I wish I could give a 0. I almost never write reviews. 1sr of all they don't accept cash . 2nd of all they ask for a 15% automatically with zero service. I wanted to give 10% cash but it was 0 or 15%. So zero. My friend chose Dine In & put her table# & her food was left by the front door. And no one called our name. She waited 20mins. We saw the cashier girl serving multiple other ppl their food but not us. After waiting & waiting our food came out. Presentation was lovely . So excited to eat. 2 out of 3 of our bowls were saltyAF. Like literally tastes like my kidneys are shutting down. 2 sauces easily could have used 1/2 the salt they put in. The 3 out of 3rd bowl was so bland there was absolutely NO flavor what-so-ever. Good portions So after all that fucking salt. I went to go ask for 3 cups of water. This is thee most disgusting part. I hope the owner is reading this. I'm pretty sure this is against some health code. The dishwasher was doing his job, they asked him to move over. He moved they proceeded to fill up 2 big cups of dishwashing water and tried to hand it to me. When I asked if they have water from a filter water system. They looked @ me & acted so aggravated by a customers request. Will NEVER COME BACK HERE EVER AGAIN. Probably the worst poke place I've eaten out of 100s of poke bowls in my life. Wow. I was craving poke over the weekend and decided to try this place based on the reviews. I walked in and ordered at their self ordering stations. Even though they have hand sanitizer out, it would be nice if they sanitized the ordering stations more often as I noticed it wasn't super clean and you can definitely feel that when ordering at the station. The food itself was delicious. I ordered a regular poke bowl and was excited to see that I could order two scoops of crab without extra charge. The fish tasted fresh and I loved the wide variety of toppings. The seaweed salad was also included which I like because I never like spending extra for the basics that most poke places include for free. One thing that bothered me was that you can only choose one type of sauce to mix in with your poke. While you can indicate if you want more or less sauce mixed in, it was $0.75 per each extra sauce on the side. I enjoy mixing sauces together, so I felt that having one was limiting and had to spend extra to get a 2nd spicy sauce to mix in. Besides that, I had an overall pleasant experience. There's no dining in store (or even space to dine in store), but they have a lot of outdoor seating in front of the restaurant which makes up for it. read more

TLDR; Great portion size, delicious & fresh food! This was my first time having poke, and I am now obsessed! I built my own bowl with Quinoa, Ahi Tuna, a bunch of veggies and shredded nori. I added a bunch of Jalapenos for the spice since I didn't want to use any of the sauces. They all have too much sodium for my diet, haha. I hear the Pokeworks classic and Sriracha Aioli are the top sellers though. The friend I went confirmed that. Really appreciate how their website has nutrition info, although I'm a little suspicious about the numbers there since the "Classic Salt" sauce seems to not have much sodium content in spite of having salt in it! Only negative was that they were out of Albacore Tuna and Lotus Chips too. Maybe this is because it was a Sunday afternoon, but they should probably have stocked up! My bowl was perfect though. Just the right spicy, warm quinoa, and amazingly fresh tuna. A great lunch no doubt! Can't wait to go back again soon. read more

I'd pinpoint this one at about 2.40 stars. This Pokeworks on Castro St. in Mountain View is a very small space so there's no seating whatsoever except outside where I sat and was grossed out when I saw some mice run out from under some planters! I don't think that area is necessarily under the restaurants control, but it still means you had better get To-Go. I've been to this location a couple times and have not been very impressed. There's no hamachi fish and the fish portions are small. One problem that I saw in other reviews is that they have a large menu hanging from the ceiling so when they are out of certain ingredients, you don't know until you ask. Also with some of the fancy items, you might not be sure what they are or what they look like. I prefer the Poke houses where you just see and point. For flavor, they have a good selection - including sweet chili gochu, sriracha Aioli and Umami Shoyu. I tried a blend of the Fresh Ponzu and Wasabi Aioli, which turned out on the salty side. They also have 'Signature Works' Bowls with suggested lineups of fish and ingredients. Overall, there's better places for Poke... service is minimal and you just don't feel like there's good cheer here. read more

