Went here for lunch with a few coworkers and Pokeworks didn't disappoint! Super fresh fish and a variety of sauces, I've never tried a Yuzu based sauce before, and it complimented perfectly with the ahi tuna :) Lunch rush can be a little crazy, but the service was quick, and they have a ton of space inside. Love the vibes here, but a little more expensive comparatively to other Poke places in OC. read more

First time trying! Review isn't a super colorful painting. In short, does not fulfill full orders, under seasoned soup, wrong drink, and broken burritos. Go to poke tiki instead, it's what I've gone to for poke all my time in California. I regret trying this place. I was really excited too :( I did an online order for delivery. Got the combo, with a Diet Coke, poke burrito, and miso soup. I also added a side of edemame. Burrito was fine. Broke apart at the ends, but most burritos do. Coke wasn't diet as I selected, but that's fine. The miso soup was heavily watered down with only a few tofu and no seasoning, I'd bet no more than 5 pieces. Edamame was NOT delivered, and I had to get refunded through a 3rd party for it missing. Won't be trying again :) read more

Build a poke bowl heaven! So many different options to choose from, including lobster surimi, pineapple or mango toppings, and their new black garlic aioli sauce. I'm a dedicated salmon poke bowl girl with the usual poke works classic sauce type. As expected, my bowl was delicious! I love that there are different size options. Small was plenty for me. My salmon was fresh, and all the toppings tasted fresh as well. They have many unique items such as poke bombs, chicken ramen miso soup, and tons of tempting drinks. My husband got their masubi and he said it was delicious. We both agreed we would come back next time we are in the area. I am tempted to venture out and try some of their other items. Fresh fish and consistent quality ! It's nice that they have so many semi cooked and also chicken and tofu options for anyone who might not want raw. It's always very clean inside and there's ample parking in this shopping plaza. They give good portions for their price and are consistent. They have a lot of fun drink options and spam musubi as well. I also really enjoyed their Mac salad. This is a good choice for a fresh poke bowl. I got the Half Ahi, Half Salmon bowl. The Portion: It's a perfectly sized meal for one person. I prefer poke bowls limited to only essential ingredients, but I also cant help myself from getting everything- if it is available! Pokeworks is one of those place where every ingredient that can possibly go into a bowl is available. Decent price and decent poke. When we walked in it smelled DELICIOUS. They said you can have items torched and whatever they last torched smelled deliciioous. Not sure why I didn't try my food torched after making a fuss about the scents. Their chili oil topping is also a very good chili oil! Dim sum quality chili oil imo and very crispy. Doesn't belong in poke but I got it anyways haha. I just went there tonight, and the service was really bad as well as the food. The person making the food didn't know what goes into specific bowls and had to text a coworker for help while I was waiting in line. Someone else ended up coming out after several minutes to help me. The portions of everything were comically small, the crab salad was seriously was a teaspoon sized scoop. The food itself was not very good, the poke was super chewy and I wasn't able to finish it. Definitely not worth the $18 will not be coming back. read more

First time at a pokeworks and I went with the spicy ahi bowl over mixed greens. I also grabbed Spam musubi for the first time ever, which surprised me. The bowl comes loaded with ahi tuna, cucumber, sliced onion, edamame, masago, green onion, sesame seeds, onion crisps, and shredded nori, all tossed with their spicy sauce. Everything looks fresh right away. The tuna is clean and tender, the cucumbers add a cool crunch, and the onions give it just enough bite without overpowering anything. The masago and sesame seeds add texture, and the ginger i asked for tied everything together. The spicy sauce coats everything evenly and gives the bowl some heat without drowning it. Over mixed greens, it stays light but still filling. Each bite feels balanced, nothing overpowering, nothing missing. Last-minute decision, I also ordered Spam musubi. I've seen Spam my whole life and never had the urge to try it until today. It's a thick slice of grilled Spam over seasoned rice, wrapped with seaweed. The Spam is crisp on the outside and tender inside, salty in a good way, and it works really well with the rice. Simple, comforting, and way better than I expected. Everything was really good. I enjoyed the bowl and the spam musubi, and I'm glad I finally tried it! read more

It was delivered and it was very good. The food was delicious. I ordered the three item salmon half rice half salad was delicious. I already said that, but it really was. It was more than I could eat. I added on cucumbers, corn edamame, krab and crunchy onions. I wish I had gotten those on the side if I could, but it was very delicious again I said that it was packed nicely with some sauces on the side that I asked for also, they gave me chopsticks and a fork and cannot speak of the ambience since I didn't go into the store, but overall I would order from there again or go in there and have food also they have happy hour before 5 PM and you can get it discounted read more

