Good portion sizes, decent tasting. I tried the ribeye sandwich, cheese fries, and jalapeño poppers. Repeatable fair pricing

    Double cheese w everything.

Sorry for the half eaten burger pic. But I had to post. Been going for years and never posted. Got today's burger special and absolutely delicious burger. Crispy fires.

It's bus your own table day...

Normally this is a pretty decent place: good food, clean tables and competent staff. Today, however, they get a failing grade. Rude counter staff, filthy tables and it took quite a while to get the food. I'll go to Novi's next time.

I wasn't sure how well I would like the first sandwich, so I opted for a "normal" size and wish I would have ordered the 9" Super beef sandwich.

Don't refuse the big portions of pita bread, when offered; the pita was warm and fluffy. The Serbian salad of tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and mild cheese , all ingredients marinated in a mild, clear sauce , was a meal that can be shared by two ( or more). My spouse had the marinated mushrooms with chicken , which was very flavorful; the accompanying fries were a joy to eat. I had the signature 'stew' , which went by a local name, with subliminal spices; also very good in quantity and quality. When the food is accompanied by a thoughtful waitress , the experience is really enjoyable: she made recommendations and ensured ou experience was engaging. Not much to see here in terms of decor, but if adventurous food and welcoming people is higher on your list, then please visit.

Said it's what they grew up with and they've not had better. The friend I was traveling with was on board so it's how we both ended up having Serbian in Chicago. Lots of parking. Small private lot. Street parking galore. It was a sleepy evening. There was only one party (of four) when we went in. I have to admit, I was skeptical. But the aroma wafting from the kitchen ... My friend and I shared everything. Generous portions. I stuffed myself beyond what I should have. But I couldn't get enough of the grilled meats and roasted vegetables. I could have eaten nothing but the lepinja and kajmak but putting them altogether was so tasty that I just kept eating and eating. The one woman show - she was awesome. Not much English but wasn't needed. She was so pleasant and welcoming and the barrier wasn't an issue - at least for me. As she was a one person team FOH, there were times I wondered if she was also in the back cooking as she would be gone here and there but would show up right when she was needed. I don't know of many Serbian restaurants here in SoCal but when I do (and remember that is), I'll definitely go and see if it compares. I just know it was an excellent meal on my last evening in Chicago for my summer road trip.

Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

We stopped by Wooden Paddle in La Grange and ordered the "Just Send It" platter to share, the Snap…read moreInto It salad, and the Buzzkill pizza. The food was really good! Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and we enjoyed what we ordered. The Buzzkill pizza was delicious, and the appetizer platter was a great option for the table. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to seat us, another 10-15 minutes before someone took our order, and when our Snap Into It salad arrived (for a party of three), it only came with two pieces of bread, so we had to ask for a third. At the end of the meal, we waited around 20 minutes just to get our check. The surprising part was that the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so the slow service was hard to understand. The food was definitely the highlight, but because of the overall service experience, I don't think I'd return.

I am addicted to dolmades, and I only know one place with better dolmades (in Clarendon at much higher price than grapevine). The homemade pastitsio is very good. I would prefer a slightly modified sauce but still think it is very very good. I certainly do NOT go to a restaurant for bread. But Their Greek style break is very good and excellent for dipping into the lemon (or other) sauces. Prices are very good considering the quality is excellent. The place itself is informal. Clean with an open kitchen (which i like very much prefer). Also very good for takeout. Have not tried many other of their dishes because i love the dolmades and pastitsio so much.

I then tried it and agreed, so I called over the owner to which she said that's impossible that she tasted the food mind you she's probably in her late 70s early 80s. She told me it was our imagination and told me I needed to take it home. This was probably due to her, not wanting to make a scene in her own restaurant. She offered my fiancé bread in exchange for a $20 dish. What an absolute disgrace of a restaurant and a person.
