    Pork Hawaiian BBQ

Pork Chop's BBQ in Flemington,NJ is your go to place if you're craving for BBQ's ( Portuguese style ). There's a lot of dishes to pick and for surely you'll enjoy the quality of their foods plus the friendly staff and quality service. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll smell all the kinds of meat that they're grilling on charcoal pit. You'll be amazed on how they are doing it there in front of customers. To see is to believe. Price is reasonable, foods are delicious and very good customer service. We had been here many times already. Common, give it a try and you'll never regret it.

3/4 of our Full Rack Pork Ribs BBQ were inedible. Super charred and dry. Disappointing.

Pork chop bbq. Needs to do better. The ribs should not have been released to the customer.

This is the second Portuguese Barbecue spot in Flemington that I've tried and I really enjoyed this place! I think I prefer this one. Online ordering is available and was very easy. My takeout order was ready on time. It seems like it's largely a takeout pot but there is seating inside and it's very casual. There was couple enjoying their food with a bottle of wine when I walked in for my takeout order, though. We tried the BBQ chicken with Spanish rice and plantains, the steak with rice and cornbread and the pork ribs with plantains and black beans. We loved the tenderness of the chicken but didn't love the heavy smokey flavor that came along with it. Maybe the Hawaiian chicken will be different? The steak was seasoned really well, very garlicky, but wish it was a little more tender. The pork ribs were very tender and delicious. The rice was perfect and the plantains were amazing. I only wish they gave you a larger portion of the plantains. We also tried the beef empanadas and they were good too. The crust was very crispy. The cornbread side portion was huge, moist and flavorful and had bits of whole corn throughout. The black beans were standard and good. Next time I'll try the steamed veggies with garlic as a side. The overall portion sizes were huge and each meal is enough for two people or one really hungry person with some leftovers. This is a great way to have a semi home cooked meal as takeout.

Really delicious Portuguese BBQ. Came in for the first time and wanted to try everything on the menu! The service was very friendly and polite. Spacious location where there are some tables for sit down or take out. The smell of BBQ was so enticing as if you were at a family BBQ gathering. Definitely will be coming again and trying the other options!

    Fatty meat.

Ordered takeout from Porkchop's because Flemington was closed. I ordered pork and shrimp picadinho. While the taste was decent, the meat was very fatty. Low quality meat, unlike the cubes most places provide. Also, the restaurant had a fly problem. Would not return.

When you open the door the smoke hits you and the smell made my mouth water. Our appetizer of Chorica (what I knew as Chorizo) is Portuguese sausage, onions & peppers ..tasted great and was a very large portion. We also had a pork Empanada which was very flavorful and not overly greasy. Main included: Pulled Pork sandwich and a 1/2 rack of pork ribs. The ribs had a nice smokey taste and the house BBQ sauce were a perfect combination for the fall off the bone meat. FYI - the kids got Grilled Cheese sandwiches which are made on the flattop in a roll...they were awesome! The few bites the kids didn't eat we gladly finished off.

Great lunch place. Excellent bbq. My favorite is the brisket sandwich, so tender, juicy and flavorful.

We've passed this spot so many times and never went in. Wellll, we finally had the chance to swing by and eat in because some of this food is not meant to be eaten as take out. I ordered the short ribs with Hawaiian bbq with fries. My husband ordered ribs with chicken. I think our eyes ordered and not our stomachs because the portions are HUGE. If you want to get a flavor of stuff, certainly order what you want but you'll definitely have leftovers. The portions are big enough to share that's for sure. The ribs were pretty good and so was the chicken. I enjoyed the short ribs and Hawaiian bbq...both had lots of flavor. Some part of the short ribs were a bit chewy but otherwise really good! The mound of fries were really crispy and the plantains were delicious. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!

Came across this place in DoorDash and tried it out since I was pressed for time during our move to Flemington. This place is great! Portions are big and every bite is delish! I ended up ordering the family meal which came with 6 sides. I was very surprised that they sell Filipino egg roll here... SCORE! I will definitely order from them again!

