I have been trying to schedule a service on my Macan, it is a known warranty item that needs to be replaced on my car and I fear that due to their inability to provide customer service the warranty limitations will potentially void due to time. I have been calling, speaking to the service department and leaving messages since January -- it is now April, and STILL no resolution, no follow up, not even a note to tell me "kick rocks"....truly baffled at the low level of service and care. read more

My wife's new 2023 Macan was recently tinted at a very reputable tint shop in town and after two months of enjoying the new ride with the new tint, we just recently realized that the rear driver's side window wasn't rolling up smoothly, possibly off its track. We scheduled a service appointment at Porsche and they graciously took us within a couple of days with a loaner. Not many places have loaners available at such short notice so we jumped at the first opportunity. Robert in the service department called to say that because the door panel could've possibly been taken off by the tint shop, Porsche would not be honoring the warranty on the window. You could imagine how disappointed I was so I dropped the loaner off, picked up my wife's car and booked it immediately to the tint shop where we have been taking all of our vehicles to get tinted for the last 20+ years. The gentleman at the tint shop explained how they tinted my wife's car and specified that they would never take off the door panel to tint the windows since they didn't have to so I took his word for it. Honestly, I wouldn't expect the tint shop to fix the discrepancy, especially on the Porsche but I was really hoping it was a simple fix. Obviously it wasn't. So I return to Porsche already frustrated and spoke to Robert again explaining my ordeal. I really didn't want to speak to anyone but the service advisor as several other employees in the service department were trying to justify why the repair wouldn't be covered under warranty. All I wanted was someone to take a look at it as I really don't know if the tint shop took off the door panel or not. Robert was gracious enough to take my wife's car and hold it over the weekend to have it looked at the following Monday. Before lunch, I get a text with the pics of the door panel removed with obvious signs of the panel being removed before: two-way tape missing, glass off the track, missing or broken clips....man I was really disappointed of the fact that there was a strong possibility that the reputable tint shop really DID take the panel off and possibly never planned on informing me or my wife that something went wrong. This almost guaranteed that I would be out of pocket for the entire cost of the repair. Now Robert did call me when the panel was off and after discovering all the discrepancies, told the tech to fix it and put it back together. I appreciate that he took it upon himself to make the call but now I'm liable for the entire repair bill, parts and labor! Robert did us a solid by discounting the repair so it was manageable for us to accept that through no fault of our own, the window broke. Who knows if the tint shop even knew what really happened...maybe the tech was a newbie and didn't tell the boss that he messed up. Or maybe everyone knew and just didn't say anything. Whatever the case is, I walked away very satisfied with the level of customer service Robert provided to me and my wife as this is our first experience as Porsche customers. We have owned Mercedes and BMWs and the reason we left Mercedes was purely because of the lack of customer service with both the sales department and service. We went to BMW and sales and service have been stellar for the last 10 years. Trying Porsche for the first time and I gotta say, thanks to Robert in service, Porsche Hawaii has earned another customer for life (my wife lol since I still love my BMW haha). read more