I think I might have just come in on an off day, but I was disappointed with this poke. There is very little rice served and the fish serving was skimpy, but boy did they drench the bowl in sauce. You can see in the photo that the rice is swimming in sauce. I would say be very vocal about how you like your poke prepared at this location depending who is your server. I opted to build my own. There are many options for protein and toppings. I appreciated that. The Serrano aioli sauce was quite good as well. My salmon was a good texture and not fishy. I also ordered a jasmine milk tea. After a sip, it just tasted like milk. They were kind and added a little more tea, but it still tasted off. I ended up throwing it away. Came here for the first time, overall a good experience. I got the 'small' bowl which consists of only one scoop of protein, choose your own base. Unlimited toppings. The person behind the counter was nice, but kinda stingy with almost all the ingredients. Felt like I should've gotten a bigger bowl. I've gone to poke places where one scoop is plenty, here the portions seemed a little stingy. Everything tastes great. I got a free garlic musubi with check in on Yelp, spicy but delicious! OK, let's break that down... Your signature Chili Peppa Chicken is great! (especially if you eat skin cuz that's where all the flavor is) ... but I'm not impressed that you charge SO MUCH for 2 chicken thighs. ONLY EVERYONE knows that chicken is VERY reasonable, and next to drumsticks... thighs are also relatively inexpensive, especially when you buy in bulk. Even more disappointed with the Garlic Shrimp Plate. If you're trying to mimic Giovanni's, please do more research. I've been making this for years and found a GREAT recipe. ALSO, just realized it says 9 pieces, I only got 6. (note photo) For $21. Seriously? This is a fast-food take out, not a 5-star restaurant and they'd use JUMBO shrimp for this price! The straw that broke the camel's back was this..... I bought two plates, so I was hoping to get a little more mac salad instead of FOUR scoops of rice total. I asked if I could swap out one scoop for mac salad instead. She told me that was NP, but it would be $2.75 additional charge. The last time I looked, pasta was close to the same price as rice, so should there really be an upcharge for this? Also, did not see any potatoes in this "mac pot salad", just mayo and pepper. SUPER basic. NOTE from previous visits: I just wasn't impressed on my two former visits because (1) your prices are overly expensive for what you get and (2) I ordered poke once, not realizing it was close to your (early) closing, but the gal scraped the bottom of the container to get me an order, not offering a smaller size or price. I get it, she's only a worker, but if you, the owner informs her that when it gets to where you don't have enough for an order, you could offer it at half price, or something.... Sure, do what you want AND it's YOUR restaurant, not mine, but compared to comparable fast food restaurants, like yourselves, I'd do some PRICE (and QUALITY) COMPARISONS if I were you. Loft - - Expensive also, but the give you TONS of food for the price. My husband and I EASILY share one meal for ~$20 L&L - - Mix plate is great. Quality is ok. Price is on point. Mama Hieu's - Chicken AND Shrimp plates are QUALITY! The chicken wings and Garlic Shrimp ARE both JUMBO! BB.Q Chicken (Korean) - Whole chicken is cut into more than 8 pcs and the way they cut it, you could easily feed a family of 4 with one whole chicken. Various flavors. Delicious! Huckleberry's - HEALTHIER version of "fried" chicken... 10 extra points for being BROASTED (always fresh, cooked to order) and DELICIOUS!! Price comparison: 8 wings, approx $30 however, please NOTE that 1 wing here has 2 edible parts: Drum & Flat is counted as ONE, so, I guess you could count that as 16 pcs for $30 KFC - - Weekly Tuesday specials. 8 pc dark only with 2 large sides & 4 biscuits $20

I've never personally eaten there as we've always just got it to go but the inside probably has 10 tables and I've always found parking, no problem. Overall, it's a solid poke spot with fresh fish, plenty of customization options, and quick service. Not the cheapest bowl you'll find, but I'd come back, especially for the salmon.

Food is served hot and fresh but definitely left me wanting more. Let me put it this way: even the cabbage fluff they put to pad the plate was minimal in size. One piece of beef in the mix plate and a piece of kalbi that was so fatty and small I was worried I was getting veal. The tragedy is that the sister location (and in all fairness it may be a separate franchise) is so much more generous with portions, it's like night and day. One meal there is almost the size of two here. The main saving grace is that the food is palatable and had no particularly off flavors. It's just for the price you really should expect more. That said it's weird that they put pickled cabbage for the fluff, which messes with the flavors a bit. Drive down that way, you'll be happy you did.

As for the coffee, they specialize in coffee and tea from different Asian countries, currently three options of beans to choose from, all with their own unique flavor. I know everyone talks about the coffee at Work in Progress, but honestly I'm here for the breakfast…read moreburrito. This thing is unreal. Easily one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in Orange County. The balance of flavors is perfect, the ingredients taste super fresh, and somehow every bite still has a little bit of everything in it. What really takes it over the top are the sauces and the pickled onions on the side. Absolute *chef's kiss*...The sauces add so much flavor without overpowering the burrito itself. I also appreciated that it didn't feel overly greasy or heavy the way breakfast burritos sometimes do. The space definitely gets crowded, especially on weekends, and finding a seat can take some patience. But honestly, grabbing a coffee and one of these burritos and hanging out for a bit is completely worth it. This is officially one of my go to breakfast spots in Costa Mesa.
