Great bagels, great smears, great truffle butter. We got a bag of everything bagels and the spicy scallion smear & truffle butter. Everything was delicious and so fresh. Love the tear and dip method of eating a bagel.

    30 bagels + 5 Schmears

I ordered the box of 30 bagels for a morning work event & it was delivered to midtown warm & on time. In the box we had 5 everything, 5 poppy seed, 5 sesame, 5 salt, & 10 plain. The variety was good but regretted not getting more of the everything bagels. All schmears were delicious!

Piping hot, fresh, delicious fluffy and chewy bagels with a hard crust. Exactly how I like them. I got a sesame, poppyseed, and everything, with spinach artichoke cream cheese. The portion of cream cheese they give you is generous. I expect New York to be expensive but three bagels with cream cheese for $13 seem like a great deal to me. I will definitely be back! Yum!

Fluffy warm and simply perfection. After a day of nonstop eating we found ourselves at popup bagels. You can only order bagels in groups, we decided on the three pack with smear. We went with the salt, sesame and the everything with scallion cream cheese. Of the three my favorite was the sesame, it was nutty and had that slightly crusty exterior but fluffy and light interior. There was one table inside but people seemed to be ripping into their bagels on the street outside or standing. Would recommend as a tip nyc bagel if you're not looking for a bagel sandwich. They do only bagels and cream cheese here!

Went back to this bagel shop as we have a bunch of people coming for lox and breakfast. Everyone raved about these bagels and commented on how delicious they were. I do now only purchase on demand and do not order in advance anymore. I give in they are pretty dense and delicious. But I will only get this when I have guests coming over. Got the classic scallion smear and the speciality one spinach and artichoke. Both were excellent.

Heard about this place among others and decided we need to try it. It was one of 3 bagel places we hit in 3 consecutive days. Have to say this was probably tied for the best. Cute small shop where you can see the bagels being made fresh. Ordered 4 bagels (3 minimum) which came with cream cheese, we tried plain. Service was awesome as they quickly got us our hot fresh bagels, even brought out an extra stool for me to sit on as there were only 3 out. Ok now to the real review... my bagel had so much everything on it my mouth was watering. The flavor was amazing and the bagel was hot, toasty on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. It was a bit weird breaking apart the bagel and scooping it in the tub of cream cheese, especially when I had everything and others had plain... my seasoning was all mixed into the tub, but hey, my kids liked it so I am fine with it. I would prefer to spread the cream cheese but they were trying to be different and it worked. All in all, excellent bagel and we will definitely eat here again. This is a must try if in NYC.

These bagels were soooooo soft all around! Pop Up is fun because they have rotating schemers and butter flavors each week along with the classics like plain and scallion. I would highly recommend eating them right away, these bagels are best when fresh and warm! Can't wait to go back!!!

SUPER fluffy bagels especially when you eat it fresh. So fun to rip it and dip it into the shmears. Plenty of seeds attached to the bagel as well for nice texture. Flavor felt kind of on the lighter side but if you drench it in shmear not a problem. Also better for sharing because they sell by groups 3. The bagels aren't too big though so if you're by yourself you can try them all and save for later. I liked the sesame and poppy seed bagels the most because they added more flavor but whatever they have fresh out the fryer will taste the best! They don't have bagel sandwiches but they are worth the hype for their amazing texture alone!

Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese!

There's always a short line out the door but the wait is worth it, trust me! The bagels are hot and right out of the oven. You can only order the bagels in three's and it comes with a cream cheese or butter. Try the everything bagel and scallion cream cheese! If I lived closer, I would probably be going every weekend!

Had a great first experience at PopUp Bagels! Love that they have fun rotating butters and cream cheeses weekly. The everything bagel was perfect! These bagels come hot! Both of their weekly flavors were delicious. Something to note: the smallest amount of bagels you can get is 3! Smaller storefront, no tables, grab and go spot. Great service! Super friendly gentleman at the cashier.

Had to try pop up bagels due to the hype and have to say it's above average but not the best ever bagel First I loved the freshness of the bagels. They were warm, smelled so good and crunchy on the outside with a great chewiness on the inside. However, they don't stay good for long and went stale in 1 day. The scallion cream cheese was okay and basic. Nothing too special. Service was quick and friendly.

Plain Bagels with Pimento Cheese Schmear
    Patrick Z.

Finally decided to try this place out, Ive been waiting for a specialty schmear that Id really want to try to show up and this week they had a pimento cheese one that sounded amazinggggg. Bagels themselves were smaller than a typical ny bagel but taste wise it is probably one of the best ive had like the outside has suuuuuch a nice crust to it and it was crunchy while dipping and eating. Speaking of dipping, thats what the technique here was which was pretty fun not gonna lie. I tried the pimento cheese schmear as it was and it was okay... but then I thought that pimento cheese should be consumed hot and I then may have done something blasphemic to bagel culture and... i heated up the schmear... i know. Let me tell you though THAT WAS THE MOVE. The schmear was miles better and i looooooved it!! The vibe in the store was great too, good music and there was a noticeable change in the energy when I walked in! My order came so fast too!

    This butter was EVERYTHING! @veefoodlife
    Alvina C.

These bagels are a circle of happiness! First time trying these and having them still hot, fresh, and steaming was nothing short of AMAZING. They only have 5 kinds of bagels: plain, salt, sesame, poppy, and everything. They have little buckets of schmears of cream cheese or butters, some are weekly special flavors. I tried these plain, sesame, and everything bagel and the cacio e pepe butter! The bagels were glorious! Light crisp exterior and soft interior, the butter flavor was magical! I went on a Monday afternoon, no wait. Will definitely have them again next time I roll thru NYC!

Visit June 2026: I'm…read moreadmittedly not a bagel expert but when in NYC a bagel is a must. Supposedly so is eating a street hot dog but I'm not too sure on that lol. Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.

The bagel itself is pretty solid. It's fluffy and got a nice texture to it. Honestly though, I'm…read morenot sure I really fugg with the whole concept. You cannot order a single bagel, you must order your bagels in 3s. So if you're not a big back and instead are a loser with no friends, you might have more bagels than you can eat. The bagels come whole and you're supposed to rip them and dip them into the cream cheese, and there's many smears to choose from, which is a plus. However, this requires a two hand situation, which means it's difficult to eat on the go, and the seating inside is limited. I did not realize this at first and I was trying to slice my bagel in half with a butter knife, and I failed and started ripping it to shreds in a fit of passion and rage. That when I saw their neon sign that says "GRIP. RIP. DIP," which sounds sexual, and realized that's the concept and intention. My advice--if you're gonna visit, come with a couple friends so you can try the bagels without having to eat 3. And bring hand sanitizer so you're not ripping up the bagel with your filthy subway fingers.
