If I could give zero stars, I would…read more This dealership is unethical, incompetent, and fails to follow through on its promises. Let's start with the sale process, where a truck was advertised on the side of the truck and online with a $10K discount. The salesperson, Nathan Hale, then tells me that I have to buy thousands of dollars' worth of useless add-ons to get the discount. I asked him to send me a picture of where it says I have to do this, and the included photo is what he sent me. It clearly states that these add-ons "can be purchased for an additional cost or removed from the vehicle at the time of sale". Knowing that I could cancel these later and get a refund, I went along with it to get the deal done. After getting the deal done, I escalated to the general manager, Tim Toor, who told me he would take care of the refund IN JUNE. It is late December as I write this review. I have since followed up with him OVER 50 TIMES via calls, texts, and emails over the last 6+ MONTHS to get the refund. At one point, he even told me he approved the check and that it was at the dealership. This has proven to be a lie. Let's move on to the fact that the truck's primary screen didn't work from the moment they delivered it to me. They told me that after an overnight update, it would work. It did work the next day, but a few days later, it stopped working again. I took it in for repairs, and they kept it for 3+ MONTHS! I asked them to replace the screen numerous times, but they refused each time. The service manager, Kyle Closter, even told me the screen was good and that he personally tested it. I drove to the dealership to pick it up, only to be told the screen was, in fact, not good. One of the most insane things was that the salesperson asked me not to complete the GM survey unless it was positive, as it would affect his bonus. After the nightmare of an experience, I shared my negative experience in the survey. He dared to call and text me to say he "lost all of his bonuses for this whole quarter." From the salesperson, to the service manager, to the general manager, this is a dealership that should be avoided at all costs. They're unethical, incompetent, and fail to follow through on their promises. I will be sending this exact review to GM corporate so that they can handle things accordingly.

In April 2025, they had my car for over a week to fix an oil leak (no loaner vehicle provided) and charged $1,500 plus a $225 diagnostic fee. Fast-forward to my next oil change, just a few months later, and I was told there's another major oil leak. I had to wait over a week for a new appointment since there were "no loaners available." When I finally got in on September 29th, they diagnosed yet another leak--quoted me nearly $2,000 more, and added another $225 diagnostic fee. This new "leak" is clearly related to the first repair. I met with Andrea and a mechanic who called himself "Kevin," and both were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional--rolling their eyes and refusing to answer my questions. After getting a second opinion, I found out the only leak is from the camshaft, not the lower timing cover, and the original technician never replaced the cover behind the timing belt. When I pointed this out to Andrea and "Kevin," they literally walked away. Between the bad diagnosis, poor communication, and extra charges, this has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing dealership experiences I've ever had. Cadillac customers deserve better.

Some described experiences where the dealer tried to get out of fixing it. But Robert, the service manager, said it would get fixed, and it did. The repair cost a lot more than what I paid for the vehicle. It was still under warranty, and I didn't have to pay anything, and I was given a loaner vehicle for no charge, and reimbursed for car rentals I had before they had a loaner, and I didn't even purchase the vehicle from them. I was dealing with Sergio, and he was a real professional, and the whole thing took about 2 months, and I wasn't the easiest customer to deal with. I would highly recommend him and this dealership.

A year and a half ago when I was in search of a new car, it was an easy option to come here since the family already had a relationship with the dealership. I purchased a used 2021 Sportage which had happened to be turned in 2 days before. Given that information, I had wheel and tire, key and extended warranty to 100,000 miles added to the purchased to ensure that we were covered in case anything came up that wasn't analyzed in the mere 2 days they had had this vehicle. We even drove it off the lot dirty because it hadn't been detailed yet. A year and a half later, I had 3 separate instances where the car slowed down on me to 25 mph on the freeway. I was able to get it looked at each time, run engine cleaner and change the oil (even though, it wasn't time for my oil change). Once it happened the third time, I had it towed to this dealership and told them the codes that popped up on my last incident. I am not a typical girl who is ignorant to cars and their function/operation. I have worked on machinery myself and already knew this was an issue with the engine. Luckily I was only at 90,000 miles so is something that is still to be covered under warranty. It looks a week and half and "tentative approvals of $750 (until warranty covers the claim)" for them to tell me what I already knew: I needed a new engine. After a week without a vehicle (here in San Diego, with 2 jobs, where public transport is just not an option) I asked about a courtesy vehicle. They said they couldn't offer that until the Kia claims department arranged for the engine swap. Instead, Kia claims authorized a rental credit of $35/day (with me still out of pocket by $16 a day) for 4 days until they could determine responsibility. Once the engine swap was approved, which was a surprise to NO ONE, they extended the rental for only one more week. I asked 2 more times about a courtesy vehicle; because I wasn't thrilled that I was paying out of pocket at all. THIS IS WHAT I GOT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO PROTECT ME FROM. I was told "you're already getting a credit, so we're just going to keep you in the rental". I was also told at one point that "they don't do that"-- referring to offering loaner vehicles. I finally picked up my car with a new engine after over a month of not having it and now I am being told they are only covering the vehicle for two weeks, telling me that "that's 5 more days than I should have gotten". Essentially, the dealership took more than the 2 days allotted for the engine swap (and the repair department DID inform me that it could take "weeks" not days...). So this delay is not covered and now I am being told I have to pay for a whole week and some change on this rental that I shouldn't have had to pay for in the first place BECAUSE I HAD A WARRANTY!!! Now I am being (once again) ping-ponged back and forth between the dealership and the Kia claims department for the extra rental credit I deserve. Unfortunately I keep tabs on and write legal contracts for a living so I am disgusted by the amount of time I have wasted on the back and forth and keeping tabs. I will say that Robert (the manager) was helpful in getting some of the process and moving it along; and Stephanie (from the repair department) is a gem and I know she took some heat and frustration. The gentleman who sold me the vehicle was also sweet but he doesn't even work there anymore. And these 3 people are the only reason this is a 2 star and not a 1 star review. Because this has been hell on earth for the past month and I will not change a word on this review on any platform until someone gets back to me on this. Enterprise still hasn't charged me and I am NOT paying $400 when I paid thousands for an extended warranty, I'm sorry. With the amount of Lemon Law issues Kias have I am SHOCKED they weren't more diligent with the situation. (And by the way- don't buy a Sportage EVER- they have known issues, I now know).

