    Egg and cheese bagels
    Maria C.

The quality of the bagels at this store could be improved. I wanted a cinnamon bagel, but they didn't have one available. Additionally, the bagels are quite basic and lack toppings. We ordered an egg and cheese bagel; it wasn't the best, but it was okay. It is self-service, with only one person at the register while another cooks. However, the service was fast, and the place was very clean.

    "Sausage egg and cheese bagel"

$20+ dollars for this "sausage egg and cheese bagel" I need 33 more characters. This place isn't worth the effort. Avoid, and go try a different place in EWR.

I expect to pay more for an airport, but it was such an annoying experience. There's kind of an employee around but they will only let you order from a touch screen. We asked how to add a water and she just said, "do it on the screen" and walked off even though we hadn't seen the option and she had been doing nothing. Then of course the kiosk asks to add a tip. A tip for who for doing what? We just got a water at a different store. They were out of plain bagels (?) so we had breakfast sandwiches on everything. It was fine, but it took a long time to get (luckily no line) and I'm amazed a bagel place would be out of plain bagels. The options were pretty limited in the area for a 7 am flight with food around 6 am, and the sandwich itself was okay but the rest of the experience wasn't.

Everything bagel with lox, bacon, egg, and cheese. Yummy!

I really don't know why this rating is so low and I'm glad I didn't look here before trying. They say airport food isn't good but I enjoyed my lox, bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich. It's a nice spot to sit, charge your laptop, and people watch. Service is very friendly and price is on par with airport food. Ignore the low rating and give this a shot.

What a crappy bagel! I ordered an everything with cream cheese. The bagel is mushy. The cream cheese is on one side, just a slight smear. Also, cutting it in half would be so helpful, especially when eating on a flight. Self check is fine and the guys preparing the bagels were friendly and helpful, I noticed a few people had questions and they did their best to help. Great employees, bad bagels.

Just had a egg, cheese and bagel. And it was literally the worst. The eggs had been sitting out for a bit it seems and no butter on the bagel. Also ordered a cinnamon raise and after the fact they told me they don't have any. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I'm honestly a little surprised at the overwhelmingly bad reviews -- is it the best bagel I've ever had? Definitely not. Is it overpriced? Yeah. Is it decent? Also no. But for airport food, it's pretty okay. I got a bacon egg and cheese for about $13 (.....) but the bacon was well cooked, cheese was melted, and the bagel itself was a little stale but not terrible.

Bacon, Egg & Cheese on Everything Bagel

This was a nice and hearty, bacon egg & cheese. I stopped here on my way to my gate, before boarding. The wait was only about 10 minutes and it was worth the wait! The slice of bacon on this bagel was THICK, and packed with flavor. The bagel itself was tasty, but not the best bagel I've ever had before, admittedly. As a Jersey Girl, I'd like to say that I've got some strong opinions on bagels! This bagel didn't have the right amount of bread to air ratio, and was heavy on the bread. The everything seasoning was still delicious though and in a pinch this is a great spot!

Pretty terrible, but I guess that's just on par for Newark. Bagel was worse than a generic frozen bagel. Which it likely was except they probably then let it sit out for a few days and put watery cream cheese on it. The staff was fast to serve and nice, but other thanspent the whole time yelling at each other across restaurant, it was very loud. It was a relief to hear as it blocked out the clubbing music blasting from the speaker system... at a bagel shop?

    Newark Airport at 5:30 am

Well it was one of the few places open at this terminal at 5:30 am. The sign out front mentions 4:30 am but the lights were still off at 5:00 am. You can order via a QR code. Prices are double what you would pay outside of the airport. The bagel is not great but it's not Thomas store stuff. Staff brought the food out within 15 minutes. They were busy as soon as they opened. No ketchup or hot sauce was in the bag.

Everything bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese

Tf is this. One thing it's not is sundried tomato cream cheese on an untoasted everything bagel. It knew just how to piss me off even more after a 6am flight with a pathetic amount of schmear for $3.49. Should have gone to Dunkin downstairs

Driest bagel I've ever had. Disrespectful sandwich. Charged me $2 for butter packets. Shut this gross place down.

Basic seating with nothing fancy. A full jar of fresh pickles is on the table. The pastrami is second to none. Seriously. You get a generous portion of pastrami on rye. Greasy, fatty, just perfect! The onion rings are the best. They are famous for a reason. I go a few times a month so, I'm always greeted by name and promptly seated. The food always arrives shortly after the order is taken.

Luckily I found Hobby's Delicatessen via Find Me Gluten Free and was so glad to find that they do legitimate gluten-free options with a dedicated fryer and prep space to prevent cross contamination. I had the gluten-free pastrami wrap with fries for $23.95 and my husband had the #5 pastrami and corned beef with coleslaw and Russian dressing for $25.95. he also got the drip coffee with free refills for $3.25. Service was amazing. Owner's came out and chatted with us and preemptively made sure that I was aware that my food was safe for me to consume. Our waitress was incredibly personable and sweet. There were free pickles on the table. I'm not even a pickle person but I had three because again, I've been dying for vegetables after being in Europe. Great portions, safe celiac options, personable service, refillable drinks and no charge to use the toilets (although I didn't need to use them during this visit) This is what makes American restaurants great and Hobby's ticks all of those boxes. However, this time I ordered from Uber Eats and it took them 2 hours to deliver two bagels (an hour late to the estimated arrival time). They use their own delivery staff instead of Uber's staff, so the usual tracking was unavailable and inaccurate. The delivery lady was nice but I was starving by the time I received my food. Speaking of the bagels itself, I was genuinely surprised by the lox n loaded cream cheese -- they truly loaded it up with huge lox chunks, radish, onion and dill. So delicious. I was just annoyed they didn't even cut my bagel into halves. It was a mess to cut a cream cheese heavy bagel at home. Overall, I'd suggest going to O'Bagel in person and avoid ordering via delivery app.

Today, when I went to order, I was told they don't make the breakfast sandwiches without cheese anymore, and they are some sort of "smashed" sandwich. The lady at the counter was very nice and said they could take the cheese off...but apparently they can't just make it without the cheese? Bizarre! I don't know if they have gone to some sort of pre-made concoction or what, but breakfast sandwiches aren't really something that needed a technological advance. Anyway, there are plenty of other places in town that will just make a breakfast sandwich without putting cheese on it that someone then has to pick off. We'll go to one of those.
