Chicken breading flavor tasted completely unbalanced. There's one, overpowering, unpleasant ingredient that ruins the entire thing. (Pepper maybe?) Additionally, they gave me hardly any sauce. Unless specifically asked for light sauce, who in the world only wants sauce in the center of their sandwich (not even close to a full spread across to the edges) and spread so thin it's pretty much dried from the heat. It's pathetic. Their food is not cheaply priced. If corporate has instructed them to skimp on sauce that's unwise for business growth. If the employee was just feeling lazy, cmon dude people are working there butts off to earn money, they chose to spend it at the company that pays your bills, and you can really kill the freakin vibe when you suck at your job. you matter. Your job is important. Act like it. So irritated and will not be giving this place a second chance. Mac n cheese was mid but acceptable

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience. Our grilled chicken tasted burnt and was dry on the inside. The chicken was really bad. Perhaps we got a bad or old batch, but it was definitely a disappointment. We also ordered a 12 piece and we're shortly an entire piece of chicken. The sides were not all that great either. Not a fan.

I don't know if it's the childhood memories or what but I love this place. The chicken does taste good in my opinion. Only problem I have with them is the inconsistency, one day it'll be good then the next it'll be dry and gross. Their drinks selection is good, I had their mango/peach juice and it was great, not too sweet not too bland. They have great coleslaw and the rice tasted good, but was basically burnt. The roll is just a regular roll so nothing fancy there. The fries and yuca sticks were great. I would def return, maybe not cause it's THAT good but because it brings me back to my childhood.

So this place is ok, the food looks better than it taste. We ordered the 3-4 fried chicken Family meal with mashed potatoes and fries. Also ordered some camperitos they are boneless wings and came with a side of your choice we got the corn salad and they come with a sauce buffalo or some others like honey mustard. So the chicken is good has great crust but the flavor is a little different, and the fries are great. The rest was so different tasting, the original recipe is in Guatemala and this is just the generic version of it. The buffalo sauce had way to much vinegar flavor to it. The mashed potatoes were bland, chunky and tasteless no bueno. The corn salad was gross but my husband and son liked it. It had like pumpkin seeds , tomatillo , cheese and roasted corn. Sounds good but it wasn't. It's a new location so it's pretty and in a nice area. The service was awful , everyone ignored us, people didn't know what they were doing. I guess it was training day or something. This was my experience not great. But hopefully yours is better.

I don't know if it was because of a disappointing dinner at the place across the street but my family and I had to get a taste as we walked by this interesting establishment. Halfway full, hubby and I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken with sweet plantains and yucca fries. My kids had the cinnamon sticks. We enjoyed every bite of the tasty super crispy chicken and both sides. Very eager to come back and try their grilled chicken and empanadas.... And more fried chicken. Don't forget to check in for a free Latin drink. Mix the mango and guava together!

This is nothing compared to the authentic Pollo Campero in Guatemala. I suggest you go somewhere else because you'll be very disappointed.

Their unique position as one of the only Venezuelan spots in the loop becomes even more niche when one realizes that part of the menu is also Mediterranean / Middle Eastern (#1). If that's not Houston in a nutshell, I don't know what is. The place sports a casual vibe with a clean and bright interior. It's been practically empty with every visit, but I suspect the takeout game is strong here. There is limited parking in the back of the restaurant and the narrow alleyway entrance is somewhat easy to miss. Food wise, I am not disappointed. Their cheese cachapa is the stuff of dreams and includes a number of stuffings from ham to shredded chicken / beef. My vote is for their pabellón, which is a nice combination of shredded beef, black beans, and sweet plantains. For cheese lovers, the double cheese is perfectly indulgent with the sweetness of the cornmeal. The main draw for me was the arepas, which is something I missed having had so much of it back in NYC. La Pelua (shredded beef, mixed shredded cheese) is one of my go-tos, but my all-time favorite is the reina pepiada, a shredded chicken mixed with avocado topped with sprinkled salty white cheese. It's a staple in the Venezuelan arepa game and while their version is very solid, I'm just extremely thankful that it's available. Their breakfast platters are a big draw, which mainly consist of scrambled egg combos paired with arepas and various proteins. I think their yuca buñelos, tequeños, patacones, and especially their mandocas are incredibly underrated. The latter is practically dessert since it's mashed plantains with the cachapa stuffed with sugar and cheese. While they're not known for their empanadas, I do think their cazon (#2) is unique and their potato and cheese is always hearty. The shredded beef is a nice alternative to their arepas or arepitas (side) and make for an excellent snack on the go. Fans of Venezuelan cuisine who find themselves in the inner loop owe them a visit and I highly recommend calling ahead of time to ensure they have items available and to get a jump on the wait time for takeout. They are a slept on gem in the neighborhood and one that I hope sticks around for a very long time. _____________ (#1) The owners are Venezuelan and Syrian. The sweetest couple. (#2) Dogfish? It's really a mini shark.

Part of what…read morereally excited me about Mykuna is that it's from the same chef as Andes Cafe, a restaurant that closed down several years ago. They now have an outpost at Post, another food hall. I was also excited because it's Peruvian food---in my opinion, one of the most underrated cuisines out there. I ordered the lomo saltado which is a classic Peruvian dish. Take some stir fry beef in a delicious brown sauce, add white rice and fries, and there you have it. The meat was tender, the fries soaked up the saucy goodness, and the rice was, well, rice. I will say Mykuna is a little pricier than I expected. Even their soft drinks cost more than you would think. With that being said, they have Inca Cola which is a Peruvian soda. I ate half of my food and brought the rest back to work. When I was leaving work, I was walking to my car and accidentally dropped my to-go box on the concrete. The lomo saltado spilled all over the ground. What a fail on my part. We decided to go with Mykuna, which is marketed as a Latin Asian fusion restaurant. However, based on what we ended up ordering was definitely more Asian heavy. We ordered 3 items (two mains and a starter) which was plenty of food for two adults and a toddler. The salmon sashimi starter was a little underwhelming, so don't expect same level quality as a dedicated sushi restaurant. The tonkatsu ramen was a good size portion and very tasty, though will say the flavor is more on the non-traditional side. We also ordered a friend chicken dish which was a special of the day, which was def the star of the show- though I can't remember the name of it. The staff was friendly and the food took about 15min to come out, which was an appropriate wait. There is a bar directly across the way so we had a couple beers while we waited and sat outdoors on the shaded patio area. Overall we had a great time. We probably won't make a special trip to come back here, but I'd eat here again if I'm in the area.
