    Half Fried Oyster Po-boy $15.00 / $24.00 for a whole po-boy.
    John F.

We stopped into Ponchartrain Po' Boys for the first time in October 2025 and overall had a really good experience. I ordered the half fried oyster po' boy ($15) and a side of red beans & rice ($4), while my guest had the fried fish basket ($13) that comes with three strips and a side of potato salad. The oyster po' boy was tasty with fresh bread and well-seasoned oysters, though I felt the portion was a little small for the price. The red beans & rice were flavorful and a great complement to the meal, and the fried fish was crisp and nicely cooked. We arrived around 2:30 p.m. on a Monday, and the place was busy, which says a lot about its popularity. The service was fair, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Prices were mostly reasonable--the only thing I thought was a bit overpriced was the oyster po' boy. All in all, good food, generous portions on most items, and a lively local atmosphere. We'd definitely come back to try a few other things on the menu next time.

Great poor boy shop in an unpretentious strip mall setting. The fried seafood poor boys are all great. Did not love the hot sausage, poor boy, but it was OK. They have soft drinks and cold beer. Onion rings are a must. Homemade and perfectly fried.

Delicious food at this restaurant. You can order at the front, you get your number and they will bring your food out to your table. They also do to go orders. We ordered and the food came out pretty quickly which was good since we were all starving. We had the fried shrimp poboy and fried oyster poboy. Another in our party had the roast beef poboy and fried shrimp platter which was also delicious. Very generous portions, They have a large dining room and staff is excellent. It's located in a strip mall, I could see when this place gets busy, the parking can be bit challenging, but overall excellent place.

First time visiting Pontchartrain and it was amazing. Portions are very big and the meal quality was outstanding.

I spotted this place on the map app before I ever got to town and bookmarked it. Today is the day I get to try them. They are closed on weekends but I'm not complaining because good food is worth waiting for. This a simple establishment with a long dining room with lots of tables and all the basics provided including two fountain drink stations. Come in, order at the counter, find a table and wait a couple of minutes for your food. Outside on the sidewalk, the chalkboard says Red Beans and Rice every day now for $12.95! Sounds good to me since I've had shrimp every day since Friday including today. But I'll be back! To try a shrimp po-boy because I LOVE SHRIMP! Their red beans and rice are excellent! Cooked perfectly. An order comes with cornbread (of course - a must) and smoked sausage. The cornbread was delicious as was the link of sausage. My taste buds never had it so good. Service was great. As soon as I scraped off my plate of leftovers into one of the provided to-go boxes, a server took that empty plate off my hands before I could set it back down. I see multiple chalkboards calling my name too. I have not had a Muffaletta yet. I love the olive salad that comes on them. And I couldn't get out of here without browsing the dessert case. So I took a slice of the Milky Caramel & Marshmallow Chocolate Cake to go. Yummy!

Had the pleasure of stopping by this staple of a gem for the first time while parents were in town visiting. We ordered onion rings, crab cake pasta, roast beef Po-Boy, soft shell crab special which comes with fried shrimp and a bowl of gumbo, and the hot burger which is a hot sausage patty and hamburger patty put together. All of our food was delicious. Especially the crab cakes. You can tell it's fresh crabmeat and not artificial. You have to place your order at counter and then they will bring to your table. Peak hours are definitely 12-1pm. We had to wait about 15 mins to get a table after someone got up. The gumbo did give me bubble guts afterwards so I won't get that again.

Great Gumbo and loaded po-boys on crispy French bread. Order at the window and it's delivered to your table. Lots of take out traffic.

Love the P.O. boys and debris fries but the prices are not the greatest. Not the most cost effective for feeding a family.

Beyond that, the food and service are simply perfect every time. I enjoyed some small plates last night, including an espresso martini, the tuna crisp and the soup de jour: tomato basil. Everything was served at the perfect temp, cold for drinks and crisp and piping hot for the soup. The martini was standalone and had the perfect hints of chocolate essence and level of sweetness. It was more coffee than liqueur which I loved and the drink was pleasant without it tasting too much like the spirit. I do mine with gin and they always do such a great job. The tuna crudo was good, and presented so nice with a pour-over of the agua chile tableside. I do feel like it was missing some spice and salt, leaving it to fall a bit flat. However it was incredibly fresh! The soup was a perfect way to end my night, light enough but also filling. So creamy and good. A major thank you and recognition for Nathan. He is an excellent bartender, server and had amazing suggestions for menu items and drinks. He kindly asked the kitchen for extra requests and helped making our dining experience memorable. As my friends ran late, I was seated at the bar alone for a while and he was personable and engaging.

Crazy Pig has an excellent menu for breakfast with lots of different options We went on a Sunday morning I got one of the omelettes I think mine was the lean omelette Everything comes with bread and or biscuit I can't eat bread or biscuit so our waiter offered me avocado and tomatoes, which were a perfect choice to go with my omelette Most restaurant places that I've been to usually just remove the item without offering a substitution I was so happy with the alternate options I spoke with the owner to let her know that I appreciate having the tomato and the avocado instead of the bread and the biscuit. Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice

Think eggs Benedict with a Louisiana crabmeat twist. It starts with a buttery homemade biscuit topped with a whole artichoke heart, creamed spinach, a perfectly poached egg, hollandaise, and caviar. It's served with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and a side of potatoes. With so many rich components, I expected it to be heavy, but everything was surprisingly balanced. Every bite worked together, and it was an incredibly delicious dish. My wife ordered the French Dip, which was the brunch special, and she absolutely raved about it. The shaved ribeye was incredibly tender, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the au jus was packed with flavor. My daughter, who considers herself a burger connoisseur, insists their Brunch Burger is the best burger she's ever had. She ordered it again today, and it only reinforced that opinion. I also tried the Golden Hour cocktail, and it may have become my new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The service was phenomenal! It was for an anniversary, and they made sure to tell us happy anniversary, and add it to a little sign that was left on our table. Now for the main part: the food. Fried Oysters and Pork Belly - very good, if you get this make sure you eat them together (that was our "best bite" for that serving). Wedge Salad - one of the best wedge salad's we have had. The blue cheese dressing was creamy (rather than chunky blue cheese). It had crispy shoestring onion strings that almost acted as the croutons. I loved every bite that included lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and bacon. Delmonico Steak - this was probably our overall favorite item. Just a great steak, and large enough for both of us to enjoy. Redfish - this was good, not great. Would probably try something else other than this if we went back. Tchefuncte Potatoes - they almost were like a twice baked potato (flavor wise), but they are super creamy and fluffy and then turned into a lightly fried ball. Good and very unique. Crème Brûlée - if you like crème brûlée then you will enjoy it here. A classic dessert that was delicious. And to top it all off, the ambiance was great. It is right on the water, and service was very attentive.
