Ok so I go there around 9:50pm 10 mins before they closed I even asked a lady are you guys still open (serve ring) and I got a yes. I ordered a double cheese burger meal, they told me comes with fries and drink..... So I order less then 2 mins I got my burger and everything (which was kinda weird how you cook a burger that fast but I'm fine it's that) I get home and the fries are legit probably the oldest fries I have ever eaten. I don't care what people say about this because someone's gonna say "you should knew you would get old fries going before they close" naw that's not business that's there's to tell me that the fries are not available anymore.... Not give me the fries and there old as shit hard as a rock. Like come on. I have been coming to Pops for many years. The food never disappoints and the staff is amazing. They are always helpful and friendly. I love the grilled chicken garden salad with their garlic dressing and my children love the chicken fingers, cheeseburgers and shakes. You cannot go wrong with a beef sandwich or pizza puff. you can always count on Pops for some dependable, decent, good fast food for a fairly decent, but not great price. service is pretty quick, not much room to eat on the premesis, and a poor skinny lot to park in, or the busy street. A lot of sloppy looking mt. Greenwood Hillbilly types come in there looking unbathed and sometimes wearing their pajamas or beat up sweats. Not a classy place at all. Best beef on the south side! I recommend the cheesy beef. My daughter who is not a meat fan loves the meatball sandwhiches and has to have the onion rings. The fries are always crispy and fresh. Fast service and consistantly good food. read more

It's a hotdog stand with little seating and quick food to go, there's nothing to blow it out of the water, but hotdogs are solid and basically everything is served with fries. I'd return, it's nothing special, but it's decent like any other Pop's. read more

I am a very picky person when it comes to meat. I do not enjoy fatty beef sandwiches. I agree that Pop's has the ultimate beef sandwiches. They will prepare your sandwich any way that you want it - and they will get it right every time. I am in love with the huge sport peppers they put on their beef sandwich too. I have been going to Pop's since my dad brought me there as a kid - over 35 years now- and they have never changed their service. I went to pops on Friday September 16th. 2016. I hadn't been there for about 5 years. I ordered a breaded steak sandwich, a fry and a 6 in combo for my brother. The food was horrible. The steak had a smiget of sauce, the steak was so dry my dog didn't want it, I threw it on the garbage. On the other my brothers was worse his sandwich sent him to the emergency room. Never again. this place is an MG staple on kedzie. great beef sandwiches and thin cut french fries. friendly, FAST service. in and out in no time flat pretty much every time, even when they are really busy. i hit this place as often as possible for a shake in the summertime as well. i think they have 50 or so different flavors, but, i stick with the blueberry... one wish, maybe a little more dining space to eat there, even though i'm in the neighborhood and home isn't far. read more

Great beef and peppers are made in-house, which is why they are different than other places. Peppers have a fresh taste and not a jarred taste. Pizza puffs and steak sandwiches are great too. Drove from St. Louis to visit family and this was one of my first stops. read more

Don't think I have ever had anything bad from this place. I like my staples...the Italian Beef, Italian Sausage and Triple Swiss Burger but everything else I have had has been great. The owners Jim and Sherie could not be nicer. The beef sandwich is consistently good with the perfect beef gravy. The burgers are huge and not frozen patties. It gets crowded but they do a good job of putting the orders in fast.
