Finally able to try this place as its been saved on Yelp. Restaurant is bigger than I expected with lots of seating. Service was great- the lady helped us and was friendly. We ordered food to go. Food-9/10 Food was delicious. And they give big portions. I tried the Basil Chicken based on reviews and it did not disappoint! Husband ordered the Pork Chops and he enjoyed it also. We also ordered the Stinky tofu (which he said he always ate when he was younger) he liked it. I think one time order was enough lol. Anyways overall great place to try and will be back again!

An Asian friend of mine asked me to join her for lunch to mark the Dragon Boat Festival. The festival is May 31 on our western calendars. The dish that we went for is called zongzi and there's a story in Chinese history of what villagers did with the zongzi. Quoting from wikipedia, this is what zongzi is: Zongzi (粽子) are a traditional Chinese rice dumpling, especially popular during the Dragon Boat Festival. They are made of glutinous rice, wrapped in bamboo leaves (or sometimes other leaves like banana or lotus), and often contain savory fillings like pork, salted duck eggs, and chestnuts, or sweet fillings like red bean paste. My friend did all the ordering. She got me iced plum juice as something different to try. She got for herself soybean milk with ice that she shared with me. Three zongzi were ordered--two with pork which she explained was a Shanghai version of the dish and one with red bean which is a Taiwanese version. She also ordered crispy roll with pork. After unwrapping the zongi from the bamboo leaves, we cut the rice dumpling in half and shared the three we got. She asked me for a preference but I didn't have any. Both were good. The crispy roll with pork was tasty as well. Service was excellent and the lunch was very pleasant. There are two Taiwan delis in Las Vegas--one in Chinatown and this one. The area where this one is located is being called the second Chinatown of Las Vegas because of the large number of Asian restaurants that have opened along South Rainbow Boulevard.

Overall, fairly average flavor and ingredients. Their biggest attraction is their wide variety of items on a single menu, including some hard-to-find items like stinky fried tofu, but they're very much a restaurant that is good at a lot of things but great at nothing. Their homemade dumplings are decent, and you can buy frozen bags to go. I don't yet know of any other places in town that will bulk sell their dumplings. Basil chicken, beef rolls, and beef noodle soup are average, and there are better options elsewhere in town for all these items. Cold sesame noodle was particularly disappointing. Sauces come prepackaged for you to mix yourself, and noodles come with cucumbers only. Really underwhelming and poor value. Their pricing doesn't help matters. Relative to their portions, prices seem unreasonably high. Beyond that, I also get turned off by automatic gratuity and credit card fees on principle.

    Stinky Stinking Fried Tofu
    Jules J.

It's a cute mom and pop Taiwanese restaurant. I love their hot soy milk and tea eggs. I wish I didn't order the stinky tofu! Since I love Yelp...lots of reviews suggesting stinky tofu, and I tried it! Worst decision ever!!! It's like eating manure!!! Yuck!!! I thought I tried stinky tofu when I was in China, and I enjoyed it. But not this one!!! Omg...the manure taste (and smell) lingers in my mouth after. So...please skip the stinky tofu. Do try other stuffs. The sweet lady that serving us was smiling when we tried the tofu. She warned us about it ‍

Great Taiwanese food for breakfast and lunch. It's a small place that is locally owned. We tried the fan Tuan and the basil chicken. Both were delicious and flavorful. The fan Tuan came out warm and had the pork floss with Chinese donut inside. The basil chicken was hot and crispy. I do think it could've used a little more spiciness and bit more flavor so we added a little white pepper to enhance it. They do charge for credit card and 15% dine in fee so highly recommend to bring cash.

    10 Pork Pot Stickers, Napa
    Terri R.

I was in the mood for some potstickers and decided to check out somewhere new so of course looked up places near to where I was on Yelp. Glad I did because these were some of the best ones I've had. You can dine in and there is also a refrigerated/frozen section of food, which I'll have to check out next time. The woman who took my order was super nice. I ordered the pork potstickers and she asked if I wanted them the Napa or Leek (chives) style, same as their dumpling versions. I went with Napa and she said it would be about 11 minutes to prepare. I always like it when you get a timeframe. I also got a Thai Iced Tea. The place has simple and cool decor with a neat mural type painting (I guess) on one wall. In the corner there are some board games if you want to eat and hang out. She brought out my Thai Tea while I waited which was perfect. I got my order to go and couldn't wait to get home. They package the food well and it has soy sauce and chili sauce. Each potsticker has a good portion of flavorful meat; a good size potsticker-so delicious! Their menu has a good variety of items and they serve breakfast at 7:00am. I look forward to coming back.

