The 2016 YELP 500, Review #031: Decent pizza, awesome staff manning the place. The have a well-stocked cooler full of drinks on hand.. Oh and Loved the old time photos of Long Beach that adorned the walls. Before really saying anything... This is NOT a sit down pizzeria. Order and go! ORDER: Cheese pizza with an order of cinnamon knots. CRUST: I ordered the thick crust. Now don't try to compare this to deep dish because that is not what I said. It is simply thick and chewy. I almost said leathery but, that makes it sound tough. I dont care for a thick edge crust... this was on the sort of thick side. SAUCE: Marinara. Flavorful yet not intensely over powering acidic or nauseatingly sweet. Strictly a tomato flavor maybe a hint of garlic and salt... you be the judge because what I didn't have time to do was order a side of sauce and a straw! :-p As I pull apart my slice, I dont see much sign of anything more than a sprinkling of what might be oregano. So if you order cheese pizza and you like herbs and spices, stock up before hand but, if you are like me (yeah weird, I know) you will appreciate the raw natural state the cheese pizza these guys put out. TOPPING: The cheese is both abundant and tasty... the topography of the pie is not deluged with oil and not much of the sauce peeking through. Worst pizza I ever had that had me sitting on the toilet with the runs ALL of Friday from 12:08 am in the morning until 4:00 pm. We ask for the thin crust with pepperoni and mushroom, it was delivered lukewarm and too salty. This was the worst experience I've had with them, the last time we ordered the thin crust, they send us a regular crust, we called them and they waived the charges for the 32oz Coke. I ordered for the first time a couple of days ago and I must say, why did it take me so long to do so? I got fed up with Dominoe's stinginess on toppings and decided to give Porky's a try. I heard through my sister and her bf how good it is...been meaning to try them out. My friend who shared the pizza with me is picky about his pizza, didn't like Me n Eds pizza or Stonefire Grill but enjoyed Porky's. I ordered behind his back bc he is a loyal dominoes customer. We had a thin crust sausage with light cheese for him and onions and jalapeños on mine. Also ordered a garden salad that was fresh and abundant of goodies like cucumber, black olives, tomatoes and onions. The blue cheese dressing was delish. Their wings was also good, they taste better than what they look with just enough heat -although I do love extra spicy they only have one flavor as it is marinated, not wet. We're having a pumpkin carving party at my mother's tomorrow and are ordering from Porkys. Thanks for the extra plates, napkins, Parmesan cheese and crushed pepper. read more

The pizza parlor is one of the best in town. They have friendly and fast service. I don't have any negative comments about their pizza. However, there seems to be a need to organize their waiting room for pick-up orders during this pandemic. Their waiting room is so small that there is only space for two people maximum in order to maintain a six foot distance. As I was waiting for my order, two separate customers came in after me. We were literally two feet apart. I could not step outside right away since I was the one paying and being handed back my credit card. Perhaps in the future a system can be put in place by management so that customers can wait outside if there is more than two people in the tiny waiting room. read more

Idk what to say it's not porkys pizza fault but I ordered and said it was delivered never got the delivery called Yelp they resubmitted my order and the second order wasn't delivered but said it was! Ridiculous!! I would say call the store directly and order it than using Yelp delivery cuz it was horrible. My family and I have been enjoying Porky's Pizza for years, Placentia, Fullerton and now Long Beach. We have been loyal customers. Yesterday was the first time I have experienced terrible pizza and service. First, the pizza, the dough was very dense, hard, not fluffy at all! Basically like cardboard. That was the first time EVER that I received pizza like that! Customer Service: After I ordered our pizza, I received a call back asking if I had ordered double pepperoni, I told the gentleman I did not. He said he was going to adjust my charge. I made sure to mention I did not want to be double charged. He said no problem they have not charged me. Today, I looked into my account and found that he in fact double charged me. $45 plus change and $48 plus change. I just called to clear this up, spoke to Nathan, he said he recalled the order it was him that I did speak to yesterday. Nathan was down right rude from the get go!! He would not listen to me and kept trying to speak over me!! He kept saying that he experiences this issue with customers all the time. He said all will be cleared up on Monday because the money has not been charged, it has been held. My question that I was TRYING to ask was why not refund the difference rather than recharging me all over again. Nathan said that is not the way we do things. Porky's is now holding $90+ for my pizza. Customer service was HORRIBLE! Very cocky and just down right rude!! I was sooooo done with Nathan and his attitude. I asked Nathan who is the top boss that I could speak to and he said he is not available at any phone number. He thinks I could email Bob at porkys.com. Nobody should have to deal with this level of customer service. I've been here about 3 times since moving to the area, and has yet to disappoint. The pizza is delicious--I even eat the crust, which I leave behind just about every other time I eat pizza. I love the topping options--spinach, artichoke hearts...stuff you don't find at a lot of pizza places. Garden salad is HUGE and has lots of fresh veggies. Wings are good. Customer service is outstanding! Quick, friendly and professional. Also, the place looks spotless. Lastly, think twice about ordering online through Yelp, which leads you to GrubHub...I was about to submit my order which had gone from $40 to $60 with "fees" and unseen menu markups, presumably, so I decided to just call in the order and go pick it up. $37. Saved $23 by opting to order from the restaurant and carry it out rather than delivery through GrubHub...ridiculous. Great local spot! We've been going here during COVID for consistent, tasty pizza. This is our new go-to for pizza.