Randomly found this place on my way back to Philly and it HIT THE SPOT! It's nothing sexy at all, but the food was amazing and the people we're friendly. Meat on a stick was cooked to perfection, the cornbread was moist, and I always love me some fried plantains. I'm not usually out this way but the next time I am you'll find me here. Definitely check out this spot and enjoy the meat sweats. :-)

After looking more closely at the different options, this one seemed most aligned to my parents' diet, so we decided on this. I had also asked a colleague who lives in the area about this vs another BBQ place I've visited before in the area (Pork Chops BBQ), and he had good things to say about Flemington BBQ, so I decided on this. When we arrived my parents realized they'd visited this spot before and enjoyed it. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, though some of the staff have more limited English. Still very hospitable, though, and it's a pretty good space. Lots of seating inside, casual look and feel. This place seemed similar to Clark BBQ, another place we've been to, and this one appears to have more room than the one in Clark (but prices are a bit higher). We ordered three platters - chicken, pork spare ribs, and grilled sardines - and all of the food was really good. All of the meats were nicely crisped and flavored, and the sides were good too (yellow rice, fries, veggies). I liked the food a lot, and I would go back for another meal! They also served bread to start the meal, which is a nice touch.

The owner was super friendly and outgoing. He provided lots of communication, and at the end of my time there asked how everything was. I ordered a chicken breast sandwich which came with fries. It was a delicious sandwich served on a fresh Portuguese roll. The accompanying fries were generously portioned and just the perfect amount of crispy. For future visits, I hope to explore deeper into the menu. My one critique on the place - today is a 100 degree day here in Flemington, and the restaurant's dining room was very warm. Not sure if their air conditioner broke, or they just don't have A/C.

The waitstaff is super friendly, has some jokes, multi-talented (they brought out the guitar a few times to wish some other folks happy birthday), and knowledgeable. The food is really good - everything I tried was just delicious. For the table, we ordered some calamari and empanadas, and both were good. Drinks were also tasty - that sangria was really good, and the mojito (love that they had it available, first of all!) was also a hit. I would double-click on that sangria, though. For my entree, I ordered their whole fish, which was not only delicious but HUGE. I ate about half of it and was full. Then my friend and I split an order of limoncello cake (I think that's what it was), which was on point, and ended w/ espresso, also good. Overall, everything about that place was great, and when I mentioned a Spanish place in Trenton the next morning to some guys I was with, one of them asked, was it Malaga? Everyone also enjoyed the fries, which is included in most meals. Also, the "white rice" is more of a pilaf (as it includes bits of carrot and peas), which was also tasty. The hot sauce by the table is sour and a bit hot. While I didn't personally enjoy it, I've tasted something similar at other BBQ joints, so it's more about personal preference. Note: the ribs don't need sauce as it uses a dry rub. I just tried the hot sauce as I was curious. Note: this placed used to be a restaurant called Brasa; hence, why you'll see "brasa" in their website's URL but not on the sign outside. Also, the portions are huge; no one finished everything. I ordered the full plat of ribs to share with someone else and we still had left overs. Will definitely return if I'm in the mood for BBQ. I was thinking the experience should be good since it should be more personal than that other hit-or-miss big chain Brazilian Rodizio. I was wrong. The decor was nice but the waiting area was oddly situated where people could be in the way of the food coming out of the kitchen. We were seated at the far end of the main dining hall. My 2nd son and I ordered the Rodizio. My wife and daughter ordered the Picaña steak, my eldest son had the Skirt steak. The first three Rodizio choices came out early. They were the chicken wing, the sausages and a BBQ Ribeye. The chicken and sausages were flavorful. The BBQ Ribeye was dry. Then, the other steaks came out. They did take awhile. They were supposed to be medium rare. My wife was medium, close to medium well. But, we were so hungry, we let it slide. Her steak was was under seasoned. Meanwhile, the Rodizio meats weren't making to our table. 10 mins passed since the last meat received and nothing came by. We'd see tables closer to the entrance and behind us receive the steaks on the skewers or the grilled pineapple, but not us. What kept on coming by were the chicken and the sausages again. There was a lamb brisket, that passed by. I tried it, it was bland and dry. I complained to the waiter about not getting any good meats. To his credit, he did say he'll do his best to get some to come. A manager came by and apologized and said that they were busy and they're trying to get them out as soon as possible. Another 10 mins and only shrimp came by. While the shrimp was being served, we saw a brand new batch of picaña come out and served to the table right next to us (who were just seated). Then, my table was skipped. It never circled back. I asked the waiter what's going on and mentioned about the Picaña skewer. He apologized again and said that he'll do something about it. But what was coming by us were the same chicken and sausages. We were almost two hours into our dining and still no good meats coming by. By then, I had enough and just asked for the bill. The waiter could tell I was far from pleased. By the time I signed the check, the Picaña and skirt Steak showed up. I tried them just for the heck of it. They were well done and dry. Afterwards, we stood up and left. $340 down the drain. No effort from management to try to appease a disappointed customer. We left utterly frustrated. If it weren't for our waiter who was doing his best, this place would have gotten a one star. Never coming back to this place.
