Postino is a fantastic addition to Bryker Woods. We ate there tonight and it exceeded our expectations. First, the service was excellent. Our waitress was Madeline and she provided the perfect level of attention along with the rest of the service team. Next, the menu was pretty much the perfect size offering plenty of great choices but not overwhelming. I could have easily closed my eyes and pointed to something and been happy with it. We ordered a bruschetta plate, Caesar salad and the chicken and petite filet skewers that were each extremely delicious. Finally, the vibe is a terrific combination of comfort and style. I'll conclude by saying we didn't even scratch the surface of all the great menu choices and we'll be eating here regularly. read more

the place was cool and clean. pretty busy and the service was fine. honestly my problem was the food was just super mid. i think i don't like the sandwiches. i got a bunch of platters for a party. as many types and it was all just very bland and not very tasty. if you're not a sandwich lover maybe not for you. read more

This was a vibeee. Evening.. they validate for parking underneath, but we got one on lil street next to, but it was after alot was closed.. just make sure your car is straight so you can relax and enjoy. You walk in to ambiance with candles all over the place... greattt touch. Then we were greeted by a beautiful, down to earth, very helpful, cool young lady named Miah, (a gem for this restaurant) who was our waitress. She was lovely, very warm, and gave us good recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. One of us took the advice and the other didn't, and I can safely say we wish we had! We got the select italian beef dip panini, which came with a really good onion soup and au jus to dip sandwich in {around 16 I think} and other was really in mood for a good grilled cheese... it was crisped perfectly and came with really good tomato soup - {around 15-16} with great lil' side tiny cup of the best pickles I've ever had-so much that I had to get the name of - "Tony Packo Pickles"...I have to get some-- (only wish I knew what flavor they were..Miah if you ever see this or someone there, can you tell me what flavor of their pickles do yall serve with the grilled cheese please?) I never cared about a pickle, but these were crunchy, a lil' spicy and sweet, just right, and really amped the grill cheese.. only wished to have more of them. But I have to tell them that the four cheeses were not hittin' the way grilled cheese should. It may just be a case of "doin' too much". I think they would be better served by trying a "regular cheddat" but maybe use Dubliner cheddar from Ireland which is at heb, or Cheddar from Isle of Man, also at heb, and may even save them some money on just one great cheese instead of four, or maybe you could try this grilled cheese and tell me what you think? They could have a lil fun thing where they let customers vote on a flight of different cheddars or cheeses. But we definitely want to come back when in Austin. The water was actually good too. I wanted to post right after there, but for some reason it didn't work out. This place is definitely worth trying a bunch of things on the menu. I really wanted to like this place. The pictures looked good, it had a lot of good reviews, the location is good, and the inside looks beautiful. However, when my food arrived they accidentally dropped it on me, my panini fell on my chair and some chips landed on me and the floor. That part didn't bother me because I understand accidents happen and I assumed they would fix it. It took 30 minutes for my new food to arrive and when it did they only brought half a panini. You would think they would bring a whole new meal. Anyway at that point I had lost my appetite and just wanted to take my food to go. BUT just like for my new panini to arrive service took forever (btw they weren't busy), I had to ask for a box twice because the first time I asked the waiter just kept walking around doing other tasks. Getting the bill was a whole other wait and when it did arrive you would think they would've comped the meal they spilled on me or at least half priced it, NOPE paid in full. I was over it at that point and just wanted to get out of there so It didn't hit me till I was in the car how terrible my experience really was because I try to be very understanding. read more

Came in from Colorado and tried the postinos in San Antonio and thought it was okay but this postinos blew me away, from the garage doors creating a great open concept to the music setting a nice tone, i even got to meet one of the chefs Fernaldo on duty and he was so sweet and knowledgeable, definitely my new favorite and recommended to my friends. overall 10/10 read more

The wait staff needs more experience in giving the type of service expected at this restaurant. The wait person talked me out of ordering the soup as she gave me the impression I would not be happy with the temperature of it if I liked it hot. She said I will get you the soup at a hot temp after I chose not to order it. She explained she just didn't trust the kitchen. She never followed up with the soup. The wait person didn't check on us after we were served until mid way through our lunch. Not a good experience per the wait staff. read more

What a wonderful, relaxing place. Postino opened it's second location at Jefferson and 35th Street on August 1. For the time being, they're offering an opening special bottle/bruschetta special: a bottle of wine and a bruschetta board fro $25 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our server also gave us a card that will allow us to enjoy this speciall pricing any night until the offer expires sometime in the fall. The burschetta board is ample and will easily serve four people as an appetizer or two people as a light meal, perhaps accompanied by a panino, soup or salad. Each of the four slices of toast on the board is about 2 1/2" square with ample toppings. We tried the artichoke spread, mushrooms mascarpone, figs & pistachio nuts, and smoked salmon. Not understanding the ample amout we would be served, my wife and I each offered the two-for- something special: a half panino plus a soup or salad. We both ordered the brie & prosciutto panino, she with a small caesar and me with a bowl of red pepper and corn soup, that night's soup of the day. The atmosphere is soothing, and they have comfy chairs in addition to the more standard restaurant chairs. The waitstaff was especially friendly. We enjoyed a bottle of sauvignon blanc throughout. The tab was $72 with tax/before gratuity but we could have ordered one of the panino/salad combos and split it, keeping the tab around $50. It's open till 11 PM 7 days a week, and an excellent place to hang out for a late night snack and vino just before bedtime. read more

We really enjoy this Postino and go regularly these days. Food and service is great; we always make a reservation. Suggest you go later in the evening if noise level is an issue for you, especially on a Friday evening. If management were to add some appropriate accoustic measures, this could lessen the potential issue considerably. read more
