Saturday morning pulling up, optimistic. Met with a menu that made me buy bagels in increments of three. Odd but that's cool, I had two friends with me. Perfect. Popup Bagel is so deliciously addicting! I was so skeptical of the idea of ripping and dipping your bagel, but honestly it's genius. The bagels are always hot and fresh when you get them. We have been enjoying Popup Bagels since their grand opening! My husband always picks up our bagels early in the morning when they first open to avoid the lines. The bagels are the best I have had in South Tampa after living in the area for the past 25 years. The bagels are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and the everything bagels are covered in tons of everything seasoning and flakey salt. Popup Bagels is worth the hype! The smell when you walk in is so tantalizing. I went early in the morning so there was no line and I had my order immediately taken and given to me. There is an area on the side of the of the building for online order pickup. I opted for the 3 pack (everything, plain and salt bagels) with the vegan cream cheese. I made my usual avocado on the everything bagel and it was delicious. Soft, hot and very flavorful bagels. Although I made a mess with the everything bagel toppings. I had never been a big bagel lover because I always felt like the bread was too chewy and then when you warm it up or toast it it's too crusty and crunchy. But pop-up bagels have changed my mind on that. The bagels were very flavorful and came out fresh and hot and they put them in the bag while they were steaming. I had the salt, sesame and everything bagel. The staff told me salt was the best and i should've got all salt bagels. But I'll be back for more! The staff was nice , friendly and lively. Everyone has been ranting and raving about PopUp Bagels and at first I was hesitant. I could not imagine bagels being that good. When they first opened there were probably a hundred people in line wrapped around the building. I finally went on Saturday and luckily it was not a long wait. We got everything, plain, and salt bagels. This week we tried the mac and cheese cream cheese and the truffle cream cheese. Please bring back the truffle cream cheese because it was insane. I am not a big fan of Crumbl Cookies but this is something I can get behind. The bagels are light and fluffy and you rip and dip into the cream cheese which I love. I am dying to go back just to try more. I only wish they did not close at 3 because I would totally stop by after work. The staff was nice and quick. Really enjoyed this new bagel spot in Tampa! It was poppin on a Saturday morning and the workers were bustling around like a busy bagel factory. Even though they were busy, as soon as we walked in the workers called out to welcome us. The whole bagel making process was visible to the customers and we watched as fresh bagels were made and dumped into the boxes. We went with the simple 3 bagels + 1 spread option and got the sesame seed bagel, everything bagel, salt bagel, and the scallion cream cheese. When we got home and tried them, the bagels were still warm. The inside was nice and soft and we did the recommended method of tearing a piece of bagel off and scooping out the cream cheese with it. You can order online and go to the pickup to get order. One of the employees marks your paper bag of the order, you walk in and give your paper bag to the cashier. I shared the 3 bagels with one other person and it was perfect for a meal, since these bagels aren't super dense or big. The ambiance is alright, there's some seating inside and some outside but it does get a bit crowded. The people making orders shout things out like "hot bagels," but it can get a little overstimulating. New York! Massachusetts! Connecticut! Tampa? Yes!!!! This bagel joint popped up here... and yay, us! This place is fun-and yum. I popped in on a Thursday morning and it was buzzing. The doors were wide open and the energy was humming. I was greeted right away by an enthusiastic employee, who walked me through the concept and choices. There are five flavors of bagels: plain, poppyseed, salt, sesame and everything. They were all baked fresh, right there (you can see into the open kitchen and watch them come out) and it smelled amazing in there. You have to order at least three bagels... and you get your choice of one schmear. I went with two salt and a sesame with the salted butter schmear. As they told me twice, the bagel culture here is rip and dip... the bagels aren't sliced or combined with something to make a sandwich. You pull 'em apart and swirl or dunk right into that tub o' schmear. Sure, I'm in! Oh yeah, that warm, fresh sesame bagel-which was somehow chewy and light at the same time-with the perfect amount of seeds-and was so flavorful, even without the added spread... was perfect with it. That salted butter started to melt in--and I went with it. It was love at first bite. Quite simply, that was the best sesame bagel I've ever had. I can laminate that-it's a lock. And I enjoyed the salt bagels, too. So, the bagel flavors stay the same-and there are three steady schmears: salted butter, plain cream cheese and scallion cream cheese. They also have two special schmears each week. When I was there, they were: lemon caper dill butter and caramelized onion cream cheese. (Next week, it's truffle butter and Kraft Mac n cheese cream cheese!) You can also add smoked salmon to your bagel. But that's it, that's the menu. They do what they do and they do it well. This shop is on West Kennedy Boulevard... near Westshore Mall-at the end of a strip mall. It's full of natural light-and bright, colors. The vibes are young and on the move. There are two high top, bright yellow tables to stand at-and a couple of orange high tops with stools, out front. This isn't a place to hang out and work or study all day. It's too high voltage for that. Enthusiastic staff... dedicated branding... next level bagels... and yay, lots of parking and a walk up window, outside on the side, for pre-orders... yeah, I'll be back! I love how focused Pop Up Bagels business model is. They sell freshly made, straight into the bag bagels and schmear (cream cheese). Period. Options like Jalapeño cream cheese and Ocean Spray cranberry butter are utterly unique and really well done. Candidly, I don't know that I've ever had a freshly baked bagel. They're amazing. Great standard menu, wide array of specialty options, plenty of parking in the back, spotless, great staff (who take a moment w you to explain the ordering process and what's available), some good SWAG, juices and a little bit of outdoor seating. Again, a targeted objective and perfectly executed. Get there and get a three pack or a sample dozen asap. Don't want to create unfair expectations but I think a friendly approach in my part might have gotten me a fourth bagel dropped into my three pack! read more

Really good bagels and schmears. I do wish that they would be full service (ie cut and toast my bagels, make a sandwich), but they do have a nice product overall. They make their bagels fresh, so you can get what is on hand, or you have to wait until the bagel flavor you want is finished baking.