This based on the food only since my workplace is within delivery distance they have ordered from them before. Today we were at about half staff so the upper management team and President of our company got us pizza and salad for lunch. In the past we always got the garlic knots which are the bomb but not this time. The pizza was good and the salad was fresh and with chicken made it even better. Porky's is our regular stop during First Fridays. They sell slices outside for $1 each, which is a pretty decent quick deal for some pretty decent pizza, especially considering it's already made. I have friends who are in love with Porky's. While I think they make a pretty solid pie, it's not my absolute favorite. The garlic knots and cinna knots are kind of addicting, but are only good when they are super fresh. It's not the tastiest, it's not the cheapest, and the employees aren't the friendliest out there, but overall it's a pretty solid pizza place. While it's a chain, it's a smaller chain, so it's a refreshing change from the large corporate pizza shops. read more

Ain't no Round Table, but it's definitely better than Dominos! This is not a sit-down pizza parlor, solely a take-out pizza joint. I love that the pizza here is not very oily and there are no shortage of toppings on the Porky's Special combo. So I live for great pizza and I treat myself maybe once a month to it.... Just move to Bixby a few months back and I was hoping to find a good pizza place that was closer to my house than my fav.... The crust has no flavor the sauce (the little that was there) had no flavor just tomato oh and my toppings were almost raw.... So the pizza is better than poppa john, Domino's and Pizza Hut but not as good as a round table pizza.. So a family feast comes out to $38 bucks and you get a 2 liter soda also with the items i listed above. They do load the toppings on the Pizza. It's take out only. Give it a try, not bad! read more

Look. After you finish reading this review, I want you to either call them for delivery, or pick up at the shop. This is by far the best pizza i've ever had in Long Beach. Actually that was an understatement. This is the hands down the BEST pizza i've ever had. Now let me tell you why. First off, you gotta get any of the Pizzas with thin crust and their special parmesan crust. Believe me, it'll make any pizza taste phenomenal. Next, all of their ingredients are fresh and prepared daily. (I saw them prep it over the counter as I was waiting for my food.) Not only is food delicious but their customer service is top notch. Whether it be delivery or pick up, they always come through with some welcoming and genuinely happy service. My favorite pizza is the thin crust Margherita with a parmesan crust and cheese blanket. Something about having the light fresh tomatoes with fresh basil on top sits so well with that amazing parmesan crust. Lastly, DON'T FORGET TO ORDER GARLIC KNOTS/CINNA KNOTS! I was on my way to Trader Joes and thought I'd share my experience with this place when I ordered for pick-up. I ordered a medium thick crust sweet & spicy (pepperoni, sausage, pineapple, crushed red peppers, and added mushrooms but put the crushed red peppers on the side.) It was amazing and very tasty! The crust was perfect, just the right amount of pizza like he said there would be, it wasn't soggy in the middle at all, and cooked all the way through. They were friendly on phone, very helpful since I hadn't ordered from them before. Answered my questions, and when I went to pick up they were friendly as well and appreciated me trying the place out and hoped I will return.
