This is definitely a must see in Oklahoma Pops soda shop. They sell every kind of soda and also a souvenir shop that has everything in it. This is a retro looking gas station, but there was also a car show going on while we were there. It was still daylight when we got there so we decided to eat at the soda shop. The food was good. I got the chicken sandwich and fries, my husband got chicken strips, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I really wanted to try the Root Beer Bread Pudding. But I didn't. The girls behind the soda bar were very friendly. Here's a first few things you should know. Pops 66 it's located in Arcadia Oklahoma. The soda bottle is 66 feet tall it even has a straw in it. this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. If you know me, you'll know i'm a soda fiend. I know its so bad for me, but I love soda.... especially cherry coke. I stopped here in the morning, and it was a interesting stop. The two things that stood out were the large metal soda structure in front and the numerous soda bottles glued inside the building. both are definitely good photos ops, during your route 66 trip. Judging from other pictures, if you stop here during the night, the soda bottle outside lights up. obviously, as the name implies, this place has so many soda choices. They group everything in different sections: Root beer, coke, orange, ginger ale, cherry... etc. I think most soda bottles are $2.99 They also sell gas here, but if memory serves me correct, the gas is more expensive than what you'll find in OKC, so if you can make it back to the city, i'd recommend skipping getting gas here. What a rude establishment. Went in with a group. They knew we were coming. We were treated like pariah's from the time we walked in the door. "You have to eat outside. You can't eat a to go order here, this is someone's section. Would you please move (this was said in mid bite). Pops is definitely an iconic stop upon Route 66 that I highly recommend they have a large selection of unique sodas that you might not find everywhere else on top of that an amazing place to see some classic cars. Have a great lunch and just a perfect pitstop along the way. One thing we like to do instead of buying individual sodas we get the six pack and try some random flavors. We've never tried before. Perfect for road trips. You know, of course, that the word people use for sweetened carbonated beverages like Coca Cola varies from region to region in the US. On the West Coast and in the Northeastern part of the country, people call these beverages sodas. In most of the Northern states, from Washington to western halves of New York and Pennsylvania the same beverages would be referred to as Pop. In the South, at least from New Mexico through Georgia, the generic term for all varieties of these beverages is Coke. I was born and raised in California, but my family is from Texas. So growing up, I always heard, What kind of Coke do you want? So, when I walked into Pops I said, Damn, that's the most kinds of Coke I've ever seen! The selection here is impressive in depth and breadth. Multiple varieties of most flavors. Even if you move fast it takes a long time to see everything. And you can be 100% sure I was going to see every last bottle before I made my purchase. I was limiting myself to two Cokes and I had to get this right. OK, I knew right off at least one of my choices would be a Root Beer, so I could've went right to the Root Beer section and started choosing. But that's not how I roll. I had to start at one end of the cold case and go door to door, shelf by shelf so I could fully immerse myself in this magnificent Coke experience. It's sort of a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Some of the craziest "pop" flavors you could imagine, and I'm giving you credit for an excellent imagination. But it's the wild kaleidoscope of color that draws you to the cold cases and holds your attention like one of those gigantic industrial electro magnets they use to pick up crushed cars. And after the full Cold Case Experience, there are aisles and aisles of shelves with more choices. And then, after all that, Pops has a terrific selection of candy. I was impressed that they had so many difficult to find candy bars, like 5th Avenue and Zagnut. I mean, when was the last time you saw a Look bar for sale? Or Clark Bars? Pops got 'em! And they have those old timey cube shaped Cinnamon suckers. And those weird square shaped Assorted Flavor Charms. Plus the best selection of Reed's Candies I've ever seen (first time ever seeing Peppermint). I was astonished to see that Pop's only has a 3 1/2 Star rating on Yelp, because this place is so 5 Star to me. We ate breakfast here about two weeks ago because it was convenient timing with our desire to be at the tourist soda ranch store on our road trip. I would give the