I'm so happy I got to finally try this, this is the only one I've seen that was a drive thru so I pulled in with the quickness. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the plantains were fire! The dinner roll was soft and dense. I don't eat Cole slaw, so I can't speak on that. However, my family ate it all up. Absolutely everything was wrong with the experience that I just had here today. There were a total of three employees on the job working. However, he would never know it. When I walked into the restaurant, there was no greeting or anybody to say hello. Two out of the three staff members were way back there behind the scenes, taking drive-through to go orders only. There was another person who was closer to the cashier area at the front of the store. However, at some point before I was able to replace my order, they walked out of the store. I have no idea where they went. I did not see them return at all. I have no idea what happened. I stood there, patiently waiting. My order was never taken. I was never even acknowledged. So, unfortunately, I have nothing to say about their food or any of what they could be fondly known for. The parking lot was pretty empty. Now I know it's because the only cars in the lot were those of the employees. Looking around the restaurant, considering dining in with my family, we noticed that there were a few tables that have been left cleaned. Trays and food were left on tables. They were not being sanitized or cleaned by anybody. I guess customers feel like the restaurants should clean up after them. This was not a good experience at all. I even walked out after the one person who was in the front of the restaurant supposedly taking orders and asked them what was going on. I received no answer. I explained to them that there was nobody here even taking orders. They had no response for me. This was an absolutely terrible experience. I will not ever die in here nor will I suggest this restaurant to anybody. This particular restaurant chain is one that has become pretty popular, at least I would say so. I don't exactly know what for. And unfortunately, I will not be able to share that with you. read more

I've been a handful of times, and a couple of experiences were frustrating .... once the drive-thru closed around 6 p.m. and I was forced to walk inside, and another time they told me there'd be a 20-minute wait for anything chicken. How can a grilled chicken place constantly run out of grilled chicken? Seems to be a problem at every Pollo Campero I have been to in L.A. and sadly this one is no exception. If you are out of grilled chicken at 5 pm on a Friday, it's going to be a long night. That said, the fried chicken is excellent and is the reason for the two stars. Plaintains are also good. Cole slaw howevet is still terrble--maybe even worse than the last time. The slaw dressing is nasty. I need to teach these folks how to make cole slaw. I could not eat it. read more

I was hoping for a place like this in my neighborhood for years and was so excited. I wanted to give this place an honest chance because i had never heard of them and the place being new, it looked nice and clean so I went 3 days in a row only to be disappointed 3 days in a row. First day, the fried chicken was so greasy that I can only taste the grease. Second day, I wanted to try the grilled chicken because it looked so good in pictures but after waiting and now stuck in drive-thru, they said their machine was down for a few hours and I didn't want the bad tasting fried chicken so I got nothing. 3rd and final day attempt to get grilled chicken and again they said their machine was down. Clearly they are not ready to open and now they lost a lifelong customer. Hopefully management will get it together. For me, its back to Atwater Village El Pollo Loco. read more

I have been waiting for over 15 minutes. I ordered online because like many of us, I am on an expedited lunch. The response from your employees is TEPID at best. They are not skilled in appeasing customers nor making the situation right. I can walk from work to this location. This will be the last time I will be coming here. First time I've ever tried Pollo Campero and it was delicious. I ordered the 3 piece meal with grilled chicken, plantains, and beans, but everything looked good, I will have to go back and try the fried chicken and sandwiches. This is a fast food restaurant but higher quality service than most-- they bring the food to your table if you're eating in, along with plates and silverware.