Tasty food but pricey. Oyster pancake and stinky tofu are a must. Beef noodle soup was amazing, pork chop fried rice was okay. Good place to visit but for me, overpriced.

The servings are big and we had a lot to take home. Very homey food and was definitely a great breakfast. The spicy noodle soup had a great kick and the broth was very umami. The rice roll paired so well with the hot soymilk. The lady working was very nice and accommodating. Checked up on us a few times and made sure we were enjoying the food

#27 Shanghai rice wrapped with Pork
    Kate S.

What a great hole in the wall Taiwanese restaurant. Opens early for a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. I tried #27 Shanghai Rice Wrapped with Pork. The rice was perfectly sticking with a mild flavor to it. The pork belly was luscious with the fat sliding right off of it. I also had #21 radish cake my favorite Taiwanese dish. It had the crisp I am looking for with a soft center. I used the vinegar to dip it in. The portion was so big I took one home. I ended the meal with #42 rice porridge. This was the only thing lacking. It need green onion or something a little savory to provide more flavor, but for 3.50 i can't complain. I ended up taking that home for later. My drink was a hot tea. It was served in a beautiful glass teapot. It was a lovely touch to the meal. Overall, the vibe is quiet and the staff friendly. The include 15 percent gratuity which i appreciate. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is that there was a mild cleanliness issue. The chili sauce container has not been cleaned in a while and the lid just popped off while using. I will be back with my husband and will try a lunch or dinner soon. Thank you for a wonderful morning.

I went here with my friend's Taiwanese family, and they said the food was truly authentic, which says a lot! My friend's grandma loved it so much that she's already gone back twice. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and the cozy, mom-and-pop shop vibe made it feel really welcoming. The staff were super friendly and even brought out a few extra dishes for us to try, which was such a thoughtful surprise. They also went out of their way to accommodate my friend's shellfish and sesame allergy by preparing separate portions without those ingredients. Authentic food, warm atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend!

Had to come out of yelp retirement to drop a 5 star for the southwest location and Jennifer! She was genuine, friendly, warm and helpful with our questions about the menu. We went with the Yi Mei Rice Roll W/ Mustard Greens & Pork Floss, Radish Cake S/ Egg, Hot and Spicy Wonton and the Basil Shaken Chicken. As a Vietnamese person who grew up eating pork floss, I've never had it wrapped up in a rice roll with mustard greens and fried chinese donut, it was the perfect appetizer. I've had radish cake at dim sum spots many times over but never wrapped in scramble egg or with the delicious slightly sweet sauce they serve it with. The Wontons had great flavor and they do not skimp on the portion. Last but not least the Basil Shaken Chicken was perfectly fried crispy but still juicy, not oily and a solid portion size. I feel dumb for not coming to this place sooner, plan on trying literally everything else on the menu!

Today I learned that Taiwan Deli once appeared on an episode of No Passport Required, where host Marcus Samuelsson visited Las Vegas to learn more about the city's long-standing Chinese community and their food traditions. Pretty neat! With that said, I went to Taiwan Deli's Chinatown location a couple years ago, and I stopped by this location on Rainbow Blvd for breakfast over the weekend. Here's a quick recap of my experience: FOOD: The oyster omelet I ordered was tasty and a completely new breakfast experience for me. I ended up ordering a side of rice to go with it after I realized the omelet is relatively thin. It was superb when eaten together, and I'll definitely get it again. Nom nom! I also got the hot soybean milk with peanuts at both locations; I believe it's made in house. I have no regrets for trying a novel menu item, but I won't be ordering this particular menu item again. It's extremely filling, and I'm moving on to new adventures. Lol SERVICE: Excellent! The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. As a stickler for good customer service, this aspect of the dining experience alone will keep me coming back to the restaurant. AMBIANCE: It's a small, cozy space and the decor is a curious mash up of many different styles. This deli is more of a place to come for the phenomenal food/service and not the vibes and design aesthetic.

