On a Saturday afternoon, we took a short drive from Edmond down Route 66 to try Blockman's Chophouse. We had an early reservation at 4pm. Limited seating so I would recommend making reservations for later dining. Atmosphere is rustic and cozy. Our table for two was seated in front of the meat counter with people coming and going to purchase meat to take home. There also is an array of other items to purchase for home consumption. Our server was friendly and helpful in our selection for dinner. Our steaks cooked perfectly, Mac&Cheese a little dry for my liking, and wedge salad with blue cheese dressing was on point. Had we been asked, we would have answered immediately. The concern you mentioned about booth comfort was not communicated to us at any point. Instead, you explained at the table that reservations are pre‑assigned to specific seats and that this has caused issues for other guests. Given that explanation, it is not accurate to attribute the delay to assumptions about my comfort rather than to the reservation process itself. Additionally, mentioning this after the fact in your response comes across as unnecessary and passive‑aggressive bullying about my size. A straightforward question at the time would have resolved the seating without delay. Watching multiple parties with the same reservation time be seated ahead of us, without explanation, understandably felt dismissive--particularly since our first visit was also a birthday celebration. Second, regarding the wine: I did not request Lambrusco. I asked whether you had an Italian red similar to a Gaudio wine that I enjoy at upscale steakhouses, or anything on your list that fit my preferences. Your sommelier was polite, attentive, and genuinely tried to help, which I appreciated. Regarding the steaks: the first steak served to me was medium, not well‑done. The second attempt was still visibly pink throughout, not medium‑well and definitely not well done. I ended up eating later than the rest of my group and still did not receive the temperature I ordered. Additionally, three of the four steaks at our table were cooked incorrectly--one undercooked, one overcooked, and mine undercooked twice. I did not mention this in my initial review because I chose to focus only on my own experience, but given the nature of your response, it's important context. Your statement that I was "immediately upset" is not accurate. I was disappointed by the seating situation and the explanation given, but I remained polite. My frustration developed only as multiple issues occurred over the course of the meal. I appreciate that you chose to comp my meal, although I declined it several times and expressed clearly that it was not necessary as I do not dine out expecting complimentary items. My review was intended to be honest, not negative. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations for a celebratory first visit. My husband and I have been very excited to try this place! It's incredibly convenient to have a nice place to eat very close to home and these guys far exceeded my expectations. First, the interior of this place has been completely transformed. It's quaint, cozy with a classy vibe. Perfect for any date night. There is a butcher counter separating the kitchen from the dining area where they sell steaks, pork, chicken and other high end meats. I've been to purchase meat to take home twice. I've had the wagyu ribeye, duroc chorizo, and the perfectly frenched airline chicken breasts. Everything I've bought from the butcher counter and taken home has been exquisite! Plus everyone that works there is incredibly friendly and helpful! Just having a quality place to buy meat has ensured this place will be busy for years to come. Last night my husband and I had the pleasure of dining here--finally!! The level of service and care as soon as you enter is incredible. It's obvious the owners were very selective on who would be taking care of their patrons when staffing Blockman's. The menu is set up as a multi course dinner and you just choose and pay for your main course. We had cocktails that were amazing and started with some incredible warm rolls followed by dinner salads. The salads were simple and fresh and a perfect way to start our main course. My husband chose the filet and the chicken entree was highly recommended so that's what I chose. We had the beef tallow fries, green beans, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese as sides to our dishes. Everything was exquisite but the stand outs were the fries and the chicken dish. I rarely order chicken when I'm dining out because it usually lacks flavor and ends up being dry but this chicken dish was perfectly seasoned and miles away from being dry. I would come back here time and time again just for this chicken. It's to die for and I highly recommend it. The menu is very interesting for a steak house, you order your protein and it comes with salad, two sides and a slice of Oklahoma Cafeteria Cake. I personally have never been to a steakhouse that isn't a la carte. We had reservations and still had to wait an additional 45 to almost an hour more. The food was delicious the steaks are Waygu. I ordered the filet mignon with waygu beef tallow fries and the macaroni and cheese.The atmosphere was loud with music and patrons talking over the music and people at the bar, not expecting the volume honestly from a Steakhouse. With that being said I would go again and try an earlier time to maybe avoid the later night loudness. read more

The steak is absolutely incredible and worth every $. My husband had the ribeye and I had the filet mignon. Both were melt in your mouth incredible. Probably the best steak I've ever had. We really liked the sides and the Caesar salad. Mac and cheese is 10/10, French fries, mashed potatoes and the carrots are all great. Drinks were amazing (Espresso Martini and Old Fashion). They did an incredible job with the makeover from the pizza shack that was there before. From music to lightning, the ambiance is perfect for date night. Our waitress was attentive and very sweet. Multiple servers checked on us, refilled our water and our waitress boxed up our leftovers for us (things like that always go the extra mile for me!) Lastly, the rolls are again, some of the best I've had. The chocolate cake feels like my childhood and is perfect end to dinner. I have no complaints whatsoever. We had a table of 4 And two of us chose the 10oz filets and the others had the 14oz New York Strip. Either wedge or Caesar salads..I had blue cheese on my wedge and it was excellent. Now the sides of mash potatoes and green beans was a great choice. Mushrooms and carrots you can't go wrong either. The steaks were cooked perfectly and taste was off the chain..no kidding! We had an 8:15 PM reservation for 8 people for a birthday dinner, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. The restaurant clearly states that reservations have a 1.5-hour seating limit. The party seated before us had a 6:30 PM reservation and was still at the table at 9:00 PM. When we asked about it, the manager told us they had "spent a lot of money" and he was not going to ask them to leave. At that point, it was obvious our reservation was never going to be honored, so our entire party ended up leaving. We understand that delays can happen at busy restaurants, but if you advertise a 90-minute reservation window, you should either honor that policy or stop pretending it exists. What made this especially frustrating was hearing the manager openly admit that the policy did not apply because the other table had spent enough money. So apparently some guests' reservations matter more than others. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration, and instead it was completely ruined by poor management and a lack of basic hospitality. A simple apology in, honest communication, or effort to accommodate us would have gone a long way. None of that happened. Very disappointing experience, especially for a special occasion. read more

We actually got some meat from the butcher shop here for our Thanksgiving meal and that was so delicious. We brought home salmon, ribeye and their marinated chicken. All were fantastic to make on our own. We then came today (day after Christmas) to dine in and brought my dad from out of town. We did an early dinner at 4:45. Service was so fast. I ordered their dirty martini with the bleu cheese olives. YUMMMMM. Then later a red wine. Also YUM. We had the 10oz filet mignon cook medium and the salmon cooked medium. Both came out to perfection and melted in your mouth with loads of flavor. I'm not a big fan on skin on salmon but this salmon skin was so crispy so we ate it and it was great and crunchy. For the side, we got the tallow fries, mushrooms, mac n cheese and green beans. ALL WERE PERFECT. Their ketchup is different and has a spice to it which I really enjoyed. We had our salads before the man course and both got a wedge. Mine with ranch and his with bleu cheese. The bacon on the salad was CHUNKY but also crispy We loved the thickness of the cut. Ended with their chocolate cake which is a sweet ending to the dinner. Hands down one of our favorite steakhouses now. Not with only the food but the service the whole evening. read more

When we confronted the manager about this, he informed us that the previous party was still at our table, and had been there for 2.5 hours.
