Pizza is ubiquitous on Martha's Vineyard and just about every pizza joint you encounter boldly claims it's the best. Is Porto Pizza "the best"? I have no idea - this was the only pizza place we tried, but it was pretty darn good. They have four or five kinds of pie that you can order by the slice and also sell whole pies if you're with a hungry bunch. We thought the food was highly satisfying and the frozen lemonade is outstanding - the perfect thirst-quenching mix of sour and sweet. You can enjoy your pizza at one of several picnic tables out front or take your pie closer to the water and enjoy over a picture-perfect Martha's Vineyard sunset. read more

Mediocre at best. Smells awesome; was disappointed greatly. So so sauce, not a lot of topping especially cheese.

Stopped by to grab a quick lunch during a work trip right before getting on the ferry and the pizza was delicious! I had a slice of the deep dish linguiça with onion and a slice of the white pizza. Very generous slices, was stuffed with the two slices. Slices run about $4 or so each. Small little place but great delicious pizza. Crust was nice and thin (except the deep dish which had slightly thicker crust but just how I like it, I'm not really a crust person) and very flavorful. I will definitely be going again next time I'm in the area! I recommend! read more

The pizza is soo delicious! Love the sweet sauce, with the perfectly cooked crust and not oily. It's the best pizza we've had in a long time!! That's a big statement coming from NJ. The best quality grub i tasted in all of vineyard haven!!! The pizza is close to what you will find in just about any NYC pizzareria. They sell it by the slice or by the pie. Plus they are open later then the other food joints in town making it a great stop if your running late or need something to get the bad taste of a mediocre meal you had down the street. :) Customer service here was super friendly and got my food out in such a hurry! read more

Never again. I was grossly overcharged for my pizza; my attempt to get clarification on how cashier arrived at $28 was met with indifference. Staff in front was legit fighting with staff (pizza makers) in back. They ran out of cheese slices, and the staff were yelling at each other in front of a store full of customers about who was at fault for this. Asked to speak to / contact manager or owner to solve issue of being overcharged, was told there was no one to help me. So YELP it is. read more

This place is definitely one of my top favorite pizza places on the island. I go here often but this time I felt like leaving a review.. I ordered 2 pizzas and when I picked them up the lady there was really nice and kind and told me that one of my pizzas was overcooked and that they will give it to me for free, or get a new one which they were already making but would take more time. I decided to look at the pizza first because me and my family are picky with our pizza and prefer soft and fluffy than hard and crispy. The pizza was not too bad, really just a smidge over cooked. I decided to take it. I was blown away by this outstanding customer service because I cant tell you how many times I have gotten a much worse over cooked pizza at other places on the island where they never said anything or acknowledged it. I just walked away with a disappointing pizza only to never go back. I know how easy it is to forget about food cooking in this industry especially when its really busy, it happens everywhere. Its the service that matters when admitting your faults and owning up to it. I know a lot of places probably use the "hopefully they wont notice" mechanism. But not here, they are awesome! Pizza by the slice or order whole pies. The pizza was pretty good, they had a friendly cashier. I always enjoy it when restaurants make the food in front of you Which is exactly what they do. Wish they had a bit cheaper price and indoor seating. The patio is nice for an afternoon but a bit cool in the evening. I get a few slices there every now and then but from this day forward - NO MORE. Every time I get a slice or three of the pizza, I keep forgetting how bad it really is. I mean seriously, it sucks bad on a good day. Today they hit a new all-time low. Pizza was dry and over cooked and was not warmed enough to melt an ice cube, although appeared to come out of the oven. It's not like they were busy either. I'm guessing others got the word that I didn't. What made it even worse was that I stopped in with a few friends and now all they can talk about is how horrible the experience was. Apparently their fancy cup of coffee wasn't any warmer than the pizza either. My suggestion - go anywhere else and I'll probably see you there. read more

It's a solid pie. People couldn't have been nicer, and we enjoyed eating our pizza under the stars at their picnic tables.

So delicious that we went back in and bought two more slices! I'm very picky when i eat pizza, so be sure to try the feta and spinach. The first time we visited in 2012, I never forgot the super crispiness bite after bite, and the perfectly blended cheeses. Located with in a 1 minute walk from the ferry. The service was delightful ( I felt as if I was in Italy), the pizza delicious and made with care. Pretty solid pizza by the slice at a cheap price - $3 - $4 range. The pepperoni single slice we ordered was scrumptious and had a nice salt balance and not overly oily with a good amount of pepperoni to top. The crust was just right crunchy. We got delivery to our hotel room, so we couldn't experience the pizza right out of the oven, however the Pizza was pretty good! The blend of cheeses they use for a cheese pizza results in a very flavorful pizza. We also got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and it was everything I was expecting. Amateur hour! We stopped here for a quick slice before boarding the Vineyard Haven ferry (it's located right around the corner). The girl taking orders at the register was confused, distracted, and forgetful--I waited for several minutes at the counter (with no one in front of me) before she took my order. Then she forgot to put the order in, so people who ordered after me got their food first. Extremely annoying! Maybe it was her first day? The pizza itself was pretty good (thin crust, big slices) but the service here is chaotic and badly managed, even when it's not busy. read more

This place makes us locals happy. It is a great sized pie for a great price. I really enjoy the thinness of the pizza as well as the cheese to sauce ratio. Most island pizza places use too much sauce and/or cheese which makes it a mess to eat. They also usually use the worst quality cheese that just greases up your whole life. This pizza is neat to eat with great cheese and has a great flavor. I love the location and its just an all around cute place. I wish they were open year round! And now they DELIVER!? Unheard of.
