Came here for our annual Christmas party and was not disappointed. They gave you a large variety of choices. Meat, chicken and pasta. The service was great, and the private room lets us do games without distractions. The food was delicious, hot and you could eat as much as you want. Plenty of off street parking and a a convenient location. I hear the business may close, due to the owner getting too old to cook and manage it. read more

My bf and I decided to give Pompeo a try since we are trying to find a good place for pizza. We were slightly skeptical since every time we drive by, the parking lot is empty. We ordered a small mozzarella pizza and a buffalo chicken pizza and were pleased. The pizzas were cooked to where they had a nice crisp but not over cooked. The buffalo chicken pizza didn't have a drizzle of ranch or blue cheese over it when it arrived. I asked for some on the side and it completed the pizza. I believe the owner was the waitress and she was friendly and attentive. We would certainly come back again! read more

Love Pompeos resturant . This is a family owned run business by the adorable couple Pompeo and his wife lovely wife Dominica. They have been in business way back as far as Danny's Pizzeria. You get all food prepared by Pompeo himself and organized events by Dominica. There prices are very reasonable service is great. I highly recommend this restaurant for planning your events. Leave it up to them to provide memorable occasion, for any of your get together occasion's. Or just leave the cooking to them and pick out and pick up food trays for holiday events. My wife and I decided to try Pompeo's based on decent reviews. It was a Friday night 12/15/23 and the restaurant should have been somewhat busy. We arrived at 4:30 and no one else was there besides us. We figured we were just early but by the time we left about 5:20 there were still no other customers. The owner Pompeo was there as was I believe his wife who was our waitress. There was no other staff. The other side of the dining room was blocked off but I looked and saw a few pool tables. Later we saw a sign outside that said a billiard and bar was coming soon. Anyway the dining room was darker that it should be. There was music but at a volume so low we could barely hear it even though no one else was there. As far as the food, we ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizers. They were good no issues here. For dinner I ordered the Fra Diablo pasta with clams and muscles. The sauce was tasty but very thin. The clams and muscles were cooked good and overall I enjoyed the dish. My wife ordered ravioli but after eating some of it she remarked that it lacked taste and was not enjoyable. It seems to me that this restaurant is either closing or transitioning. I would put up money that the pizza I just bought to-go was reheated from earlier in the night. Two slices had disintegrated in the sauce and it was cold despite picking it up right on time. To compound matters, I'm not sure I've ever had worse pizza-- reheated or not. The sauce tastes remarkably like chef boyardee and the cheese is bland and lifeless. Good thing there are plenty of other options for takeout around here. As for the dining room... think 1994 tesselated fabrics and veneer. My best friend and I put an order in through door dash at 6:50pm on a Sunday night. There was a 2 hour delay due to the restaurant and then our order was cancelled because the restaurant closed! Because it was a Sunday night there were limited options open and we struggled to find another dinner option. Arguably, This could have been a door dash issue, however our card was charged and the woman we spoke to on the phone from Pompeo actually yelled at us. She wasn't apologetic at all or understanding and she was rude and just down right mean. I have to say I have never been yelled at for calling to ask what happened with an order we ordered in advance and paid for. Sadly this was our first and only experience with this restaurant and we will never be back. What happened to basic customer service? read more

The atmosphere is non-existent, the macabre combinations of style and color (pastel colored walls with black blue and green carpet) make the interior look like a clearing house for a 1980's casino, the staff is nice and efficient. Unfortunately, the food is hit or miss. The pizza is very good, clearly made with fresh ingredients. The chicken parmigiana was a dismal failure. The chicken portion was generally about 2mm thick on one cutlet and 1cm thick on the other, so, as you may imagine, the thinner one was almost jerky. The accompanying pasta was cooler than room temperature and at the end, the plate was filled with water. At best, I will return for take-out pizza. :-/ read more

Came in for a Baptism luncheon. Room was nicely set up. Food was good. Wine selection was lacking.

Really great food here, and the portions are pretty large for lunch. Of note is the bread made in house, which is well above the stale bricks you usually get. The bread is soft, flavorful, and makes you want more. I got the pasta with calamari and it turned out great. It's not necessarily speedy as the chef clearly cares about making sure each meal is just right, but I'd say it's well worth it. The calamari was fresh, pasta al dente, and it was seasoned just right. Hell of a meal for the price, I'd gladly recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

I went there for a buffet lunch from the bar to the buffet this place was nasty. The glassware was filthy. The bar is old outdate and small. The eggplant rollatini was not only not cooked but they did not stuff it. The pasta was OK , it was baked ziti. The chicken was tough, we think it was masala. I passed on the roast beef and potatoes. The salad was great along with the bread. But this place is a big no no ! The lighting in the room was blinding the entire time. Something must of changed , had my dads 80th birthday party there and the waitress was so unfriendly. The food was gross! So embarrassing ! I think they poured vinegar on potatoes, bacon was so fatty , chicken was so dry ! Eggs were burnt , why would they bring them out like that . 2nd time there , first time was not very good, this trip same , there were only 4 other people in this restaurant dinnertime on Saturday night, as we sat and waited app 15 minutes before a waiter came over and went for our drinks , 10 minutes later came back with them , went to get bread, another 5 minutes, finally took order. My chicken parm was like a dried out piece of flattened chicken breast crunchy at the least the cheese so so, the pasta was watery, My wife ordered pasta with vodka sauce and left it on her plate, they did comp for it, all in all ...Slow to serve, not very good last visit there read more

We had a reception after a funeral and Pompeo Restaurant exceeded our expectations. The banquet menu offers three different packages, with many selections available to customize the food choices. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was great. We had estimated 60 people would attend, and we were told they would set up for 70 in case we were under in our estimate. It turned out 70 people attended and it was handled smoothly. Considering the quality of the food, the excellent service and the very reasonable price we were very pleased with Pompeo. A long time patron. I love all their pizzas and hot subs. I first discovered his former location, Franco's in Foxen, during my commute from Chester to New Haven. They were the only establishment that provided foam containers for their subs. Since I still had a way home, this started me as a loyal customer. Their home made bread is crunchy, not soggy, like so many others hot subs. Their pizza crust rivals any of my home town, which is known nationally for their pizza! read more

My wife and I have been here twice; each time was a good experience. Good food, good setting, good service, low prices. Affordable dining. A bottle of Chianti for $18. I think the "Sunday Dinner" spaghetti with meatballs and sausage is $11.95. Zuppa de pesce is $19.95. I had the clams casino pasta special the first time, which was excellent. I had veal parm the second time; it was not the best I've ever had, but pretty good (veal is a real test of the chef.) We will be back. I see some of the critical reviews; ok, maybe it's more family dining than fine dining, but it is pretty good. We like to eat out almost every day on a modest budget, restaurants like this deliver a good dining experience at an affordable price; that's a winner in my book. read more

I wanted to like it. The waitress was the only saving grace. She was sweet and tried her best. All food was made from frozen chicken tenders and frozen fried mozzarella. Both chicken and mozz were soggy and inedible. My boyfriend ordered chicken florentine and I ordered chicken francese. We both got the same sauce which tasted like Heinz gravy on our meals. Went here for a birthday party, food was awesome, great wine, fresh bread! Loved my Chicken dish!
