    Soggy oiled fries
    George G.

The star is very friendly we love this franchise. But this location got it wrong. Chicken nuggets are very flavorful. Unfortunately when I received the French fries, they were soaked in oil.. I returned it I was so grossed out. They didn't even try to rectify it. Save your money

I came to this location because of its proximity to the train station. Plus I'd never visited it. It's a smaller space with some seating on the main floor, but it seems to have more seating upstairs. The staff was very friendly and service was prompt, but receiving your food is a different story. After waiting a little over 15 minutes, it was still room temperature. This was disappointing. My chicken itself looked a little battered, no pun intended, lol. The sides looked okay, but did not taste as such (discovered this after I had gotten home). The sticky, oversauced coleslaw was a mix of too sweet and vinegar, I tossed it away after two bites. The mac & cheese was definitely different than other locations, as its texture was incredibly mushy. Maybe I'd stop in to try a sandwich, but that's likely.

Pollo Campero - 6th Ave, New York Stopped by Pollo Campero on 6th Ave and was pleasantly surprised! They offer lots of food for a reasonable price and the seating inside is spacious and clean. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, which made the experience even better. They had great deals--the 4-piece chicken meal was priced the same as the 3-piece! The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful, and definitely the highlight. Some of the other chicken varieties were just okay in comparison, but still decent. Fries were tasty and nicely seasoned. Overall, a good spot for a quick, filling meal in a convenient location. Would come back again for the fried chicken and value deals!

    Two Piece Meal grilled

Pollo Campero offers grilled (only bone-in) and fried chicken entrees. Tried both. I prefer the grilled. Seasoned, with citrusy taste on skin, the 2-piece meal with a side and dinner roll costs around $10 but with white meat is +$1.90, so came out to around $12. Make sure to say grilled bec I was given fried at first ( I forgot to specify and also wasn't asked). Twice, there was also a little wait for the grilled. The fried bone-in chicken to me has a different flavor from other fast food fried chicken. Tasty, skin not crispy though. My family liked the classic chicken sandwich meal- fried, only with pickles, a side, around $10. Grilled wasn't an option for sandwiches. I like that the sides are not the typical fast-food options. There's fried yuca (good but some a bit fibrous), plantains, beans, rice to name a few. I like this place bec of the different sides actually. Better to get with a meal, since $4 already for a small portion. For drinks, there's also horchata (good, peanuty flavor, slightly sweet), jamaica (hibiscus), mango. Smaller size $3.30. Self-serve stations on both floors. On the app, was able to add 2 empanadas to a meal for $2. With saucy Chicken, cheese?, but will pass next time. Cholula hot sauce and ketchup on the tables. When dining in, food is brought to you and is served on a plate. Seating is available on both floors, 2nd floor has a larger area. We didn't appreciate though when an employee asked us to move from our table while waiting for our app order for another customer who ordered in-store, instead of opening up the closed section which he needed to do anyway since more customers came. Restrooms on both floors. Great location bec in Herald Square area. Will keep this place in mind as an option for a quick bite. The app is easy to use and offers rewards as well.

This place is close to my job, so I have been here a couple of times. Each time the service was quick and friendly. It has a good amount of seating upstairs and downstairs, if dining in and its clean. The drinks are self serve which is a plus. The nuggets are my favorite very tasty, maybe a little salty for some pallets. The French fries have been hit or miss. Today they were good. The house sauce taste like Mustard and BBQ mixed together its not bad. Overall I do recommend.

Nice and convenient spot to grab a quick meal before/after taking the train. Store is bright and clean. The food was fast. Chicken was moist and good. Staff was nice!

3 piece grilled Breast and fried leg and thigh / Macaroni and cheese
    Walter T.

Got a 3 mixed grill chicken breast and fried leg and thigh w/ a roll, the breast was a bit burnt from the top but still tasty enough to eat! I sat my self upstairs . They will deliver your food to you as you get assigned seat w/ a number from your server ! I would say they just remolded the entire place, so it looks really nice inside. The Mac and cheese is good . Anyway I be back . For the chicken!

$5 St Jude Refillable Cup (Limited Offer wsl).

Dropped by to get a late lunch/early supper around 4pm today. Plus, came here to get the $5 refillable plastic cup for the forever free drink offer when you buy a $5 St. Jude cup. You can get free drinks (including their in-house drinks and/or soft drinks from the fill-it-yourself soda machine) with the cup. Staff said you must bring the cup with you to get the free drink offer. This cup can be purchased at different Pollo Campero locations like Harlem, Herald Square, and Bryant Park in NYC for example. Ordered a 2-pc meal of fried chicken leg + thigh, mac & cheese for the side, and the tortilla. Probably won't get the tortilla next time because it's very dry overall like the Sahara Desert. Will go with the dinner roll instead. Very fast service from friendly staff. Ambiance wise is like your usual fast food places. Fried chicken is very juicy and flavorful without being too dry. Mac + Cheese is very cheesy and tasty in general. Pretty decently clean restroom for customers. There're wall outlets under the tables. Conveniently located by the B, D, F, M, R, W, Q, N trains.

This is one of my favorite chicken sandwich. Seasoned very well. Yucca fries and yellow sauce is delicious. Great customer service. Typical fast food ambiance. Will definitely visit again.

