Half 1/2 and 1/2 Combo Special Fried Chicken

The staff were okay, young Gen Z server--but they really need to be more attentive to customers. We never got a water refill and had a hard time getting their attention. There were only three tables occupied, so I don't understand why they weren't checking in to see if anyone needed anything. That's a basic part of being a server, providing a service. We left a minimal tip because we'll probably come back for the food, but if the service is like this again, we won't return. Also, please make sure to include essentials like napkins and chopsticks. If this were a place with a checkbox for utensils, that would be one thing--but they don't. How do you expect people to eat without them? Make it make sense please.

We made it a priority to stop here during our vacation and so glad that we did! We ordered takeout so that we wouldn't have to wait around with the kids, which worked out well because with LA traffic, it was ready by the time we arrived so we didn't need to find parking. They have very nice packaging and even though we didn't get to eat it until almost 2 hours later, it was still delicious, so I think that's a testament to how good their food is! My favorite was by far the honey garlic. It was a unique batter and seemed lighter, closer to tempura consistency! We also tried the secret sauce flavor which had a good spice level without being too overpowering. The original was good but nothing crazy special so you can probably pass on it. We also ordered a chicken mayo rice bowl, this is better if you want a portion for one person instead of ordering a half order of chicken. It is pricey - we paid $70 for everything but it's pretty comparable to other Korean fried chicken spots back home. You get a lot of food so at least the quantity is there. Also make sure to order radish on the side because it does not come with it automatically like most places!

Bb.q Chicken is a popular chain Korean fried chicken shop all over California and international. This one is located in K-town LA. There's a paid parking lot and restrooms. You can order to-go or sit down. We went on a Saturday and there was no one. The shop is modern with bright designs. There wasn't much service. Overall, ambiance and service was normal. Food We ordered small soy garlic boneless and small galbi boneless. We also ordered rose tteokbokki with cheese and some rice. The price is higher than other places with the chicken each being about $18 and the tteokbokki being $22. We loved all the dishes we chose, just wish there was more for the price. Each chicken had lots of sauce and went great with the tteokbokki. The tteokbokki is a good size to share, not spicy, and very creamy. Overall, highly recommend trying. Overall The ambiance: 3.5/5 The food: 4.5/5 The price: $$

Pretty good but can taste the oil. They got a nice crunch but quite pricey. I like that the spice is in the batter. Worth trying once and seeing for yourself if you wanna make it your go to fried chicken joint.

this is my second time trying korean fried chicken ever and i'm obsessed. we got the honey garlic flavor and it's the perfect mix of sweet and savory. the crunch on these chicken wings are soo good. we also got the rose tteokboki with cheese and the rose flavor is prominent which I love. there were rice cakes and fish cakes in rose sauce

There are so many fried chicken places in Ktown and it's difficult to compare which is best. BBQ Chicken serves up some pretty legit fried chickens. Personally I prefer the ones with BBQ sauce but the original is pretty decent. The dubokki is also quite tasty. Like many other reviews had mentioned the staff is not too friendly but it's still worth getting the chicken here.

Very busy spot in town! Impossible parking but the chicken made it worth it! Called for a phone pick up was told to pick up in 25 mins order was ready hot n fresh! Mild spicy and original 15 mins later at the hotel chicken was still crispy! Original flavor was seasoned well and the breading of the chicken was nice n crispy Mild spicy was the right hit of spice very sticky as well. Would definitely come back! Roach in the pickled radish!

If I could give 0 stars, I would! I have been going to this bbq chicken for about half a year now. I do love the food, but I've noticed the vibes have really changed. I came in on the weekend to get my usual soy garlic boneless with the pickled radish...now before I can even get into the ROACH in the pickled radish...why was one man working on a SATURDAY NIGHT. That's crazy! I had to wait a long time and didn't even want to bother him because it was a full house and clearly a bunch of drivers doing delivery. One even shoved me aside. It was too hectic. I waited longer than I feel like I would've had the night been properly staffed. Or at least someone would've let me known how long to wait. Now the roach...my concern is if this got in the pickled radish and not noticed...I'm scared to know how many roaches are actually in the damn place. I eat in ktown and this isn't typical! Idk who their pest control is but maybe they need to switch up because this is unacceptable. I don't think I can come here anymore. Bbq chicken isn't the only korean chicken spot in ktown. Management really needs to get their act together.

How many pieces are there in a medium and large wings?

    5,10

Did they get rid of the drumsticks? Their drumsticks are (or were) my favorite... 😢

    Never ever order again

Is this the same company as BB.Q chicken chain in seoul?

Pretty sure it is. They had/have a big poster for "Goblin" on the wall. They told me "Goblin" is a sponsor. And they are on KaKaoTalk.

What kind of oil do they use to fry their chicken?

I was told they use peanut oil!

Does anyone know if they use rice flour, and thus the chicken would be gluten free? I called but couldn't get a straight answer. Thank you.

I don't know for sure but i highly doubt it....

I ordered the chicken strips with fries, while my partner ordered a two-piece chicken dinner with macaroni salad and spicy rice. Although we had to wait a little while for the food, it arrived hot. We both agreed that it was some of the best fast-food fried chicken we had ever eaten. The chicken was moist and the batter was crispy. My fries were good, and my partner's macaroni salad and spicy rice were both flavorful. We especially loved the biscuit. I also couldn't help noticing that although the dining room feels like something of a relic, it is very well maintained. There were no dirty tables and no trash on the floor. I was genuinely shocked when the cashier came out to ask how everything was and whether we needed anything else. Most fast-food chains seem determined to eliminate as much human interaction as possible. Pioneer Chicken was a refreshing reminder that fast food can still be friendly, clean and satisfying. Pioneer Chicken is a winner in my book!
