The staff were okay, young Gen Z server--but they really need to be more attentive to customers. We never got a water refill and had a hard time getting their attention. There were only three tables occupied, so I don't understand why they weren't checking in to see if anyone needed anything. That's a basic part of being a server, providing a service. We made it a priority to stop here during our vacation and so glad that we did! They have very nice packaging and even though we didn't get to eat it until almost 2 hours later, it was still delicious, so I think that's a testament to how good their food is! My favorite was by far the honey garlic. It was a unique batter and seemed lighter, closer to tempura consistency! We also tried the secret sauce flavor which had a good spice level without being too overpowering. The original was good but nothing crazy special so you can probably pass on it. We also ordered a chicken mayo rice bowl, this is better if you want a portion for one person instead of ordering a half order of chicken. It is pricey - we paid $70 for everything but it's pretty comparable to other Korean fried chicken spots back home. You get a lot of food so at least the quantity is there. You can order to-go or sit down. We went on a Saturday and there was no one. The shop is modern with bright designs. There wasn't much service. Overall, ambiance and service was normal. Food We ordered small soy garlic boneless and small galbi boneless. We also ordered rose tteokbokki with cheese and some rice. The price is higher than other places with the chicken each being about $18 and the tteokbokki being $22. We loved all the dishes we chose, just wish there was more for the price. If I could give 0 stars, I would! I have been going to this bbq chicken for about half a year now. I do love the food, but I've noticed the vibes have really changed. I came in on the weekend to get my usual soy garlic boneless with the pickled radish...now before I can even get into the ROACH in the pickled radish...why was one man working on a SATURDAY NIGHT. That's crazy! I had to wait a long time and didn't even want to bother him because it was a full house and clearly a bunch of drivers doing delivery. One even shoved me aside. It was too hectic. I waited longer than I feel like I would've had the night been properly staffed. Or at least someone would've let me known how long to wait. Stole our money! Unbelievable. Ordered a large 24pc soy garlic wings take out via Hungry Panda, which was running a 15% off promotion bringing the price from $45 down to $38.25. We've had this place multiple times before and loved it over Kyochon. Got home to discover they gave us a medium with only 16pcs. Hey, could be an honest mistake, right? Happens, right? So wife and I quickly call them to sort out our options. Guess what they say? They said they base the size of the order on how much was paid, not what size was ordered. They saw we ordered a large, that we paid $38.25 which is more than the medium's normal non-promotion price of $32, and decided they would only give us a medium, not mention it during pickup, and pocket the extra money paid. What. The. Frack? Seriously. They literally argued that it didn't matter what we ordered, that the sizes and prices on Hungry Panda must be wrong and to take it up with them. For reference, the normal non-discounted prices on Hungry Panda are the same as BBQ's own menu and own online ordering system, and we only paid $38.25 because BBQ is running a 15% off promotion with Hungry Panda. Even if BBQ doesn't want to honor the promotion price for some reason, on what plane of reality do they not clarify it with the customer, recognize that the price paid is more less than what they want for a large and more than what they charge for a medium, and just silently take the extra money paid? Nothing makes sense here. This is just blatant dishonesty, and it's extremely disappointing because we've been loyal repeat customers ordering from them both on and off Hungry Panda. We have no choice but to escalate this with Hungry Panda, which hopefully will make things right, but our minds are just completely blown by the idea BBQ would see a large order and say "nah, only gonna give them a medium, keep the extra money, and hope they never notice!" The basic decency thing to do would've been to at least refund the difference, right? "Sorry, we can't give you a large for that price, we must have a misunderstanding with Hungry Panda, that's our problem, so we can refund you the difference or you can pony up some more money to get the large you wanted. What will it be?" That'd be upsetting too but at least that wouldn't be outright theft. Unfrakingbelievable. UPDATE: Hungry Panda did right by us and refunded us the difference between a large and medium (as well as taxes and such), at their own cost. When asked, Hungry Panda also couldn't tell us why the merchant BBQ handled things this way. We note that the price of the large has now been updated from $45 to $54, so that the 15% off promotion brings that back down to $45, which is the normal full price one would pay in store or if ordering off BBQ's own online ordering system. That said, at the moment, the 15% promotion discount is still a real discount off the normal full price of the small and medium sizes. It's only the large that is a wash now. read more

The packaging has open slits to allow heat to escape, so your food is still warm but also crispy. I got the combo with the original and soy garlic. Personally, I loved the soy garlic sauce but the original was just so darn crispy. I guess that's why you get the combo!! Is it pricy? A little bit, but the quality and amount of food you get is well worth it. While we finished it as only two people, we were absolutely stuffed. This could easily feed 3 folks well. I have a hard time skipping the Carbonara Ddukbokki here. It's just so creamy and delicious with a good amount of dduk in the dish and just generally a big portion. I've done a lot of the wing flavors, cheesling is bomb. But with the saucy wings, I find them to just be insanely crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. She immediately gets defensive, insisting he ordered 20 (I heard him say 10). We said sorry as it seemed to be a misunderstanding on both ends. Yet she continues to insist he ordered 20. Repeatedly. And keeps saying she said the price at the end of the call (he didn't hear this). She goes on to say they can't return it to the kitchen now that it's packed, and stands there waiting for us to pay for the 20 pieces. ?? Eventually a guy comes out, much more polite and understanding. He says they can give us the extra 10 pieces for half the price of a 10 piece order. Which is still paying extra for something we didn't even order, but he was much more receptive about the issue. Overall, the chicken here is delicious.
