Poncho's has been my go to take out place lately. Their steak quesadillas are literally so good and I like that they serve it with the veggie toppings and condiments. I tried their chicken sopes for the first time recently and it was really delicious too! I think I would try it with a different meat choice next time. Their pickup is really easy and they are super quick to prepare the order as well!

I was looking for a taco place to get lunch, this came up, and it was everything I wanted! It was a smaller building, with even a smaller amount of parking, but the inside was very nice. It was very convenient that there were several tables for dining in. The decor and natural lighting was good, but the music was a little bit loud. The food was wonderful! I always try the lengua at any place that has it, and theirs was some of the best. Not too fatty, but super tender. The service was also good. We were helped quickly, and the food came out pretty quickly too. I liked that there was a self serve station where you could add toppings after your food came. The lady who took our orders did check on us too, even though they don't have actual servers, which I thought was nice. The only downside was that we got a total of 6 tacos, 2 small sides of rice, and 2 drinks, and it came out to $44. That was kind of surprising, and I don't know if I would come here very often just because of that. But I guess that's also just the cost of going out now! Definitely worth checking it out!

Poncho's Tacos came to us highly recommended, and they certainly didn't disappoint! The restaurant was super cute and decked out for the holidays. Inside it's counter service, but you can add toppings to your meal at a small buffet table nearby. I got the 3 Taco Same Meat Special, which is a stellar deal! I chose the asada tacos, but after trading one for a pastor taco with another party member, I'll definitely be getting more pastor tacos when I return!

If you're looking for authentic tacos with a pleasing aesthetic, Poncho's Tacos is the place to be! I've been wanting to try this place out for forever ever since I saw their Ad on Instagram, but it's a bit of a drive from where I live. I finally convinced my husband to take me in honor of my birthday month, and he obliged. Boy, am I glad that he finally took me here! I ordered a Tripe Taco and Tongue Taco, and my husband ordered a Steak Torta. We also ordered the Pancho's, which are their nachos. Everything was delicious! Both the tripe taco and tongue taco were soft but flavorful. I've had some dry, chewy tripe tacos before, so I was very happy to find that their tripe taco was easy to eat and didn't feel as though I was chewing on rubber. My tacos came with cilantro and onion, and were were served with the usual sides of lime, onion, and radish. The nachos were tasty as well. I'm not sure if their chips are homemade, but I love that they were extra crunchy, didn't taste oily, and weren't overly salted. The toppings on the nachos were evenly distributed, so we had 'stuff' on every single chip instead of having to sparsely distribute the toppings through the layers. The cashier came to check on us throughout our time there, and gave us free chips and guac when we told her that it was out first time there. Totally unexpected, and a gesture that we really appreciated! Upon first entering the restaurant, they may not seem "legit" since they don't look like a hole in the wall, but I can assure you that this place serves authentic food, comparable to El Caporal!

These are the best tacos in Grand Rapids, period. This unassuming place is cranking out quality, authentic Mexican fare A-Z. The salsa bar is just gilding the lily. The place is impeccably clean, and the service is hospitable. Pricing is fair, excellent value.

We were excited to try this place! I ordered 2 Al Pastor and one Tripe. The tripe was tasty but could've used a little more tenderizing. The al pastor was amazing with lots of pineapple and seasoned perfectly. The rice and beans were fantastic! So good! Lastly, the service was great; the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure.

I have been wanting to try Ponchos since they opened and I heard all of the hype. It's quite the drive from my house but I eventually said screw it, I need authentic tacos. The staff is so friendly and the food was delicious. It was ready in less than 10 minutes even while they were busy. I ordered 3 tacos that include chicken, steak, and chorizo. They come with cilantro and onion, because they're authentic! They included some grilled onions, a pepper, limes, and 2 types of sauce. The red sauce was definitely spicier than the green but they both had great flavor. The chorizo was probably my favorite because it was bursting with flavor. I added lime and a little bit of the green sauce to each taco, and it was fantastic.

YUMMMM! I would highly recommend checking this place out! It has a small dining area, so either come during a slower time, plan on doing carryout, or anticipate that you might have to take your food to go. The customer service was fantastic - it has the feel of a small, family run place and the people working were very friendly and helpful in making a decision on what to get. The ordering process was simple - as soon as you walk in, the counter is right there with overhead menus. You order right away, pay for your meal and then they bring it out to you when it's ready. The food was sooo good! All of the tacos were excellent! I loved the Tinga and Pastor! Of course they come with grilled onions and peppers, cilantro and lime. The chips and guac were tasty as well! The hot sauces that were available were yummy - one was spicy, the other was mild. Overall, this was a great place to check out, and I'll definitely go back!