I had a great car-buying experience at first, but unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. My first service visit started with the dealership ordering the wrong part. Mistakes happen, but it was the beginning of a frustrating pattern. When I returned to have the correct part installed, a technician accidentally ripped the driver's seat. It then took over three months for the dealership to provide a loaner vehicle so they could repair the damage they caused by patching over the rip. The repair lasted only a few weeks before the seat ripped again. Now, more than a year later, they're still refusing to replace the damaged seat cover. The Service Manager's (Kim Yuquimpo, Joshua Rippo, Ron Gibson) only solution is to patch it again--which would only conceal the rip, not actually fix it--even though the first repair already failed. I don't have time to keep bringing my car back every few weeks because of a problem their technician created. To make matters worse, replacing the seat cover properly will cost over $800--a bill I'm now expected to pay myself because the dealership refuses to take responsibility for damage caused by its own technician. That's simply unacceptable. This was a brand-new car that their employee damaged. What has been most disappointing is the complete lack of accountability. Had they simply taken responsibility and replaced the seat cover, they would have earned a customer for life. Instead, they chose to save a few hundred dollars and lost a customer who has been loyal to the Volkswagen brand for nearly 20 years. I'll never return to this dealership, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Based on how this situation was handled, I'd also think twice before doing business with any Mossy-owned dealership. Customer service isn't just about selling cars--it's about standing behind your work when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here.

Thankfully, we decided to make one last stop at Mossy Nissan Escondido -- and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Joseph was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. Every time I asked if there was any way to improve the deal, he came back with solutions instead of sales pitches. Caesar, the manager, went above and beyond trying to help us get the best possible deal, and Jason topped it all off by adding even more value after our final test drive. They offered us the best trade-in price we received anywhere and got everything done incredibly fast. In less than two hours, we walked out with an amazing car, an unbelievable deal, and a completely different view of what a dealership experience can be like. The entire facility is also spotless, modern, and highly organized, which made waiting around much more comfortable. I highly recommend asking for Abbie when looking for a vehicle. I know it's fairly typical of buying a vehicle but my only complaints are regarding the pricing and the speed of the transaction. The final numbers felt a bit "bait-and-switchy" compared to what was advertised online, so make sure you read the fine print carefully before signing. However, I did really appreciate that the negotiating stage was fairly quick compared to what I have experienced at other dealerships, still fairly standard for the car buying industry I would say. I was also a little surprised my car only came with 1 key, first time I didn't receive a spare with a vehicle. Overall, it is a great facility with wonderful people. Definitely one of the more painless car buying experiences I've had, especially if you come in knowing what you want.

I called Chrysler of Escondido and was told to speak with the parts department. The person I spoke with was polite and gave me a part number. I also asked for a general quote on labor if I bought the part myself and brought it in. I followed the information I was given and ordered the part through MOPAR. Unfortunately, the part number I was given turned out to be wrong, which left me out money and still needing the repair done. From there, I tried several times to get in touch with the service department for a quote to have the correct part ordered, shipped, and installed. I called, used their contact form, and even received their AI-style text response, but no one followed up with me. At the end of the day, I was trying to get my vehicle fixed through the dealership, and I got ignored through the contact options they provide. Because of that, I would not recommend Chrysler of Escondido's service department.
