Great all around! Food, portions, staff, atmosphere. Love it! Staff was super friendly and food was prepared at lightning speed.

Definitely worth the drive. Yes indeed. New place, fresh, clean smell, excellent service and great food. We came here after an undue and needless waiting time for a routine visit to the doctor in Lebanon, so we were a bit on the edge of nerves. That all went away in a hurry when we entered here. The place smells new even though it's relatively not. Clean and airy. The building is separated into two large rooms with a bar in between and plenty of sound protection so the usual laughter and merriment at the bar doesn't carry into the more intimate dining room ambiance. We were greeted by a Maitre D' who asked our preference for seating. We chose the dining room and were shown to a window table. Our waiter was a school teacher in the process of reactivating his credentials and it was obvious that customer service and friendliness were part of his ethos. He managed to establish a relationship with each one of the six or seven tables being served. Always courteous and knowledgeable. Apart from the ambiance and outstanding service, food was delicious. I had the Fisherman Platter, an upscale Fish and Chips with added delicious shrimp and stuffed Quahog that came accompanied by home made slaw. Enough food for two. But I was starving after fasting for a delayed medical. My other half had the medallions of beef that was finger-licking. We will be back to try some of their other menu selections, their pulled pork, their chicken and kimchi, steamed mussels, duck poutine and roast beef salad. And their wood-fired pizza. In short, a delightful drive to a quaint town, dinner at a superb restaurant with amazing service and great food and an outstanding evening.

I encountered the owner and he was most friendly. I asked him what one meal he would make his best friend on the menu and he suggested Thom's fish fry. He said he worked a while until perfecting his recipe. He said people like the salmon.. but the gentleman next to me at bar recommended "the special" referred to the Tavern Dip! Shaved primed rib, Swiss cheese, caramelized grilled onions, fresh made baguette, au jus amd a special horseradish sauce.. homemade fresh cut deep fried French fries with a side of ketchup. It was outstanding! I will definitely be back for more of this menu. The owner, Thom.. said all the food is freshly made, all his recipes use fresh ingredients... I waited around during Trivia night on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was very community based.. everyone seems to know one another.. and I waited for the Apple blossom pastry:) must have:) the service staff were also amazing! Thank you for a great first time meal.

Our drinks: Strawberry margarita and a Moscow mule

Stopped by here one late Friday night around 8. It was a 15 minute late since the place was slightly small, but I think it was worth it. I had a Moscow mule to drink and it was quite tasty. I loved the duck poutine fries; great spin on poutine and one of the best I've tasted in NH. We also had the wings, which I highly recommend. For dinner, I had the Tavern Dip and I found it to be average. I loved the horseradish sauce to dip, though.

Their pasta dishes - comedically and nostalgically called "Suppa Time" - are served with homemade bread. In these current days, any bread served for free actually matters. But this bread is homemade. 2.) Their salads also come with homemade bread. 3.) All burgers, sandwiches, subs and wraps are served with chips. You can also upgrade to other sides. 4.) You can get not one but two sizes of calzones. 5.) You can also get two sizes of apps and sides: small and large sizes of wings, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and homemade bread. You can choose from 9 types of salads here and 24 pizzas, not including the make-your-own pizzas. I'd love to try most all of the combinations as they look high quality and tasty. As for the calzones and strombolis, I always thought they were the same. Apparently, calzones are circular and crimped like empanadas. Strombolis are rectangular. Both are filled with toppings and cheese. Another thing I was never aware of: Buffalo mozzarella is actually made from Buffalo milk and that is the type of mozzarella they use in their pizzas here. As a foodie, I really always thought Buffalo mozzarella was named as such because it was a big ball of cheese. But it is actually Buffalo milk which they say makes the pizza more creamy. I did not notice a difference but did enjoy my slices. Cantore's Pizza has been under new ownership since Jan 2024. I enjoyed the pizza and good selection of beers and drafts. The slices combo I ate was good. I loved that it was a family atmosphere and people were friendly and festive. I love that you can sit up at the tiny bar and have a draft but shorter patrons, take note: these bar stools are tall.

My mother and I had such a fun dinner at Helen's Place! Glad we got there early (just after 5pm on…read morea cold and snowy Friday) because it was like watching a bird feeder with all the people zipping in and out for their take-away orders. In between, people were arriving for dinner and most opted to sit in the bar room where there is a big TV, though I never heard it. In fact, given all the people pouring in, I was surprised it wasn't louder. I spied an Absolut Citron Cosmo on the cocktail menu, and that is the official Cosmo recipe, so I was quick to order it. I was thrilled when our amazing server, Brooke, delivered not only my Cosmo to the table, but a lowball glass with the "dirty" ice the bartender had shaken the drink with and thought to send to the table with the perfectly crafted cocktail! What a great touch! I can't remember the last time I ordered a Cosmo out because I got tired of being disappointed. This one was 100% on the mark. I really want to give Brooke a shout out. I am vegetarian and she was really helpful sharing how they can customize so much of the menu. I had already seen the Impossible Burger on the menu and had my mind made up, but next time I will try the pizza (though the Impossible was perfect and piping hot!). I chose sweet potato fries as my side and they were very thick yet crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. I also ordered Sara's Choice Salad, which was red and green Little Leaf lettuce topped with sliced cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, blueberries, and big dollops of goat cheese. The maple balsamic vinaigrette on the side was the perfect accompaniment. The coffee is FRESH. Helen's must be one of the only places remaining that dumps coffee if it sits past a certain amount of time. My mother knows her coffee, and she commented on how good it was. The atmosphere is super casual, like a rustic family cabin. Very warm and welcoming, especially on a dark, messy night. Even the patrons were wonderful. I recommend this for a casual date night, family dinner, people of all ages, or if you just want a really good takeout meal. This is a really great local gem and I think I found my kitchen away from home.

If you're looking for a master class and being ignored this place delivers. The bar wasn't busy,…read morenot even remotely yet. Somehow the priority seemed to be lovingly, organizing lime wedges, and orange slices while actual customer sat wondering if they had accidentally become invisible. The older, gray haired bartender, and his equally disengaged sidekick appeared fully committed to every task, except serving guests. After a prolonged audition for the role of "forgotten customer" I was finally acknowledged. I ordered a Chardonnay a Cabernet appeared. Whoops was the response accompanied by a menu casually tossed onto the bar, as if I should feel honored to have made it onto the radar at all. For context it was my birthday. I was waiting for my husband who had been working since 4 AM and finally arrived around eight wearing a day glow yellow work short. Hard not to see. I told him my second visit was somehow managing to underperform even my low expectations from the first , ever the optimist he brushed it off. order me a diet whatever and pick a pizza he said before heading to the men's room to wash up 10 minutes later after he returned only to discover we were still sitting there untouched, unserved, and apparently participating in some sort of social experiment on customer neglect at that point, he tossed a $20 bill on the bar. You're welcome by the way for the unearned $20. I'm sure that covered more than just my few sips. We left immediately. was their surprise on their faces. Hard to tell that would've required them to actually notice customers. Maybe the food would have been great, we won't ever know. The locals may love it, but if you are traveler, looking for hospitality, service, or even basic acknowledgment that you've entered the building you may want to keep driving. Come for the citrus organization. Stay because nobody remembers you're there.
