    #22. Four Wings & 2 Catfish Fillet

Flew into St. Louis for work and came here based on a recommendation from the hotel. Had the cat fish, wings and fries. Not bashing the restaurant but my body couldn't handle fried everything and the seasoning was a little over board. Worst $27 I ever spent

Thank you Yelpers! This place did not disappoint. The catfish was great. Lightly coated and fried to perfection. The wings were also fried to perfection. Great seasoning on everything. My friends enjoyed their shrimp plates and one couldn't stop raving about the catfish. A definite spot to check out.

My friend was getting married so he requested this as his meal to get ready before the wedding. He kept raving about the wings but I was more excited to try all of the other side options. I got the fried cauliflower, onion rings, hush puppies, corn nuggets, okra, mac n cheese bites, coconut shrimp, and pizza puff. I got my husband a cheesesteak. The fries were good with ranch. I thought everything was good, just not amazing. The only thing noteworthy was the pizza puff. It was piping hot and stuffed like a big pizza hot pocket. Very flavorful and came with fries. Well worth the price. Bring cash if you don't want to pay a credit card surcharge. Street parking only so that's hard to find. I got dropped off. Lots of bottled drink options as well as ice cream flavors. I would come back to try more options next time we are in STL!

Pops kitchen off Washington is a staple. Awesome fried everything. Chicken fish shrimp Talapia. A little pricey but good. The honey glaze sauce is amazing.

    Whole fried wings, and fries.

Was walking by to catch my ride, and smelled pure deliciousness in the air! Everyone on the street pointed to Pop's Kitchen. I ran in a made a quick night cap order of wings/fries to see if they taste as good as they smell. These wings were off the chain! They actually taste like home fried chicken! Amazing!

Everything about this place is great fast and friendly service. The food was very good and I'm a very picky eater.

Don't come here during a peak time. They don't have a ticket system so orders get handed out incorrectly or not at all.

The food tasted okay to be cheap? I thought it would be nasty, but it's a great choice for a late night snack. I prefer the catfish.

There is street parking available and a small parking lot across from the restaurant. You can enter the restaurant at the main entrance on the corner or through the garden gate to the courtyard, but you must see the hostess for a table. Entering the courtyard patio is lovely as there is some nice landscaping and water features that make it quite tranquil. There are tables of various sizes there or you can go inside where there's standard dining tables or in yet another area is the bar. It almost feels like three restaurants in one. I highly recommend sitting out in the courtyard patio if you're able to. It really is lovely. We had a group of people and our server, Kelly, was great! She took good care of us, and made recommendations. I was really impressed with the support staff who swiftly swapped out our empty water carafes for fresh, cold ones. I started with a bloody Mary with roasted garlic vodka. It was such a unique mix of flavors and I really enjoyed it. I decided for my brunch that I would have the buttermilk pancakes and scrambled eggs. I was pleasantly surprised that they offer sugar-free syrup, if you ask. My dining companions ordered the black bean breakfast and the Florentine omelet, and everyone seemed happy with their choices. I will definitely be back.

I decided to start with a harvest salad. Wow! This was a delicious salad and I'm not usually a salad type guy. I will order this again! It was fresh and hit the spot! It's batter something out of a dream. The portion size was perfect. Maybe I didn't have to eat it all but how can I leave a bite left on that plate? It was delicious! The fries complemented the fish perfectly. We have always received top notch service! Gordon Ramsay would be proud. For this dinner outing, we decided to dying outside on the beautiful outdoor area that has a spectacular view of St. Louis city. If the weather is right, will do that again because it was fun. It was decorated all out for the Olympics and they have several comfy couch areas which were perfect for us with our toddler who does not want to sit still... We spent a few hours here and had some appetizers and drinks. We had the pub pretzel, pickle chips, fried cheese and soup. All were out quickly and very good. The pretzel was SO good! Served with mustard and warm cheese for dipping and it's huge. Service was friendly and fast. Bathrooms are spacious and new and clean with a nice large stall for baby changing. It wasn't crowded in the middle of a day on Friday so, pleasant to watch the game with a small group. I'm sure it can get really busy and rowdy during sports events downtown. All in all, new and comfy and a place I can see us coming often.

My coworkers, who also ran, insisted on meeting up here. They didn't really run, they walked. I can't walk a 5K, because pull your head out of your ass. I could have ordered something light, but I figured I'd go in, since I won't be returning. I don't have the means or the interest to catch a soccer game at the nearby stadium, and even if I did, I heard they've got good food vendors. What do I need with this place? Depending on how much they want for beer across the street, it might make sense to pregame here, especially if they're pulling the same BS they pull at Riverport where the police roam the parking lot and try to prevent you from drinking in your car, as one does. My little brother's running group had a function here after a marathon I ran a few weeks ago. Free food and drinks. I'm not even a member of that group, but I was dressed in running attire and wearing a medal. You best believe I got my drink on. Did it aid in my recovery? No. No, it did not. I got the sense that they had busboys and randos from off the street running orders and that this place might not be fully staffed except for on game day. That was also the case yesterday evening. The guy waiting our table obviously didn't know what he was doing, but he seemed chill and ultimately got the job done. Hopefully my boss left him a tip. The menu consists of standard sports bar fare, including two sandwiches that purport to feature meat from the Carnegie Deli. I found this highly improbable, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join the ranks of Bowzer from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzarelli. This may have been my one opportunity in life. You can get either a basic pastrami on rye, for purists, or people with certain dietary restrictions, or the Reuben. I of course went with the latter. I found it surprisingly neat, without too much sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and what have you, to where it gets all sloppy. The slices of meat were uniform to the point where I was concerned, but damn it if it wasn't moist and flavorful. Nullus. It's pastrami, so it's supposed to be processed anyway. It comes with your choice of fries, chips or some sort of salad. For chips, you can get Red Hot Riplets, which is nice for tourists. It'll save them from having to go to a Schnucks. We should all be lucky. I went with the fries, for the sake of citizen food journalism. Surprisingly, these were shoestring fries, not unlike at a Steak 'n Shake. You don't see that as often these days. Were they great? No. But it was still kinda neat that they had them. Really, you're just going here because it's either across the street from the soccer stadium or (I think) built into Union Station. In that sense, it's almost like they're doing you a favor by offering food that's not half bad. What else are you going to do, try to go drink in your car?

I ordered their pork chop, which came with asparagus and layered potatoes. The pork chop was served with a chutney sauce made from apricot, black, and golden raisins. This pork chop is somewhat unique to St. Louis; it's a huge bone-in chop, nothing in Naples, FL can compare. My chop was cooked perfectly. Now, as to never being here, I am exiting the building. There is a small dining area with an Irish band playing. I turned to my son and said I had been here before, pointed to the table I sat at, and told him I had Irish stew. But guess what we enjoyed our table conversations while the drinks were routinely refreshed and when the food arrived it was perfect.