tourist stop a 5-star experience. However, the restaurant is as not a 5 star experience. We had to ask for spoons to stir in our coffee/ tea add ins. We had to ask for syrup after our pancakes made it to the table. Forks came with our plates but we had to ask for knives to cut our food. One order wasn't made correctly and the waitress seemed to have difficulty with understanding we wanted it made right, not Mickey moused after and call it good. Staff took calls with the volume turned way up on speaker phone taking over the volume and space of patrons having an enjoyable chat at the tables. The food was fine and comparable to other dinners, but a little more pricey due to the location and didn't feel worth it with this experience. I would come back to the tourist shop but skip eating there again. The shop has a great variety of sodas and picking out your six pack is a fun experience. Hadn't been here in a while so we drove out. Had the dog with us so it was a good spot for her to get out. My experience here was one of the worst I've had in a restaurant. We drove over an hour to eat dinner here. When we arrived there was only 3 tables there. The server said she was gonna clean a table under the glass for us and my daughter said she didn't feel comfortable sitting under those glass shelves and bottles so I asked to sit in a booth instead. She said booths are only for 5 ppl or more (even tho the 2 booths occupied had 3 ppl at them and all the other booths were empty) so we sat at the bar. Sodas came out then our meals but no appetizer until 10 minutes later and the quesadilla and fries were cold and soggy. The food was terrible, cold, overcooked, and when asked if I wanted a Togo box bc we didn't eat hardly any of it i responded with "no thank you it wasn't good" she walked away and brought our ticket. Such a fun little stop on our adventures through Oklahoma! We stopped here to grab a quick afternoon pick me up. The inside had just been re-done and was very clean and bright. We grabbed a milkshake and onion rings. Both tasted really great. My wife and I made the trip from Tulsa to OKC. Via. Route 66. We make this trip every couple of years. One of our stops along the way is POPs. This is such a Unique place. That can take care of most travelers needs. They have fuel for your transportation, good food, snacks and unbelievable amount of sodas. The sodas line the outside walls from the floor to the ceiling. I don't think there any other place on earth that has the variety as POPs. They also have some trinkets and T-shirts for souvenirs. Such a cool and historic spot - giant wire frame sculpture of a soda pop bottle and inside, a diner with a convenience store selling every variety of soda you can think of. Put back there is also a nice lawn area with benches where you can sit and relax and where kids can play. I got an apple pie shake from the diner and it was amazing. The service here is so bad. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this experience was pretty rough. It was 20 mins before anyone even came over to our table to get drink orders after they sat us. The food also took forever to come out, was lukewarm, and definitely wasn't worth the wait! I can't speak to the food or inside service. The gas station portion needs attention. We have lived in Arcadia just over a year and stop for gas a few times per week. The air has been out of order for as long as my husband and I can recall, there is never liquid in the reservoir to wash vehicle windows, paper towel holders are empty & the trash is often overflowing. They currently have a modified trailer where you can get convenience snacks, memorabilia shirts and a few if the various pops. What a fun place to stop (or take a detour)! This is a gas station, convenience story and soda shop / diner along Route 66. While here, we picked up some road trip supplies including a selection of "pop" from their extensive selection and had lunch. I was craving chili cheese fries and they delivered, the burger was good and my friend can't stop raving about the root beer bread pudding, which I have to admit was delicious even though I don't really have a sweet tooth. Cute place to pop into. If you're a soda connosouir, they probably have any kind you might think you want! I'm not, but my friend is and she put together a cool 6 pack to bring home. Server was great! She helped out this gal who just can't eat a 1/3 pound burger - HUGE. The kids burger is a 1/4 pound burger - big for a kiddo, too! Suggestion- have a senior menu selection with meals that can be eaten by those of us with smaller appetites so no food wasted. Doesn't even need to be a big selection, just some smaller portions. We discovered Pop's in 2015 and recently revisited it. They have a crazy big selection of sodas you've never seen or heard of before. They also have a diner with burgers and such.
