Ordered boudin egg rolls which were pretty big. These came with a spicy dipping sauce. Very filling appetizer. Club sandwich was perfect and fresh. The carrot cake slice was large, moist and really delicious. Overall good experience. Quick pick up from online order. I was surprised how many people were squished in line, no distancing while they waited in line to order. Seems a bit full, probably won't opt to eat inside. This was my first time to eat their food and was surprised at how large the portions were and how good it was. They literally did not skimp on anything. Highly recommend. I'm so disappointed. Since they moved here we have eaten frequently. Great food and good prices. Recently they have expanded and shortly there-of made two menu changes that changes the way we feel about this place. 1. The stopped making an italian fried Shrimp Salad. I was told the ingredients on the olive salad costs went too high:::: Geeze Louise; dah charge a little more and keep customers happy. 2. Today I was told they no longer serve 1/2 orders of French Fried Onion rings. Again Dah?????? Two people cannot eat a whole large order of those rings. Just charge a little more than half for a half order. $8 for a whole order and $6 for a half order. It was sure disappointing. You have loyal customers for a reason. Please listen to them. read more

This is my favorite po-boy place in Mandeville! The restaurant is open, well lit, clean, and has plenty of seating. The employees are helpful and welcoming. Most importantly, the food is spectacular. They serve the best fried food. It's always light and never oily. My personal favorite is the onion rings and fried shrimp po-boy, which is lightly dressed with mayo, lettuce, pickles, and tomato. Has this shop been taken over by Yankees??? First how are supposed to eat the poboy when they slice the SOFT roll all the way through. A fully dressed poboy just falls apart and is impossible to eat as a sandwich. I had a shrimp and can not imagine a roast beef poboy served this way. Second and comparatively minor issue it was not cut in half, a choice, but they could have asked. I truly hope this was an anomoly/training issue in this formerly 5 star shop. Only got take-out as we're still not easy to eat in public. I got the roast beef po-boy and believe me when I say I was happy I was not in public! It was a major napkin using event. A messy roast beef does not always guarantee a good roast beef, but at Pontchartrain, it does. Next order was a shrimp po-boy. Not only did they charge ($6.50) for a single extra pork chop, but they also charged .75 to put the rice on the side. Every place I've ever gone to that has red beans and rice, comes with sausage. We stopped in around 3pm for a late lunch, and the restaurant was still half full. I ordered a shrimp po-boy, and it came with twice as much shrimp as would fit in the bun. No skimping here. I got so much food with a 6 inch po-boy that I brought half of it home. My husband was thrilled with his roast beef po-boy too. AND they had huge chocolate chip cookies for dessert! Less than a week, driving to Texas and back, I decided to eat here. Day one, I decided to try to entrees, one for dinner after arriving in the area and one for lunch before heading out the next day. I decided on the highly rated crab cake pasta and a seafood platter. In addiction, I picked up a slice of carrot cake and a couple of Red Velvet cookies. Once at the hotel, everything looked so good, I decided on eating a little of both mostly because it looked good and also so I could review them both in their fresh state. Hands down, with the exception of a few shells in the crab cake, the highly rate pasta lived up to the reviews. It. Was. Delicious. I'd deeply regret, not getting it on the way back but more on that later. The seafood feast was a mixed bag. Everything was well fried. The oysters, shrimp and catfish were done well. Everything tasted pretty good, though very lightly seasoned, until I bit into a bad shrimp. This is the thing, once that happens to me, nothing taste good to me. I can't eat another shrimp at all. So I scrape up the oysters (if already eaten the catfish) and saved them for later. The next day I ate them with the pasta. Even reheated in the microwave, the pasta dish paid off. The carrot cake was good and I ended up eating the cookies in Texas (both cooked in house). The return trip, five days later. I ordered the fish and shrimp (whyyyyy). Big mistake. Yes, it was perfectly fried. Yes, they fish was delish. Again a bad shrimp. Trashed. Eggplant sticks were ok. Not a lot of flavor but edible. Also grabbed two of those RV cookies for the trip home. Located in a busy little strip mall with limited parking. This little seafood spot is worth trying, and is getting four stars on the the strength of the Crab cake pasta. Food was good but not anything special. Corn and crab bisque left a lot to be desired. Fries were just ok. Service was mediocre at best and the shrimp We're just ok. The guys running out the orders were all very nice but the counter and what I assume was maybe the manager were blah if not rude. Check your receipt before you sit, I asked for fries and they put in baked macaroni, when I said I had fries they said no the receipt says macaroni and that was it. I have a hard time seeing the fuss about this place other than it's quantity over quality read more