Okay, it's been 8 years since my initial review of Porsche, so I'm clearly way overdue for an update. In these 8 years, I've continued to work with Ash to purchase/upgrade our Porsche vehicles to match our changing lifestyles and growing family. Our latest purchase was a Macan to accommodate two quickly growing preteens in the backseat and their numerous backpacks, swim bags, judo uniforms (preCOVID), school projects, etc. in the trunk. We are currently planning our next purchase, which will be an electric model. In addition to sales, we've had our vehicles maintained and serviced at the service department, purchased Porsche Hawaii merchandise (shirts, etc.) for gifts, attended unveiling events, etc. All of the Porsche employees we've interacted with in each of these settings have been welcoming, knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I would be hard-pressed to find any negatives in the Porsche Hawaii experience. The sales experience here is perfect. The cars they sell are amazing. But it's the service that's sinking the ship here. Nothing but problems with service. Our last visit? They canceled on us twice and so it took a month just to get our car in to be repaired. Beyond ridiculous and their only course of correction seems to keep offering up $50 gas cards and other swag when they screw up. 1- I took my car in for an appointment to be serviced at Porsche Hawaii. The service representative recommended same service performed 2 years ago. I found that strange and asked what service porsche recommended as that was the service that and only that service is what I wanted performed on my car- He said he would look into it and get back to me. 2- The next day (?) he finally got back to me and said that in addition to the service he recommended Porsche also recommend changing the transmission oil; I; I said go ahead, but for things like windshield wipers (which were fine), filers that don't need changing to inspect but not change unless porsche said change etc he said that he understood they have the parts and will service vehicle 3- I was subsequently informed that they didn't have the parts, and would get them the next day (but they didn't). I finally got my car back 6.5 days later after bringing it in 4- Was sent an invoice with "general labor" and parts- asked specifically what specific tasks were done and what I was billed for; He couldn't tell me. I saw that I was invoices for wiper blades, and air filters that shouldn't have been changed. I went to porsche site and printed out minor and major service checklists to see what should have been done and what shouldn't have been done 4- I went in to Porsche dealership to pick up my car and asked him directly what was done to my car and what I was billed for. he was unaware; I asked if a major or minor service was performed. He said he didn't know. I asked if for example the convertible top was maintained as per the checklist he said he didn't know. Clearly the same things were done that were done 2 years ago; meaning that they didn't have to be. I showed him the porsche checklists and he had never seen them 5- I asked what the LIST prices on the invoice were- he said porsche MSRP. I also looked up part numbers online and numbers were over 20% higher than porsche MSRP and 40% higher than original porsche parts available online 6- Initially my car wouldn't start (never happened before), and the convertible plastic cover fell on my head. I feel that I wasn't listened to nor given the service I requested. I feel that the people I dealt with did not receive proper training and did not know what Porsche recommends for service. I felt they didn't know what was done to my car. I feel I didn't get value I feel I was ripped off. I have owned several Porsches and have them serviced all over the world. Been searching for a good condition used 911 since my return from the Rennesport Porsche Reunion event at Laguna Seca. This was going to be my third time owning a Porsche. Had not seen anything I liked used locally, so I decided to look at new ones and had in the back of my mind that I will probable have to go to the mainland to get a good condition used one at the price point I was desiring. This is where I meet Gerald Executive sales representative. Gerald took his time with me and explained the options and explained other new models that fell within the price point and we drove one. I had voiced my concern that I felt I would have to go to the mainland to get a quality used 911. Gerald explained to me he had been working at this Porsche Dealership a while and he knew of a special car which he had sold to a customer which would be getting a newer one. He told me to be patient and that when the car came in, he would call me first. Some time went by and I got busy. Gerald calls me , I go down and look at the car. The car is a perfect very lightly used 991.1 Carrera S white, full leather, PDK and sunroof with auto dimming mirrors and other features and super low miles. It checked every box in my mind. They made it so easy to buy the car deposit to hold and came back after a trip and picked it up and Gerald delivered the car was as promised. The car sat in my garage for the week I go to drive it for a Sunday drive and the tire is low. I asked Gerald about it. his response was 1 800 Porsche if needed and bring it in. They will most likely fix it for free. this is the point I look up the reviews on yelp and was prepared for the service dept. I bring the car in yesterday during lunch. greeted by a smiling young valet. I explain the issue that one tire is not holding air. I talk to the Service reps. They ask me if I want to wait in the lobby.I ask if I can just go eat something and come back. They say yes, give us 30 min. I come back in 45. The Service Rep see's me walking back and walks up to me outside with the key and says its all fixed have nice day. I know not every experience can be that good. I've only had experience with the service department and it's truly disappointing. Unless your Porsche is under warranty, I would recommend several other independent shops that will back what they do with a smile versus give you excuses and not. My latest unfortunate encounter with Porsche was should have been a simple battery replacement. I had doubts going to the dealer, but it was convenient, $600.00 later they had swapped out my battery and after the sticker shock, told me there was a 3 year warranty as long as the car was driven 6K/year. 4 months later the battery failed and here is the fun part, I take the car back down and they state the battery can take a charge and keep it overnight to "slow charge" it. All, good. Drive off happy, but around a week later the car barely starts and ultimately fails. I've pressed both the local service advisor and a customer relations specialist in Atlanta. Bottom line they do not want to keep their warranty because the car has not been driven 6K/year. To which I argued, how can you state that if the year has not even gone by? This ludicrous reasoning is why you should avoid this dealer at all costs, unless you like dropping coin for no service and for not upholding their word/warranty. Regrettably, I should have listened to my inner voice and taken it to anyone, but the dealer to exchange the battery, preferably with an Interstate battery, a company that backs their products up, no questions asked. Terrible customer service by both the local and mainland reps. Reason enough to use other reputable shops in town. It may be one experience to buy a new Porsche from someone that wants to make your wallet lighter by $125 large, but it's another when you are trying to maintain your vehicle out of warranty and getting ripped off. Recently, our out-of-warranty second-hand Carrera's cam shaft adjuster needed servicing. In order for the job to be done right, this particular repair--which on average takes 1-2 days for the work to be completed--requires special proprietary equipment only available at Porsche Hawaii. After a service appointment was scheduled in January, on March 11, our vehicle left our care and began its bewildering 6 week ordeal at the dealership's service department. Week 1: We were told the person doing the evaluation and estimate was on vacation. Week 2: By the end of the week, we were given a verbal estimate of repairs. Week 3: We were informed the parts were on order. Week 4: We were told our vehicle had not been worked on because they had been swamped, but that we were still in line. Week 5: We were informed they were very busy, however they reminded us we were still in line. It was at this point in time, a brief apology was given for it taking so long. Week 6: We were told our car would finally be worked on and would be ready by some time mid-week. Just to be perfectly clear, for the entire period of six weeks, no one called us with status updates. It was up to us to follow up on the progress of our automobile every single week. Even after our car returned home, no one is really able (or willing) to give a definite answer as to what really happened. No one knows (or will say) for certain where our car was being held hostage. No one can (or will) explain why it took such an unacceptable amount of time for our car to be serviced. The only good parts of this story are that the cam shaft adjuster is now properly repaired and that luckily, this vehicle is not our primary form of transportation, so we didn't incur any additional automobile rental fees during the six week nightmare. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a similar predicament, we were told (after our six week dilemma) to call Adam Koo who happens to be the Business Development Manager with Fletcher Jones. He would be your best advocate to see you through your own set of difficult circumstances. read more

Currently porsche hawaii service is having lots of problems with callbacks and appointments. When you call, California facility picks up your message so you are never sure what goes on. Service appt are running 4 weeks now. All they will tell you there is they are really busy. Makes you feel like a Kia customer. My car was stuck there for 4 weeks. No calls to tell me what is going on. I have to call only to sometimes get some info a few days later. Service advisor is the worst ever in my 40 years of dealing with service dept at dealerships.
