The roasted chicken is delicious and flavorful! The rice is actually decent and never had a bad experience with them. Now the beans, they are packed with flavors but when you go on a bad day, you'll know. The beans will taste like straight up baking soda because they add that to old beans to keep from getting spoiled or smelling bad. You can literally feed a family of 4-6 with a whole chicken meal. A whole chicken with rice, beans, grilled onion, grilled jalapeño, tortillas & salsa for under $20! The barbacoa tacos are yummy too. I have also tried the torta (beef sandwich) and it was surprisingly good. The CON: Every time I had visited a Pollo Regio & ordered the half chicken meal, I have never been offered a drink nor did I realize it came with one. One day I pulled up to the window and the cashier told me that my meal came with a large drink. To my surprise, I had been robbed my large drink the thousands of other times I've gone to order this meal! WOW! So please, make sure you get your drink when you order a # from the menu. Real Mexican fast food! Finally a place in Texas that has carne asada. Nothing fancy, just good, authentic Mexican food. No TexMex here. Nice clean restaurant. Drive thru, too. Staff are nice and prompt. I had the papa asada, she had the carne asada plate. After a trip to the massive salsa bar, we quickly devoured our meal. Delicious. I had lunch here today. This place is really clean inside and the staff was really nice. If your looking for great food at a reasonable price you need to check this place out. I was skeptical about good tasting food coming out of this place but I was proven wrong. Don't get me wrong .....I'm not saying it's real Mexican food either but USMNT's pretty darn good. The reason what I only gave them 2 stars is because of appearance and service. I have visited this particular location twice and never did I see anyone walking the front guest lobby picking up paper napkins that lazy customers leave behind or perhaps rearranging the chair back to where they belong. Also, the salsa bar ( ANY AND ALL salsa bars ) could use a little attention every 1/2 hour or so. As for the service goes..... never did I see a smiling face. I had to ask the cashier to raise her voice because I couldn't hear what she was telling me. The second time I visited this place I ordered one combo and dessert. It took 22 minutes for the first try. Two additional orders were placed after me and those people got there's before I did. ( they gave mine away to someone on the drive-thru ) Then my dessert was burnt so I asked them to replace it. I didn't want anything free after waiting for over 1/2 hour but I did expect an apology. Instead I got my bag and was asked to check it to see if it was to my liking!!!! What I can only assume was the afternoon "Manager" was just walking back and forth behind the counter and eating something. For sure no customer service knowledge nor respect. This is the slowest location I've ever been to. No other location is like this one. I easily waited in the drive through line for 30 min tonight, before finally giving up and leaving. The line was not moving and people were actually parking to go inside to see what was wrong. There were no explanations or apologies at the window, just employees who seemed oblivious to how inconvenient the wait and service is. I HATE to give negative reviews but this is the 3rd time this has happened. Just ridiculous at this point, it clearly wasn't a fluke; this is just their normal customer service! Terrible I was attacked by flies in the drive through and when I got to the window the kid at the window was like "yeah we have a fly problem by the trash can" wtf they were biting me while I was trying to pay for my food and the kid couldn't get my order right so the flies kept coming in my car and biting me I though I was gonna go insane if I had to repeat my order one more time I was just gonna leave. Absolutely horrible service. Came here Thursday night at 7:12 and was the only car in the drive thru. I ordered the tacos, a quesadilla and a horchata. I got to the window and the girl gives me a blank stare then said, "you ordered a whole chicken right?". Wtf no!! Had to place my whole order again which took another two minutes because the girl had no idea how to work the register and she was playing around with another co worker. Almost 18 minutes later in the DRIVE THRU I finally got my food. Like I said, only car there and one guy ordering inside. She hands me the bag and I look at her to which she responds, "is that it?". NO!!!! Where's the horchata?! She says oh. Goes away then comes back and says what size was it? So for a THIRD time I tell her LARGE. I waited another 6 minutes for it because, we ran out and had to make more. HORRIBLE!!! read more

Not so friendly customer service the line is usually long I can understand why the food is really great you wait in line order at the menu board and then when you get all way back up to the window they ask you what your order again they always forget and all I can say is the food is great and I'll keep coming back maybe not to this one read more

We stopped for dinner the other night and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! The carne asada plate was fantastic with no chili or cheese sauce in sight. Just like all Pollo Regio locations, food is great. Unfortunately, it is not enough to make up for the horrible customer service. Been there several times hoping to have a more descent experience than the time before but it only gets worse. 10/10 times we've gone through the drive throu our order is wrong and the girls at the window are incredibly rude. One of them almost threw us the food with a nasty attitude. Not only that, but they never put plastic ware or napkins. We always end up having to get off and complain to get our order right. You'd think there would be some kind of apology or remorse. No, instead, the so called "manager" gets an attitude with the customer. Like if it was our fault his employees got the order wrong. We've only dined in once and the experience was just as bad. Tables were dirty and when the girl cleaning the tables saw us sit, instead of coming over to clean the table, she went on to the opposite side of the place and started cleaning empty tables. We ended up having to clean it ourselves. Then, our food was cold. We were told it would take about 10 min for our burger. 40 min later my husband had to get up and remind them they still hadn't brought us the burger. They were all in the back talking and laughing instead of working. That brought out the burger immediately, but cold. It was obvious it had been sitting there for a while and they had simply forgot to bring it. Based on their customer service. They should have been out of business a long time ago. I show up at 6:00 only one person inside besides me, and 1 car in the drive-thru, first off the drive thru was swarmed with flies! I walked to the register to get my food, two people saw me and no one acknowledged me until the cashier came, she handed me my drink cup while they finished the food and handed me a short ass straw for a (large drink" that looked like it was bought at the frikin dollar tree, then they handed me my food in a plastic bag with frikin beans smeared on the handles!! This is one Mexican place you have to try. It's new and their dishes are a little different. Inside it's unpretentious but clean, well lit, with a self serve counter, and a great salad/condiment bar included. I tried several of their sauces and all were terrific, and different. The staff speak limited English, but very accommodating if making substitutions. I didn't understand all the entrees on the overhead menu board so I keep ordering the BBQ half chicken plate, cooked with whole onion inside. Plentiful entree and sides for a reasonable price. Hard to describe the BBQ sauce but very tasty - everyone I've recommended this to has raved over it! When I returned I was somewhat put off with the lack of cars, but noticed a line around the back for take out - which they do very well! They add plenty of sauces, etc with their generous portions! The $9.25 chicken plate is a couple of dollars off before 4pm and was two meals for me! If bored with all Mexican food tasting the same & like trying new tastes, this one will not disappoint! read more

Compare to other pollo region this one the worst I had .i asked for a tostada ala Siberia the chicken was shredded instead of grinded like in other location and it tasted like old chicken . I Use to Be a employee here and to be honest I had to quit I was ashamed of the things that went on here for example the OVERFLOW of the sewage!! I worked the drive thru and omg I would open the window and almost pass out!! I would look at the customers and they would have a look of disgust the smell was HORRIBLE !! When I mention it the managers would make me call the city !! Second the manager here is so unprofessional !! Never had drinks stocked up so be ready to drink water or carbonated water.. and she always said I smiled to much and I was being to "friendly" with the. Customers... didn't like when I spoke English she only wants Spanish speaking people and would bad talk English speaking people because she knew they could not understand the food is good but nobody wears gloves !!
