Eclectic poke bar in the heart of downtown Vista. A welcome addition to north county and pretty easy to find- right near Cold Stone Creamery. Menu is easy to understand- very straightforward. Good selection of proteins- the standard ahi, spicy tuna, salmon, tofu, plus there are several fish choices like scallops, yellowtail, that you don't always find at other poke spots. I opted for ahi and scallops and made mine fairly traditional with seaweed and sauces but you can add all kinds of non-traditional toppings like tangerine slices, corn, different kinds of radishes, panko/tempura; all kinds of sweet and savory. The value is great-- serving sizes are perfect. A large size with rice is filling but not leaving you stuffed. It's surprisingly easy to get in and out for a quick bite if you need to grab and go. Staff is amazing! I am a frequent customer, however I have witnessed them giving the same great customer service to every guest they serve! I had my first door dash order form there today because I am under the weather. I called the store after placing the order to ensure I got my sauces on the side and they were so incredibly polite about it. When they recognized that I was a regular I explained I wasn't feeling well and the wrote a sweet "get better" not on my receipt. My co-worker and I often visit this location for lunch. Such a generous serving and the flavor is delicious. I'm impressed by all the add-ons you can get in addition to your poki. You can customize to how you would like. I love having spicy food so the spicy sauce with my salmon and tuna over white rice and add-ones like the jalapeños hit the spot! The location is great too! It's near the theaters so it's a perfect place to spot right before you catch a movie and theirs a cupcake store right around the corner for dessert. Great experience overall! read more

Been to this location a few times now along with the location off Marron in Oceanside. I love poké so it's great to see so many of these places popping up. The times I've gone here, the place is always very clean with friendly service. Some other "build your own poke bowl" spots can get stingy with the scoops of protein but they're generous when making your bowl. They offer a wide variety of sides and toppings; all of which looked fresh. I had the small bowl which comes with a base (rice, salad or chips), 2 scoops of protein, sauce and toppings. Avocado is extra ($1.00). With the amount of toppings you can add, it's definitely plenty of food for about $9. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Poki Poki just lost me as a former loyal repeat customer. At first I loved their prices, quality, and variety of options but they have slowly declined since opening. First, they raised their prices, then they got rid of the "small bowl" option, and then they started charging for extra scoops of imitation crab meat. Now I'm being told I cannot get a scoop of imitation crab meat in place of tofu for my veggie bowl. (That exception was made for me on my last 2 trips here.) The server explained that they had been yelled at for doing that. I left without completing my order. So sad to say I will never return. read more

I love poke and I've been going to Poki Poki since they started. However, I've been becoming more and more disappointed with this place the last couple of times. They used to give you very good sized portions of the fish (like a scoop plus a few more pieces) and they never charged you extra for the imitation crab and edamame. Today when I went, i barely got the full scoops of fish, I swear they made the scoops for the crab smaller (I usually get 2 scoops and they used to fill up half my bowl. Now they barely fill a third of it), and I had to pay extra! I understand needing to charge extra (that's business), but to make the scoops of everything else smaller, too? I dunno...I'm questioning going here from now on because I just feel like I'm getting gouged now. Also, bring back the yellowtail!!!!!!! read more

I am a poke addict and LOVE this location! First timer trying the chain and was not looking to get impressed at all. Portion was hefty for $9, I could barely finish it all! Had a regular bowl with a scoop of tuna, salmon and a piece of seared ahi tuna (kind of hoping I would have got more than a piece, though...). The protein was next mixed with spicy sauce and miso - ugh it was really good! The sauce was not too overpowering like other poke places are. Very refreshing! read more

