mostly a hit, but last time I was there, was a total miss. I've eaten there maybe 5 times. The fish is fresh (doesn't have a gross fishy smell) and their drink selection is wonderful, most notably their homemade lemonades. Last time I went (and maybe just a fluke), but the ahi tuna was all grizzly. Like so many tendons I couldn't chew through the fish. Sadly, I had to keep spitting it out. I have been here twice now and have never been disappointed. I don't live in the area, but made it a point to stop here the last time I was in Irvine. Both times I ordered the poke burrito ($16) you get two scoops of your choice of protein and any add ins you like. It's basically a poke bowl wrapped up in a huge burrito. And when I say huge, it's so big and hard to finish, but we'll worth the price. The fish tastes pretty fresh and I like the add ins such as seaweed salad, krab salad, and wonton crisps. The people making the food have been very nice and answer any questions you have. When I'm back in the area I will be visiting for some food! read more

This is a decent poke place if you're in a pinch, but it's not the one I find myself coming back to anymore. I used to come here quite a bit but the quality of the fish can be hit or miss. Customer service was always super great and if you let them know the fish was not up to par, they'd take note and often make it right but I'd rather it be good the first time rather than coming back again, you know? The store has some seating but outside seating is even nicer so any time I haven't ordered takeout (which is rare), I usually sit outside and eat. The shopping center it's in has a few options for dessert for after, which is nice. I really really like that their hours are longer than most other places AND that they have such a seamless online ordering system. I can easily order and customize my bowl on the app and it'll be ready for pickup without me having to talk to anyone or deal with a line when I get there. This was my favorite part about coming to pokeworks, because it was convenient and nice when I just wanted to grab takeout and go home. This is still a solid option, especially for the area, but just know there are some days when the fish is amazing and some days when it's just okay. I will say, most days it's the former, and I love the convenience of ordering on their app. read more

I think this is one of the best or better poke places in Irvine. They have three bowl sizes instead of two that you are find at other places. Service is just OK. The counter is high, so it's hard to see the ingredients and to converse with the staff. They have these Hawaiian hot plates. Or poke bombs which are interesting. My go to for any poke spot I go to is Salmon and Ahi Tuna, this will determine if a spot is good or not. They pass the test because both of them are good! For a limited time, they're partnering with Impact Food to introduce their Plant-Based Tuna and I wanted to try it so I went today! Today, I got a Regular Poke Bowl to try and it is also delicious! It tastes familiar like Ahi Tuna, firm yet tender when you bite into it. You can taste the umami. I love that it's minimally processed and sustainable. I am not by any means vegan nor vegetarian and it is good! I think it's as good as it gets to the real thing. A regular bowl is big! I can't finish it, I usually only eat half and save the other half for later. While the poke here is good, it's not mind blowing and for that reason I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but would come if I'm in the area. They are located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of free parking in their parking lot. It's easy to find, near CVS. They are a quick service spot. Service is friendly and quick. I went today on a Friday around 4 PM and there was no wait. The inside is casual yet modern. There's a lot of inside seating and also outside seating. Outside is also casual yet modern, it's covered so you're mostly in the shade. I'd say price is affordable! You also get a lot of food. Solid poke shop with fast service and good quality fish. Poke works is located inside the 99 ranch mall on culver. The shop itself is small with few indoor seatings. There are lots of outdoor seatings since there's lots of restaurants near by. You order at the counter and pick two proteins for medium (3 for large) and then the toppings and sauces (extra for masago and avocado). I liked how they had lots of sauce options, but not a lot of protein options like other poke places I've been too. Portion is quite large for the medium, lots of toppings and rice but a little skimpy on the fish. I like how they mix the sauce in a bowl before serving so the flavor is evenly distributed. For $15, portion is good, highly recommend for a quick and filling lunch. read more

Pretty good poke place in Irvine! I was coming back from a doctor's appointment and knew I'd be in the car for at least two hours! I thought about a poke burrito but when I got there I saw that they had kale noodles. I love poke places that have noodles so I decided to get a bowl for me and for my hubby. I got his bowl with salad and mine with half kale noodles and salad. Of course it was extra for both half and half and for noodles. Was slightly disappointed with the choice of protein but got ahi tuna, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Saw albacore tuna on the menu but it wasn't there. I got the ponzu fresh sauce since the pokeworks classic had ginger in it (hate ginger), but got the sauce for my hubby. Got him tuna, salmon and spicy salmon. I saw that they had spam musubi so I grabbed the one that was packed and ready - the garlic spam. Figured it'd be easy to eat in the car. It was good but a little too garlicy for my taste. In the end, two bowls with half and half and 50 centers extra for masago, and a spam was about $40. The bowl was good and fresh. Overall I enjoyed it. Hubby enjoyed his bowl, even after the two hours it was in the car. Not a fan of all the extras and lack of varied protein but still delicious, fresh poke bowls. read more

I'm back for more! This time I tried something different. I love that they have so many options. I had a small bowl with ramen noodles and spicy tuna. It was delicious. The sauce on the tuna wasn't too spicy which is perfect for me and it went really well with the noodles. I also tries their new poke bombs and I very much enjoyed them! You get 2 with some ginger and wasabi, making them a great side order and bang for your buck. The tofu that the rice and fish sits in is pretty soft and limp but that's because it marinaded in delicious sauce. I do wish it was more of a crispy rice texture but it's not. It is however very yummy and I will slowly try them all. All the staff at this location are very nice and patient and I always feel like I can order anything I want. read more
