I got a poke bowl today from pokeworks after a long time so wanted to leave a review. I got the regular sized bowl with spicy salmon and ahi tuna and various toppings. The taste was really good but I was surprised by how small the bowl was. I also felt the toppings weren't that generous compared to other poke places. When I get a regular bowl from go fish poke bar, I usually can't finish it one go. It's a shame because I actually enjoyed the flavor of the bowl. read more

We started ordering Pokeworks MTV since they are just across the street from our office. The first two times were quite good (albeit small portions compared to the large size we paid for). We were hoping that we could regularly order from them weekly. Unfortunately, the experience we had today was enough to bid farewell to this place forever. Here is the breakdown: -3 out of 3 chilly tofu bowls got NO TOFU (Excuse me? Why are we paying $14 for a pinch of salad?) -8 orders with 3 proteins received only 2 proteins -The Sushi rice was undercooked and inedible The straw that broke the camel's back was when one of my co-workers walked over to ask about his non-tofu Tofu bowl. Instead of receiving an apology, he got yelled at by one of the workers there; claiming that she informed about the lack of items when we picked up the order. I came here a few days ago with friends and I actually really enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of poke, and I try to avoid it. Came here because my friends love it. I was impressed that you can order from the actual employee or you can order on an iPad (I prefer IPad because I can select what I want without confusion since I'm a soft spoken person). You can pay with your credit card on the iPad too. If you have cash, you probably have to go to the regular cash register. The iPad was easy to follow and the instructions were clear. We got our food pretty quickly. There is outdoor seating if you have a pet. I got the ahi tuna/tofu and I enjoyed both. Everything tasted good and fresh. Will comeback if in the area! Staff were nice and gave a "welcome in" There are free parking garages, just make sure you look around for the signs to point you in the right direction. read more

We have been here 2-3 times since my initial review back in 2016. Unfortunately, this place continues to be inconsistent regarding the accuracy of orders. What is consistent is the length of time (15-20 mins) it takes to receive an order after placing it via the two touchpads. We came in today (8/15/19) around 7:00pm. It was not crowded when we arrived but became so a bit after we placed our order. Of the 3 items ordered (2x burritos, 1x bowl), 2 were missing many of the ingredients we assumed were available. 1. Regular Bowl - MIA were the toppings (Masago, Garlic Crisps, Lotus Chips, and Onion Crisps) 2. Burrito - MIA were the Orange slices, Wonton Crisps, and Garlic Crisps. We originally thought Edamame, Surimi Salad, and Seaweed Salad were missing too. While eating the burrito we discovered a scarce amount of Edamame. The Surimi was bunched on one end of the burrito and the Seaweed on the other end. Since they knew they were making a burrito, why couldn't they try to evenly spread the salads along the length of it? With regard to the missing items, were they out of them or did the employees just botch the items when they were assembling them? If they were out of those particular items, they should update their system so we are informed as we build our orders. In this day and age, this shouldn't be "brain surgery". Wow, this review is sounding just like my original review! This is one of the main reasons why I prefer going to Poke Bar, Poke Poke, etc. You get to see your order being created so you know if something is missing or was left out. And, the wait is not so long as it is here. So why did we go here in the first place? Well, for some reason one of my daughters likes it here. I enjoy this place because their fish is fresh and the topping selections is great. The only con's I have about this place is how tiny it is. I understand that the concept was for customers to come in and out but it becomes a problem during lunch hour. Wish there were actual seating inside, instead of outside. I was looking forward to finding shelter and having dinner in Mountain View after our visit to Alexander's Patisserie but we had to eat their delicious meals at home. This is a to-go place only, sadly. You can order at the counter or via their tablet upon walking in. A super bright and modern place and very minimalistic so if it didn't have a purpose, you won't find it there. The menu is straight-forward. This place is great because it's perfect for after the gym! You build your own bowl, burrito, or salad. I did a bowl/salad hybrid so that kept my meal very light. They sauce your fish/ protein lightly unlike some places. The staff was very patient too. I'm very indecisive on my first time anywhere. You can order at the front OR you can order at the ipad near the entrance. They have no indoor seating, so if you plan to eat outside, check the weather. It's downtown so you'll have to find parking behind the restaurants on either side of castro or in the parking garage. 1. A regular sized bowl with half rice, half salad. (One bowl probably filled me to about 90%) 2. Protein: AHI tuna and salmon 3. mix ins (that they mix together): EVERYTHING (except the ones that cost extra $) sort of. I didn't add any fruit (mango or orange) and I actually don't like Ogo Seeweed. It's a red seaweed that remind me of wavy moss so just an fyi, you might not want EVERYTHING. 4. sauce: mixed the sriracha aioli with the ponzu. But maybe just try the pokeworks classic. 5. Toppings: I got everything except wasabi 6. CRUNCHY toppings: onion crisps, garlic crisps, and sesame seeds. The crunchy things just add texture and some flavor. Just.. get all of them. What I like most about Poke Works is the thoughtfulness behind everything. They nailed the fine balance between delicate seasoning and allowing the natural flavors and textures of the ingredients to shine. The accoutrements each add their own special crunch and zing. I really liked the amazingly sweet mangoes, the blanched Kale was a great texture, not too tough, and the crispy garlic chips gave the perfect savory touch. They sous vide their seafood and keep it fresh in a refrigerated bar as they construct your bowl. There's nothing worse than opening up your bowl and realizing your seafood smells funky. I ordered a poke bowl with sous vide scallops and salmon. Half white rice half salad and most of the toppings add ins. I don't usually write reviews for poke places. I love seafood and find they can be over seasoned and not as healthy as I would like but I really enjoyed my bowl. Also, the people who work here are so friendly. Came around 1 pm on a weekday, the line was still about 15 min long from the lunch rush. But of advice, it's hard to read the big menu board from the back, but they do have small paper menus on the side. I got the spicy ponzu albacore bowl but with ahi tuna instead of albacore since I really just wanted sweet from the mango and spicy. Overall it was a really good pokebowl. The crab salad actually stuck out really well for me while the mango was not ripe enough and was still hard and not sweet. Other than that, the tuna was fine, I've def had better, but it was still an enjoyable meal overall. read more