So, as silly as this may sound, this is hands down my favorite place to get food. Not only is it close to home and close to work, making it super easy to run and get food on my lunch break, but it's affordable and tasty. My issue is the consistency and cleanliness for the facility. Food wise, i've never had any issues with taste or anything like that, it's with the employees. A large bowl with the few extras i get sometimes comes out to around $15, which is usually a great value for the food you get. It's only a great value when consistency is involved, most of the staff seem to skimp out when it comes to the scoops of fish or toppings. It's gotten to the point where I know which employees to watch for. There are maybe 3 employees that do it right and will give you your money's worth, which is a bummer because some days I'll get a great amount of food for the money, and other's it's like I paid for a large bowl, but received the amount of food for a regular bowl if that. Then the cleanliness, a much shorter gripe. Every single time I've dined in, it doesn't matter who is working, the tables are always so bad! I'll rest my arm on the table, and when I lift my arm up, my skin sticks to the table quite badly. Skin, shirts, napkins, it doesn't matter what you place on the table, it'll stick. I've had napkins tear as I'm trying to pick one up, then I have to scrap it off the table, and use a different one. So I think if the tables were washed with a quality cleaner or something, and ALL of the employees give the customers their money's worth and not cheap out, then this establishment will be in good shape. read more

You start by picking a base (rice, salad or nothing), pick your fish (wide variety) and add on the yummy toppings. I've been nabbing the 2 scoop mixed bowl of rice and salad greens with yellow tail, tuna and sometimes salmon and then​ flood my bowl with seaweed salad, carrots, little orange fish eggs and fried crunchy garlic bites!!! After you have amassed a heaping bowl of goodness, you can pick a drink or try a cute MOCHI dessert! :) All in all this place is inexpensive​, fresh and fast! Gotta love that! read more

I LOVE this place - okay, I'm from New York and as far as I know, before I left to move to California, poké did not exist there. But here in California? It's everywhere! Poki Poki was the first poké experience I had and I. Was. Hooked. I'm not even kidding, I eat it four times a week now, and if my boyfriend didn't try and stop me I'd eat it twice a day. Everyday. I love the create-your-own aspect of this restaurant, the casual atmosphere, it's super quick in and out to grab on your lunch break. The immediate reason I was skeptical about a place like this was because it's fish. It's almost "sitting out" but they really do keep it perfectly cooled. This was my first time having poki and I must say I was really impressed with this location. It was great. Very clean, good servings and very tasty. My sister who was with me said it was also very good, but that other locations also have rice bowls with chicken and a lot more options. Maybe it's something they will do in the future Update: It's no longer the same. I used to come here quite often, but I've noticed this last time I came back the portions are a lot lot smaller. Also they no longer offer a military discount. The girl who rang me up was like "umm well I guess someone should post it on help" so here it is. Going to have to find a new spot. My expectations were low because being a clean eater who doesn't eat GMOs and avoids processed foods, means there's not a lot of chain & quick casual places I'll eat at. I'd looked them up and bookmarked them when they first opened and finally bit the bullet and gave them a try. I was impressed that a fish-heavy place had options for vegans that weren't after thoughts and minimalistic. The staff was super friendly and when they didn't know if the tofu they used was GMO-free or organic, went in the back to get the package for me to read. Bonus: it had the non-GMO project sticker, so the tofu was a go! They were super accommodating and ensured that any sauces were vegan, too. The bowls were huge, filling and tasty. The standard quantity of sauce was a little too much for my taste, but now I know to ask for it on the side. I'm pretty sure we'll be back. read more

Reasonably priced, fresh, and perfect for us- the mild sauce was a little spicy (for me), but perfect for kiddo since he is a fan of spicy. We shared a large with crab meat, tuna, and salmon- fruit options include tangerine and pineapple(!) - a nice change from mango, which is our usual fruit option... Terrible experience at this location. The one in Oceanside is amazing, this one is AWFUL. Got a large bowl with shrimp and asked for more because she barely even gave me any shrimp when I was paying for a large size. She said it would be $2 extra for "more protein." They are extremely stingy. Also put way too much sauce (I asked for my bowl with spring mix) and the amount of sauce wilted the lettuce so it wasn't even edible.