Don't mind the one-star, I actually love the poke-rittos here. I've gone to lunch here multiple times because I'm local to the area and I've also doordashed it several times! Came here Saturday night and caught some serious attitude. Pokeworks closes at 9, my friend and I walked in at 8:40. And man, did I look like a fool. I recommended my co-worker this place and was talking this place UP. And almost immediately caught some attitude. I get it, you guys close at 9. But if we're doing closing stuff at 8:40 then lock the door, lol. Don't be open... when you're closing. Two girls in front, both cleaning. I worked at a poke place in high school and I'm aware of the procedures, throw the scoops in the water basket, whatever. I do remember we should get pretty pissed management if we even did that 2 minutes before the doors were locked. So if you're doing closing procedures (wrapping food, washing scoops, using your dirty rice scoop from the sink to make our bowl) then lock the door. Turn off the lights. Turn off the open sign. My co-worked asked Miss Girl if she was having a bad day after we called her out on it. She was not having a good day. We've all worked food-service. It sucks. Her co-worker didn't even back her up. Stand up for your co-workers! Tell us that she's sorry! I don't know. Don't just stand there and let her dig herself into a hole. If you continue to work food service, that's your choice. But maybe find somewhere else to bring the attitude. I was having a great night. Now I look dumb because I'm raving about this place and they let a nepotism baby run the place. I'm assuming she must own the shop or something based on her attitude and her friend not standing up for herself. Can't believe we paid $20 for a bowl + miso soup just to catch stray bullets for no reason. New tip for pokeworks: either let your high school workers leave at 8 pm or lock the door at 8:30 since that's when you want to close so bad. I don't even want an apology. Ordering is a bummer because it's all iPad based and you can't see the ingredients before purchasing. Fish options were pretty basic, the only marinated option was the Spicy Salmon (which actually wasn't spicy). Only one choice of sauce. There was a chicken option for those of you who go to a poke place and don't like seafood. Not sure who you are! Lol! Flavor was good but because there was only one sauce option we added the complimentary sesame oil which gave our bowls a nice roasted taste. 2/12/22 I'm back. To reaffirm that after 5 years from my previous review things have only gotten worse. Today, a "large" is $16.95, and the only fish that you can get raw is tuna and salmon. And a large is literally 1/2 the size of most competitors. They gave me my food in a brown bag, but when I sat down with my kid and opened it I was FLOORED. Inside was a plastic carton the size usually used for a single cupcake. That's their "large". The fish was fine and everything tasted good, but the portion was an absolute joke. The bowl was about 80% rice, with a sad amount of seaweed salad, barely any fish, and 3 slices of ginger. In the attached photos, it looks like I ate half of the food...but nope! That's what it came like out of the box via doordash. I ordered the Poke Burrito Regular with 2 protein. Gave Pokeworks another try last night and I have to say the quality definitely changed for the better. I got pretty much exactly as the first bowl I tried, regular bowl with tuna and salmon with similar toppings. - I definitely liked the quality of fish this time. It was cut in smaller chunks and it was soft and silky compared to last time. - The rice this time was a lot better too. It wasn't mashed together into one clump and was relatively fluffy and fresh. I was rather weirded out when they carried a blue bin of freshly cooked rice and closed the lid to store it underneath the rice cookers. Not sure how long it sits there or if its proper food storage but it could be the reason why my rice wasn't that great last time. Overall, I had a good experience this time and it was a solid poke bowl that I was pretty happy with. I'd definitely come back here if i'm in the area. read more

Very efficient system, walk in, place your order on the electronic tablet by the door and wait to pickup!! The food was delicious, the selections were great and the wait at lunchtime was minimal. Salmon was pale in color and had a weird consistency, similar to smoked salmon. The tuna also had an almost cooked consistency and was on the warmer side. I'm used to fish in poke bowls being slightly chilled. [QUANTITY] For a large, I expected to get more. I've gotten a similar amount when ordering a medium at other restaurants. [SERVICE] The staff was very friendly and my food came out surprisingly fast. I'm really sad that I have to give this place a 2-star rating...the poke itself is pretty solid, but I've been disappointed with the service and overall experience several times already. I'll start with the food first - the poke is great. The fish is tasty and fresh, lots of different choices for toppings (which is always nice), and ordering is made easy through self-service. My go-to protein is Ahi Tuna, paired up with a bunch of toppings - edamame, crab salad, avocado, onions, cabbage, wonton strips, and topped off with a spicy aioli! It's nice that you have the option to make it into a burrito or salad bowl if you'd like. Moving on to one of the reasons why I'm disappointed...if you order online via Yelp, they charge extra for crab salad (which is free in-store); it sucks because this place starts getting pricey as you add up the premium toppings. Every other poke place that I've been to has free crab salad. The last time I was here, they forgot half my toppings! I had noticed they left out the avocado, so I pointed it out and then kept noticing other toppings were missing too. It just seemed like they were reluctant to fix their mistake and they kept checking their copy of my order...like I was the one who forgot to order it. If I'm going to pay extra for toppings, you bet I'm going to check and make sure it's there! Anyways, it sucks that the accuracy of the orders aren't top-notch, because I'd love to come back since the food is pretty yummy and it's convenient place to grab a quick lunch.
