Who sells a meatball sandwich WITHOUT red sauce! Cashiers should advise customers they have a choice of red sauce or naked balls!

I ordered a gyros sandwich plain but sauce on the side. They charged me $.79 for that admitting if I wanted the sauce on the sandwich it was no charge. So... same sauce. Charged if I wanted less sauce on the side but not drenched in sandwich. I tried with the manager on duty who admitted this. Dumbest thing I ever heard. No more pops beef for me. Back to Portillo where they overcharge you be lit without deception. read more

I purchased 4 hot dogs and some of the bread was hard. The person fixing the hot dogs had to feel it was hard when they picked up the bread. I guess it did not matter to them. I have gotten hot dogs before there and the hot dog were cold. read more

First time trying Pops beef at a gas station and probably the last time. I ordered a cheese dog to fill my stomach til I get home from work. How can u mess up a cheese dog right? Well I got my order carried it out to the work truck, Filled up with gas and got back on the road to get home. About 5 minutes into my drive I decided to finally eat my cheese dog. Tonight 3/15/25 at 8:15pm went to Pops Beef 1201 South Jefferson in Shorewood IL I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a small fry. I reside less than 10mins from the location. Once I got home and opened the bag and removed the burgers I found they were old. The burgers appeared as if they had been sitting for a while. the bread was cold the burgers were dry cold. When a burger is hot the bun is at least warm the cheese was cold one could tell the burgers were old. I took it back and I was refused a refund or a new burger as the owner felt the burger was cold because I took it home one can tell old food when purchasing fresh. I will never go back there. read more

The food is outstanding! Fries are awesome thin and perfectly salted! I got the chicken pita which has a crazy amount of chicken breast that was cooked to perfection. Fiancé got the beef and loved that too. The only reason I'm not rating it a 5 is he service was unfriendly and almost seemed bothered that we came in to order food. read more

I love their Italian Beef sandwiches, with their hot peppers. Fries are fantastic as well. Service yesterday was what appeared to be a bother. The girl had no conversation at all! She didn't even say Thank you! This is my biggest pet peeve! I am giving you my money, which in turn goes on your check and you can't say thank you? This just wasn't to me, it was to the other 3 people in line as well. Service entices the dining experience and can push the restaurant to be better or the other way. Update: Once again I cam in on Tuesday night and had the same girl take my order. I believe her name is Keightlyn. She clearly does not like to work and everything seems to be a bother. read more

Love Italian beef I always ask for it double dipped I like it soaked. They are pretty fast so your not waiting forever to get your food, even gave a little sitting area to eat if you want but I usually take to go read more

This is a pretty decent Pops, there's never a line here. So it's easy to get in and out pretty quickly. And the staff is always friendly and quick. There has been a time where I've gotten some really salty meat but mostly everything is pretty tasty. I'd give them another try. read more

I LOVE pops. Especially their giardiniera. I called to place a pick up order and wanted to pay cash as the place is always busy and I didn't have time to wait. The guy who answered said only card could be taken and when I mid sentence saying that's okay I'll go somewhere else he hung up on me. I get some places want card only but there is no reason to be rude and hang up. I will definitely make the extra drive to Lockport when I want pop's in the future. read more

I will give only 1 star only because yelp will not let me post the review without filling a star in, but honestly customer service was so bad that they don't deserve any stars! I went in there because my friend told me there's a text special for beef sandwich for 3.99 so I thought I would give this place a try well because I didn't have the text they didn't want to honor the 3.99 special ,for a NEW customer ,so I guess I will NOT be a customer at all. I felt that Caroli at the register was pretty rude to me ,being she is the daughter of one of the owners she should of been able to give better customer service. I called the manager at the Joliet location and she said there's a protocol they follow and there's a code to enter from the text well my friend just sent me the text and there is no code so very bad customer service and to top it off liars. I added a picture of the text to clearly see there's no code!!!! To sell a good product you need excellent customer service and this places customer service was garbage. Oh the manager offered me 2$ off on my next visit but there will NOT be a next visit I will never go there again and neither will anybody who asks me about it because my first impression was very disappointing that's the information I will give to anyone who asks me about pops!!! read more
