We went with the salt, sesame and the everything with scallion cream cheese. Of the three my favorite was the sesame, it was nutty and had that slightly crusty exterior but fluffy and light interior. Heard about this place among others and decided we need to try it. It was one of 3 bagel places we hit in 3 consecutive days. Have to say this was probably tied for the best. Cute small shop where you can see the bagels being made fresh. Ordered 4 bagels (3 minimum) which came with cream cheese, we tried plain. Service was awesome as they quickly got us our hot fresh bagels, even brought out an extra stool for me to sit on as there were only 3 out. Ok now to the real review... my bagel had so much everything on it my mouth was watering. The flavor was amazing and the bagel was hot, toasty on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. It was a bit weird breaking apart the bagel and scooping it in the tub of cream cheese, especially when I had everything and others had plain... my seasoning was all mixed into the tub, but hey, my kids liked it so I am fine with it. I would prefer to spread the cream cheese but they were trying to be different and it worked. All in all, excellent bagel and we will definitely eat here again. Flavor felt kind of on the lighter side but if you drench it in shmear not a problem. Also better for sharing because they sell by groups 3. Finally decided to try this place out, Ive been waiting for a specialty schmear that Id really want to try to show up and this week they had a pimento cheese one that sounded amazinggggg. The bagels are FRESH, and the rip and dip experience is quite fun, because they are that soft inside, and have a sturdy exterior. Don't wait to eat them, because they're best fresh. Such a great bagel spot that lives up to the hype! We went around 11am on a Saturday and the place was packed but with a fast-moving line that reached the door. You can buy a minimum of 3 bagels at a time and there are no bagel sandwiches made in house, but each 3/6/12 bagel pack comes with a schmear of your choice. We got everything and sesame bagels with the vegan cream cheese and they were all so fresh, warm, and fluffy from being right out of the oven. My daughter made me promise we wouldn't leave NYC until we tried the infamous Popup Bagels. I have to admit that I was eager to try it myself! My daughter and I attempted to walk there on a beautiful morning, but halfway there realized we weren't going to make it back in time to catch an uber to our flight. So we doordashed and headed back to the hotel to pack up. We thought we were out of luck when our uber showed up and no sign of doordash, but then the doordash biker literally pulled up as we were getting in the car. While LGA has turned into one of my favorite airports, Popup Bagels proved to be a better breakfast than anything they had to eat there. We ate too many bagels dipped in delicious scallon schmear...and ate more on the airplane. My daughter, son and I agreed that these are way better than any Chicago bagels. Then again I've yet to find a NY bagels that isn't since Chicago isn't known for their bagels. Was this the best bagel I've ever had? Not sure, but it was pretty good! This place is fine but it's not what I thought it was going to be. Maybe if I had a group of friends to eat with when I tried it this place makes more sense because it's for sharing a bunch of minis but for one or two people it's kinda tedious you might as well get a single bagel somewhere else. Our wait wasn't too long, I watched the guy in the back boiling bagels before they were put in the oven. I went in knowing these were different than your "typical" NY bagel. The idea is to rip and dip your bagels into the cream cheese, which I had no problem with. Flashbacks of how I used to eat my food when I had braces. Lols My bagels were warm and fresh. This is a small storefront with very limited indoor seating. There were two registers, so although there were multiple individuals in front of us, the line moved quickly. We got a 3-pack bagels (everything, sesame, and poppy) with smears (scallion cream cheese) to go. These bagels are so fluffy and warm. Bagels are really soft and fluffy, and they come out super fresh & delicious. If you like fluffy bread, this is for you. Can't argue that it tasted great. The vegan cream cheese comes in a squeeze packet. Best eaten on the day off. I had 1 the day after and not so good. Minimum you have to buy 3- so again, not like a regular bagel shop where you can buy just 1. Shop is very small- not much space for sitting. This is meant to be a to-go spot. There is a line usually but they are efficient and it moves quickly. They take your order in line to keep it moving, so be ready to know what you want!