My grandparents are from Mexico so whenever they come to visit I'm always trying to find something authentic for dinner. A friend recommended this place and I will be reccomend for it going forward. There isn't a ton of seating but it's super cute inside if you can get a spot. The menu is extremely authentic and everything came out fast. Between the 4 of us we had a variety of tacos (lengua, pollo, asada, and camarones) as well as rice and beans. Every thing was delicious! I will say this is a bit pricier than other Mexican restaurants but we will be back nonetheless! read more

just now Fiance and I were heading to Burton street El Cuando but it was far too busy and we were starving so we decided to say screw it and hit up Arby's. We pulled in to the parking lot and spotted this gem across the road. So happy we made that audible to Arbys because Ponchos tacos is the truth!! All the meat options you want, that the other taco places sometimes have and sometimes dont, ponchos comes through on all of them, and they are very well prepared. This is sit down meets fast food in the best possible way. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and our service was extremely fast. We didn't get the typical chips and salsa that we have all grown to expect, but you don't miss it and it's better this way since the service is so fast and the food is delicious. We ordered steak fajitas and chicken fajitas with rice and beans. The meat was well seasoned and we really appreciated the fact that it was diced small as it made it easy to assemble the fajita. The salsas that accompanied were a perfect addition, and if you like spicy the green salsa meets that expectation. My daughter gave the whole experience a 10/10, it was a great stop while we were out. read more

Went here because we've always passed but it and wanted to try a new restaurant, walk in and right away we are greeted with smiles. The tacos were decent. Not great but pretty run of the mill for the area in which there are a half dozen authentic taco places in a three mile radius. What could have put them at four or even five stars was the service but that was not the case. The women at the counter seemed wholly disinterested in taking an order or being remotely friendly. Would highly recommend for a solid authentic taco. Being OTR is great to find solid gems out there. This is up there with one of the best lengua tacos I have had. The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The portions were impressive, one taco had more meat on it than I find at my local taco shop in Cincinnati. They have a great system/team there. Was there a bit before lunch, it was no surprise how fast it filled up around noon. By the time I was finished there was a line almost out the door. Highly recommend. read more

Where to start! I ordered two traditional steak tacos with everything on them with a side order of rice and beans, the steak was well cut and perfectly seasoned! The tacos were jam packed with meat which is something you don't see in most taco shops. They came with a grilled jalapeño onion limes and delicious red and green sauce to add a little spice. little update on this place: you shouldn't bother coming here anymore. they raised their prices by *a lot*. it used to be a fast, affordable place to stop after work. i generally come here about once (or more) a week. i used to pay $11.50 for their 3 taco meal (i add a tip). last time i went in i ordered the same exact food and tipped my normal percent and it cost me $15. $5 a taco is actually ridiculous. i could not believe the prices. there's plenty of other family-owned restaurants where i can get the exact same thing for $8-10. so why pay $15? i don't think i'll be coming back. read more

I can't wait to try more!!

Upon getting a booth they quickly took our order, brought us our drinks and shortly after our food. They do not offer complimentary chips and salsa like most of the restaurants in the area. The price is also a lot higher than those that do charge for it. With your taco order you get a plate of limes, pickled onions, grilled onions and grilled peppers. I ordered asada tacos and they were full of meat with cilantro and onion. They also offer dinner plates with rice and beans. I tried to give them an opportunity to make things right before coming to reviews but just left even more angry. Last time I ordered I ordered no onions and specified its due to an allergy and the onions were added anyways. Simple mistake were all human. It was what happened when I called to nicely talk about it the woman who answered hung up on me and when I called back she picked up the phone and sat it down and I speak enough Spanish to know she was in the background talking spit about me. So then I reached out via their website and was ignored. Then today I called and explained what happened and that I was willing to give them a second chance and the lady told me it would be ready in 10 minutes without apologizing to me. Then I get there 20 minutes later and my they didnt even have a receipt for my order and hadnt started on it. Still charged me full price and refused to apologize and when I pointed that out the staff literally pretended like I wasnt there or speaking and then a few minutes later they handed me my food and I once again pointed out no one apologized but you guessed it was ignored again. Im very vocal about supporting local businesses in social media and believe me all of west michigan will be hearing about all this disrespect. Wonder if theyd pass a health inspection? I gave them multiple chances and never raised my voice or anything. The empty tip jar makes way more sense. A good business would've made it right initially not hung up and ignored me and continued to treat me horrible. Ill tell every person who will give me a moment of their time about this experience and be posting on all my social media platforms. No comped food or even an apology like wtf is happened to this place?
