This place refuses to give you a receipt that proves that you dropped off the package. This basically gives you no proof that your item was dropped off at their location. What does this really mean? Anyone at this location can steal your package and get away with it. I had made the mistake of asking for a receipt showing that I dropped my package off, and the lady (owner?) was very rude. She said "why should I give you a receipt? The USPS doesn't give us one so why should I give you one?" Don't risk your precious items by using this place's services. read more

The customer service at this PostalAnnex+ is top notch. I needed to get some documents notarized and after 16 signatures, the notary was still smiling and courteous. He was also very respectful of my documents. He made sure my 200+ page document stayed in order and that all signature/stamp pages were dry before putting them back into the file. He was also very respectful of my time and filled out the rest of his notary book after we paid and left. This location offers 10% off notary services if you call in ahead of time. This place seems to do a pretty brisk business, or at least it was busy when I walked in. I needed a live scan, and as soon as I approached the counter an employee asked me how he could help me. I told him what I needed, and he said he could help right away. He called me over to the live scan machine, cleaned it off with disinfectant, and we started the fingerprinting. We chatted pleasantly while he was doing the scanning, and he seemed pretty expert at it. Then we were done. I think I was there about 10 minutes or so, total (maybe a tiny bit more), including payment, and I was on my way. The shopping center that this store resides in has a lot of Asian businesses, and there were several signs in Korean on the walls. The person who helped me, though, was not Asian and spoke perfect, unaccented English. I really don't care who owns or works in a business that I enter--it's just really uncomfortable when there's a communication issue. I experienced no communication issues at all. The shop was clean and orderly and appeared to be run well. I would have no problem using this PostalAnnex again. read more

I came here to get my photo taken so that I could renew my expired passport. The two photos came in a small booklet that protects the photo. It cost $14.99 plus tax. The entire process was done in about 5 minutes. It was a fairly small operation, but the service was fast and friendly. Exceptional service by all 3 employees at the front counter!!! This was my first time here. I stopped by because I had an Amazon return. I had just enough time to drop off my package before picking up my daughter from school. I didn't know how long this process would take and my youngest daughter happened to fall asleep in the car on the way here. So I picked up my toddler who was dead asleep on my one shoulder and carried a big box that was wrapped around my arms inside the store. As soon as I entered, I saw a lady run from behind the counter to help me with the box. I was surprised by her kind heart. She asked if I printed the shipping label. When I said yes and pulled it out of my bag, they said that's it. They will take care of the rest. Whaaat?!?! It was sooo easy and quick. I couldn't believe it. I had to send some stuff out for a friend. He specifically asked me to go to 'one of those mailing centers' to do it seeing it was fragile material and he wanted to make sure it wouldn't break en route. I got there just in time. There was one person ahead of me and was almost finishing up. The man packaged the stuff for me really well. I felt bad because some other customers showed up and he was so intent on doing a great job on my item he neglected his other customers. They had to wait. One man actually left, but some others arrived soon after. The elderly Asian lady (she looked like she was in her 80s) kept giving me the stink eye because she had to wait so long. It took him about 15 minutes to get me all processed and out the door. It was bloody expensive. I ended up choosing UPS (FedEx was the same price) which was $48 but he charged me for all the packaging materials which was 30 bucks worth! DAYUUUM! Anyway my friend is paying for it, but STILL!! I thought service was great, but I'm sure the other customers waiting probably didn't think so! Seriously the man needs to hire some help! read more

This is a check-in/update/thingy-ma-jig review: I planned a trip to China and weaved my way through the process of obtaining all of the information needed for my application packet. Whew! Who knew China needed to know all of that info about me and my family? I thought they would just look up my profile on Yelp and say to themselves "yup, he's cool, let him in". Well that didn't happen! Anyway, back to the check-in-thingy-ma-jig...I got everything together and was ready to go to the Chinese Consulate and turn in my spectacularly completed application and my wife asked about the pictures. Pictures? What pictures? I have to submit sort of passport sized pictures as well? Holy smokes, I forgot about that! I stopped into my favorite Postal Annex in Irvine and spoke to Amy and Josh and asked if they could give me Chinese sized passport pictures. They chuckled a bit as they learned I had forgot about these, but happily helped me and my family get the correct pose and size. They even asked us to approve the picture before printing...awesome service! The entire transaction took 10 minutes and before I knew it I was on my way to China! Woo hoo! Absolutely the best postal annex Ive ever been to. They have free tape, scissors, used boxes and the staff doesnt make you feel stupid!!! They have a table to wrap your items and ship them. Not overly crowded when I went and its an overall large store. I will only come here from now on. The USPS down the street has the most horrible customer service and they make me feel lost and dumb everytime I come in to ship something. This place cares about the customer first! I came here last week to take passport photos. While this particular PostalAnnex was a bit out of my way, the great reviews and prices convinced me to drive here from the other side of Irvine. I had to take an international-style passport photo that required religious headwear I normally don't wear, and the ladies that worked here were incredibly kind and provided the space and feedback to make sure that I had the best photo. Their cameras are very high quality and they have great lighting, so the photos turned out beautifully. I loved that they also gave me a digital copy of the photo for future needs and digital submissions if I needed it. Does it cost more than Costco or Walgreens? Yes, a bit. But if you want a NICE passport photo, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. read more

I went to Postal Annex to get my passport picture done. I was going to give it a 5- star, but their price is on a higher end and I regretted not going to Costco. I came in on a weekday to ask them to take my passport picture and service was fast. I was out within 10 munites despite that they only have two workers inside working. I received two printed version for $17 and I also got a digital copy was well since I checked in on Yelp. Overall, friendly service, fast service, but pricey for passport pictures. read more

This place has improved, the workers are much better and they're much more informative. This is more based upon convenience, if you're in a rush the job will get done. It's not bad, they have just about everything you need if you want to pay a little extra but if you're in a hurry I understand how it's worth it. There are better places out there, I think this is more intended if you live in the area and this place is somewhere you can walk to. I've driven a few lights away and found better prices, but the workers are nice here.