Love that I can order online and pick up my order or go up to the iPad in store and place my order. For about $12 for a small bowl (pick build your own!), you get 2 scoops of fish (I opt for tuna and salmon) and for my base I do half and half: kale noodles and sushi rice. Love that crab salad and seaweed salad is free. They really pack all your toppings into the bowl and I can barely finish it! They do seem to always forget one or two things so if you're really counting on something to be there, double check before you leave! Last time, they forgot the mango. I ordered from Pokeworks for the first time today, and was super excited because I love poke bowls. I placed my order through DoorDash and they confirmed it at 6:41pm. I ordered a Large Custom Spicy Salmon Poke Bowl which came with 3 scoops of protein (Spicy Salmon) and add-one where I chose: sesame seeds, green onion, masago, heavy flavor of sriracha aioli, white rice, cucumber, and cabbage. When I received my order, the bowl that my poke came in was much smaller than I expected especially when I paid a premium to receive a large. My order did not have any cabbage or that many sliced cucumbers. The portion of my meal itself that I received was also extremely small, which made sense because of the lack of cucumber and cabbage. The salmon also had a different taste than I've been accustomed to. The salmon had a rubbery taste it. If they had contacted me that they were low on these items and had offered to fill the bowl 50% with white rice I would have been pleased with my order - but they didn't. I do wonder if I had ordered earlier, perhaps I would have gotten more out of what I paid - which was around $16-$18 (this is without DoorDash Fees). I'd definitely give this restaurant a second chance in the future, I'm hopeful my experience will be different if I visit and order in person! read more

So this is a new poke business that opened recently. I ordered a signature bowl from the tablet device near the entrance. It went smooth and I managed to get everything I wanted without interacting with the cashier. I sat outside and my food was automatically delivered to me by one of the employees. :D The fish tasted fresh. One thing I didn't like was the sauce. Here you can't customize what sauces you want on your fish - which is something you can do in Poke Bar. However, I won't downgrade a star because of that. Located in a pretty staple location in the Mountain View area. One of the reasons why I wanted to try Pokeworks was because I know it is popular in New York from what I've seen. It's a pretty small store, not really any seating. Customers can order on an Ipad right at the door and pay there. However, I chose to order up front with the cashier. It is on the pricier side and they dont give large portions for the protein and I would've hoped everything to be a bit more filling. They give small amounts of toppings compared to other places. I was a bit disappointed in the price that you pay, which was about $14.00 with tax. Quality is okay as well, but nothing spectacular. read more