A really busy Taiwanese breakfast / lunch place tucked in an unassuming corner of a plaza adjacent to the busy Shanghai Plaza. We got seated with other people due to how busy it was even an hour before it closes. The waitstaff was really nice to us and tried their best to explain to us the menu in English. We ended up ordering: Pig ear with tofu skin: 4/5. Really savory and I like the pig ear over tofu. Pickled cucumber: 5/5. Tea egg: 4/5. A little bit too salty for my taste. Stew egg: 5/5. Just perfect. This was stew in meat sauce. Beef noodle soup with tendon: 5/5. Hearty soup with the noodle cooked to perfection. 15% gratuity is included in each check and if you pay by cash, you get a discount! Overall, really authentic Taiwanese place and would come back again!

I just move to Las Vegas from California so I would like to think I have a well rounded knowledge…read moreon asian cuisine. On social media I've been seen this restaurant "China Mama" been popping up when I browse my Instagram, so today I was set on having lunch at this establishment. When I walked through doors, I was fascinated at the interior design of the place, the walls, tables and lighting because it had an atmosphere of exclusivity in a foodie type of way however at the same time the staff and service was impeccable and very welcoming to newcomers. What I noticed when I sat down is the teapot, the plates and the menu, the reason why I mentioned those things is because in a typical chinese restaurant, you see a white/red plastic plate with a chinese design on the front of the plate with teapots and teacups that have some residue on them. Along with a sticky menu book that sounds like velcro when you pull the pages apart. Rest assured because the dining set at this restaurant is nothing like that and the level of detail the manager or owner put it in must be applauded because it displays that they care for their customers and uphold the highest level of sanitation. The plates and the teapot were immaculate and also the menu was colorful and clear where I didn't know what dish I wanted to pick because I was so astonished with how vibrant the menu was designed. For new restaurants I always conduct my version of a litmus test regarding food. For chinese restaurants I order fried rice and whatever special pork dish they have on hand to gauge the type of quality I can expect. I will say this, I've had homecook fried rice, traditional fried rice and my goodness is this fried rice really spot on when it comes to flavor, seasoning and cook temperature. I order the shrimp egg fried rice and everything was delicious from the star of the dish being the shrimp to the vegetables. The blend was so harmonious that I was silently eating and lost track of time due to it being cooked to perfection. Secondly, I ordered the twice cooked pork with spicy sauce and the tenderness of the pork was so heavenly I indulge in more after more, even when I was full, my body was pushing my hand to eat more because I subconsciously didn't want the sensation of the umami to fade. I have never had a pork dish like that in a chinese restaurant. It's a far drive from where I currently reside so ontop of the lunch I had I decided to order to dish for to go so I can have the experience again for dinner. I order the pan fried pork dumplings along with signature salted egg yolk prawns. As much as I want to encourage people to try the restaurants I share on reviews, I secretly want to keep this restaurant to myself and just keep it hidden so it dosent get packed in the near future where I have to fight over reservations. That being said, whomever is looking for the best pound for pound chinese restaurant in Las Vegas? CHINA MAMA is THE best hidden secret in this city. It was a wonderful experience and it will not be the last time I visit this extraordinary establishment. Update: I took my mom, brother and sister to try this restaurant that I have been endorsing. Let me tell you how the popularity of this restaurant skyrocketed. I got there at 11:30, put my name down for a wait list not even 5 minutes has passed and 4 more people came in to put their name down. After a 20 minute wait there was an additional 12 names that were on the wait list. Service was so fast, and the pan fried pork buns was informed to us that it would take 45 min to a hour to make, of course we ordered appetizer, entrées, to be served to us when it's ready, so in the mean time we can have some food in our belly before the pork buns but that gors to show how popular that food item is and how its taken off. The waiter that waited our table was so excellent that we tipped him 30%, he was amazing. He's chinese with black frame glassess.

Alex took care of us from walking in all the way to dessert He was witty, funny and took the extra time to explain the intricacies of the dishes we inquired about. The experience was phenomenal lead by him and backed up by the kitchen and the rest of the team. This is a cold appetizer which was fine, but did not have the depth of spice or aromatics that we were hoping for. Unfortunately the crispy beef wasn't great in our opinion and reminded me personally of the meat quality at Panda Express. Maybe this dish was meant to cater more to the Western palate. Service was relatively quick, including our duck being sliced up. The interior is elaborately decorated which surprised me as the building appears to be quite simple from the outside. I would consider visiting again next time I'm in the Vegas area.