If you have traveled to a lot of other countries, Pollo Campero may look familiar. It is actually a fast food chain from Guatemala with 130 locations there and 400 locations worldwide. A few things set this place apart from other places. The biggest plus for me is that they offer both fried chicken and roasted chicken, and you can even mix the two in one individual meal. I tried both and they were both excellent. Admittedly, there are places with better fried chicken (like Popeye's) and better roasted chicken (most Peruvian places), but the versions of these two here are still excellent. The fried chicken is very crispy and juicy and the roasted chicken was very juicy as well. In terms of sides, they have some Latin American selections. You can get fried plantains, yuca fries, and beans. I would choose those over the standard sides that you can find anywhere like french fries, coleslaw, or mashed potatoes. For the drink, I recommend the horchata, a rice based drink that's originally from Mexico.

A mix of the grilled and fried chicken

Did not expect it to be this good! I ordered 2 orders of the 2 piece meal. I wanted to have a taste of each kind of chicken. So juicy and flavor didnt miss. The mash potatoes were ok but the mac and cheese is a star side dish. You can see all the spices added into the mac and cheese. The grilled chicken and the fried chicken had a flavor of their own and im not sure which i liked more. Def will keep ordering from here again.

one of the original Pollo Campero in the city, I recently stopped by on a rainy weekday evening .. Place was empty, upstairs dining room was closed and there was maybe 1-2 employees in the front of the house. I got a refill drink (I love their horchata) and yuca fries (free side offer in their app) which is my favorite side. Portion side was small. More expensive than other Pollo Campero's (ie vs Harlem) and higher than other chicken QSRs. Ordering on App was easy. Staff was friendly. Best sauce is their campero house (ketchup + mayo + other secret stuff). Refill soda and horchata machine.

Decent food and horchata. The horchata is a little sweet, but not too sweet. There's not really a table service, but the cashier staff was nice and friendly. Ok ambience with some pop songs. Nothing fancy. Clean space.

We walked into a bright, clean, and energetic space with a fast-paced atmosphere that reflects how popular the chain has become. Even with a line forming at the counter, the staff kept things moving efficiently, and the operation felt well organized considering the volume of customers coming through the door. The dining room has a casual, functional energy, the kind of place where the focus stays on getting a satisfying meal rather than lingering, and the open kitchen adds a layer of transparency to the process. We went with one of the tender combos, which is really the reason most people come here in the first place. The chicken tenders were juicy, freshly cooked, and had a crispy coating that held up well without feeling overly heavy. The coating had a good crunch that stayed intact through the meal, and the chicken itself was moist and tender throughout. The real standout, though, is the Cane's Sauce. It adds a tangy, peppery flavor that works perfectly with the chicken and honestly ties the entire meal together. Between the tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, it is a simple meal, but one that is executed consistently well. The toast is buttery and soft, and the fries are solid enough to hold their own alongside the main event. One thing we have noticed is that the chicken can occasionally feel a little greasy depending on the visit, especially if you are ordering a larger combo. For some people that may not be an issue at all, while others might find it sits a bit heavy afterward. That has varied from visit to visit, but it is worth mentioning because the meal is definitely on the richer side compared to some other fast food chicken options. The coleslaw provides a lighter contrast, though it is a fairly standard version of the side and does not stand out the way the chicken and sauce do. The staff during our visit were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained. Food came out quickly, and despite the limited menu, there is something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing one thing rather than trying to offer dozens of different options. The simplicity of the menu makes the decision process easy, and the consistency of the meal across visits is a big part of the appeal. Raising Cane's delivers a satisfying chicken tender meal with quality chicken, a great signature sauce, and consistently solid sides. It may not be the lightest meal around, but when you are in the mood for crispy chicken tenders and a straightforward comfort-food combo, it is easy to see why so many people keep coming back. The meal is familiar, filling, and hits the right notes for what it sets out to do.

The classic crinkle-cut fries were solid, but the real sleeper hit is always that buttery, pillowy Texas toast. When you assemble the ultimate bite--chicken, sauce, toast, and a fry-- it's devine. It's fast, it's chaotic, and it's a total Times Square experience. If you're looking for a quick, comforting, and undeniably crispy late-night bite in the city, this flagship location delivers exactly what you're craving. The staff is top notch and the DJ kept the energy going!

Let me be clear: I'm not a regular KFC guy. I avoid it most of the time, but I work around here…read moreduring late hours, and options get limited fast. So I rolled the dice. And let's just say... the house won. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Wings, Fries, and the 3-sauce flight. The sandwich? Dry, old, and looking like it clocked out an hour before I arrived. The chicken itself was hard on the edges and somehow soggy in the center -- a combination I didn't even know was possible. The mayo situation looked like someone whispered the word "sauce" over the bun and walked away. The Spicy Wings were no better -- overcooked, dark, and tasted like they'd been sitting in the warmer since lunchtime. Not spicy. Not fresh. Just... tired. The fries? Burnt, cold, and absolutely done with life. They didn't even pretend to try. The only thing that saved this meal from being a total loss was the 3-sauce flight. Credit where it's due -- the sauces were actually solid. They added enough flavor and moisture to make the rest at least edible. Without them, this review would've ended a lot sooner. I get it -- it's Penn Station, it's late, everyone's hustling, and the crowd is nonstop. But even with that, freshness shouldn't be optional. Overall: If you're starving and desperate, grab the sauces and hope for the best. Otherwise? Keep walking. There are better options within the same block, even during off-hours. Go to Gardenia. Gov's Take: 2 stars One star for the sauces, one star for being open. That's the fairest I can be.
