Zhajiang Mian 5/5 - My favorite of the two dishes and the best Zhajiang Mian I've ever tried. The minced pork sauce was absolutely delicious and coated the noodles so well. We arrived around 7:30-ish and it was quiet with one or two other parties dining. Their take-out business appeared to be robust, which was a good sign that they must be doing something right with their offerings. Menu is pretty standard fair. Noodles in broth with beef shank, various dumplings, rice plates and dry noodle dishes. We started with the deep fried spring rolls which were tasty. The wrapping was very thin and delicate and had a nice crunch for each bite. There are six in an order, which is a great value. Wife ordered the Lucky Beef Noodle which has a mildly spicy broth. She asked for half the normal amount of noodles, as she feels that the noodles end up soaking up a lot of broth. I ordered the Beef Soup with Dumplings, which is basically what my wife ordered without the noodles. I wanted noodles added, so they were gracious and added the noodles my wife did not want to my order. The broth was flavorful and mild, not much of a kick. But the pork and cabbage dumplings included in my order were out of this world delicious and paired perfectly with the beef and its broth. I highly recommend this specific dish! Some pieces were a big soggy but that's due to the distance it had to travel to get to our doorstep. The flavors are spot on with fried basil overtones. I wouldn't loved bigger pieces of fried basil. That's the only thing that could've made the dish better. It was that yummers! We also ordered the Chinese sausage over rice. The rice is delicious with the perfect amount of stickiness; making for an excellent chopstick experience. The tea egg was my least favorite. It had a bit of an off seasoning, so it wasn't what I was used to. But I do love eggs with my Asian food so I polished it off anyway lol. The bok choy with minced meat sauce was ok. I'm used to more seasoning on the meat sauce but the fresh veggies were still delicious. Of the pickled items, I enjoyed the cucumber chunks but the cabbage was too spicy for my liking. The egg radish pancakes were our favorite. There is a 15% gratuity included if dining in. 3% credit card charge as well, so bring cash if you want to save! It's a unique take on popcorn chicken, and it works surprisingly well. The dry rub is absolutely delicious--it's not too spicy and has a perfect balance of flavors and spices. Even the simplest white Taiwanese cabbage kimchi was a fail, the flavor was way off, nowhere near the original. Will not be returning...
