That's the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars I found this place last month and I just love it! For $9 you get a half grilled chicken (healthy!) with rice and beans (which you can sub for salad-Healthy!), grilled onion and like 6 tortillas! My favorite part is their salad/ salsa bar. They offer 6 different types of salsa, Pico de Gallo cabbage salad, onions chips- all unlimited! I have been to many of thier location and the food is always fresh and tasty. WORSEEEEEE PLACE EVER. The employees are LAZY, they give you attitudes, the order is always wrong, the chicken is always raw. Last time I went I asked for 2 whole chickens and they gave me red nasty water sauce after I asked clearly that I wanted the habanero sauce. I wanted chicken, so we headed to the east side. I ordered the whole chicken meal with a side of guacamole. I expected the chicken to have a ton of flavor, but I was highly disappointed. I am very disappointed with this place. My husband and I have eaten at another location and we decided to eat at this one because we were in the area. It took 30 minutes for our order to be ready. My husband went up front to ask and they apologized for the delay. I ordered the corn tacos and my order was even more delayed than my husband's order. I asked the cashier what was the delay? I got no response. In the reviews that I read, it mentioned 16 year olds slacking off but on the contrary, it was the 16 year old who was manning the front that was the responsible employee. There were two adults in the back -- what were they doing all this time? Roberto was the employee who was the only cashier plus cleaning tables and working the drive-through. Chicken was bland and was mostly bones and skin. The charro beans were watered down, tortillas were chewy. The only good thing was the rice. The salsa bar was a mess, people were serving themselves different salsas with the same spoon mixing them all over. No one bothered wiping it down and straighten the bar. They have a chips and queso bar next to it so you can imagine how that looks, the counter full of queso and chips everywhere. I usually go to the one that's right off of Garland Road because it's close to my job and I absolutely love it the quality of the food. The service. And cleanliness. So to my surprise I saw them building one right down the street from my house I was super excited . This location on the Live Oak Street. Is absolutely atrocious. unmaintained poor cleniness . The serving area is hard we clean there's food all over the place they don't take pride and where they work or try to maintain a sanitary environment .The food doesn't seem quite as good as a Garland Road location and the service is absolutely horrible! One of my favorite things to order is the pineapple agua fresca that they sell and when I came to this location and ask for it the girl basically gave me the nastiest look and with the rudest comment just said ugh no! This place is amazing. We tried it for the first time today and all I can say is wow! We had the lunch special... 1/2 chicken, rice, beans, tortillas, and a drink for $8. The chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. The beans were some of the best I've ever had. The rice was good, but didn't knock my socks off. This is some really great chicken. The rice and beans are also delicious, the green sauce is amazing, and the tortilla chips are homemade. Like, they fry the tortillas while you wait. I usually order the half chicken meal, but I've also tried the chicken quesadillas and the chicken flautas, and both of those are winners, too. The people that work here are always super sweet. The food is very good at Regio but the employees at this location were rude, did not want to take our order, they spoke in Spanish and everyone was laughing at us when they would speak. During the whole meal we were so uncomfortable because the racism was so bad. They kept talking about us in Spanish and everyone would look at us and start laughing. Even some of the customers would look at us when they would speak, so we know they were talking about us. I urge the City of Dallas health department to do an inspection. I urge ICE to come check for Illegals. I urge Regio to address the Racism I cannot believe that Regio would condone this racism going on in their restaurants. I am a former restaurant gm and worked fast food in my younger years. I visited the Live Oak Pollo Regio location due it's proximity from my residence as well as their food being highly recommended. The purpose of this review is to shed some light on the unsanitary environment I encountered on my visit. There was a house fly infestation in the restaurant that was beyond obvious. There where a couple light traps on the wall, but they were not helping the situation. The restroom door was cracked open the entire time of my visit. The walls were damaged all over the restaurant, as were ceiling tiles. I circled the whole exterior of the building to try and find a posted health inspection grade, but was unable to find one. The flies are a sign of an underlying problem. It could be due to the infrequent cleaning of the guest area, as there were more dirty tables than clean. There was trash on the floor, and more flies gathering by the windowsill closest to the entrance. I am not sure who monitors the quality of this location, but it seems that it has been sometime since a supervisor or health inspector has paid them a visit. I am not trying to cause problems, but rather trying to avoid someone getting seriously ill. A guest could easily ingest a fly in their food, or eat food that has had direct contact with multiple flies. At least I am now aware of this issue, but I feel bad for the oblivious guests who order their food via a delivery service, or drive through. I will be returning to Pollo Regio, but not this location. read more

A fast food joint that cooks like a restaurant. The grilled chicken is delicious, marinated in fresh spices and grilled to perfection. The Caldo de Pollo is a-MA-ZinG, really tastes homemade.. My other favorite is their Hamburger, Kinda a Hamburger Torta, mesquite grilled and more flavorful than any other at much higher prices. The Beans, rice, tortillas & grilled jalapeños accompany almost every meal and they do not cut corners on these items. They make most items fresh when ordered so don't be surprised by a bit of a wait, the result will be fresh made to order deliciousness. read more

I had the opportunity of visiting El Pollo Regio yesterday after hearing all the rave. They didn't disappoint. I had read reviews about how good the pollo burrito is, so I went with that option. It comes stuffed with roasted, succulently seasoned chicken and a side of Mexican rice and refried beans. You also are given sour cream, something that looks and tastes like a creamy tomatillo sauce, pico de gallo and guacamole. The burrito is served cut in half but is pretty mammoth in size, so I had leftovers. I had been advised to watch out for chicken bones in the burrito, so I was very careful when eating it and thankfully didn't run across any. I very much enjoyed what I ordered. I think next time I'll be tempted to order a whole chicken, and then shred it to make grilled chicken salads. I was in a hurry to get home to put up Christmas decorations, so I used the drive-thru, which was very convenient. You wait a little bit, but that's because your order is custom made. I also ordered their Hibiscus Aqua Fresca which was extremely refreshing and delicious! Can't wait to go back! read more

I just left this location trying to get dinner after a long day of work and school. My first time visiting this location was 9/14/2018 I noticed the portion was smaller than the Samuel location but I tried giving them another chance. I checked my food before I left the drive thru window and realized there was only 3pc of half chicken dinner. I requested a refund and the employee stated I can't have a refund if I touched the food then proceded to get the manager. I went inside the building to speak with the manager. I asked the manager why the employee was rude and hostile. I proceeded to question the manager is the employee a man or women so I can refer to the employee by his/her gender. That's where I "messed" up. The employee got loud and upset and begin to call me B**** and invited me outside the restaurant to fight. This is unacceptable. All I wanted was to get food and go home considering that I'm tired from a long day. Employees should be cautious of approaching customers in this manner because it's dangerous. What if I was a violent person? What if I had a gun in the car and as ready to let go of some rounds. Their life could've been ended in a flash because of an unsatisfied customer. You have to choose your battles wisely is all I'm saying and this behavior was so unprofessional. I'm going to pray for that employee that clearly has some deep rooted self esteem/self image issues. read more
