First time ordering food from here and we ordered online for pick up. The food was ready on time. The combo meals are decently priced. My husband and I each did the soup and sandwich combo. The broccoli cheddar soup was warm and had good flavor. My sandwich was all sorts of wrong. I ordered the Italian and none of the toppings I requested were on there but there were peppers and jalapeños on it. I'm a wimp with spice so I couldn't even finish the sandwich after picking all that off. To receive specials and offers, make sure to download the app and sign up. The staff was very kind, and the restaurant was clean. The young man at the counter had a difficult time redeeming my free offer since they recently switched to a new system, but someone stepped in to help and still honored my free item while they worked it out. The cookie was good, though my only suggestion would be to make sure the cookies are baked fully in the center--mine was a little undercooked. Our first time here after a bad experience next door. It was just ok as far as the food, nothing I could say let's go get that... but in fairness I got a tuna sandwich, my son had an Italian my hubs had a avocado turkey. One thing I can say is the customer service was good, all the workers we encountered all greeted us, all were polite and helpful with questions. I remember these sandwiches when I was living in Texas but haven't had them in years. We visited AZ and was so glad the franchise made it to AZ. The sandwiches are good but the pickles veggies on the side really elevate the flavors of the sandwich. I think the sandwich is good standalone but how can you pass up the pop of the spicy side of pickled veggies. The feel of the place is the same as all the other locations since it is a franchise but I don't mind that. It was clean and the service was on par. I will be back on my next trip to AZ. read more

My sandwich was delicious! I had the skinny Italian which was just enough for me. It was loaded because I got the works and added cucumber. I made it a meal deal with chips and a drink! My boyfriend had the first sandwich (I forget the name) and he really enjoyed it! The bread was fantastic! Crunchy, soft and warm. We also ordered the chili, which we weren't fans of. Absolutely horrible establishment my mother and I went to get lunch. My mother ordered a BLT we got home. The bacon was half cooked. They told her to come back up and she could choose another sandwich. We get back to the establishment with the receipt and she's told that she has to get the same sandwich. An average-at-best sandwich shop with weak service and a confusing setup, I don't like leaving negative reviews, so let's dissect why is good and bad here. First, the bread they use HAS to be toasted. Otherwise it's stiff. Now, I'm sorry, but I don't like being forced to eat a hot sandwich. Sometimes a cold sandwich is what sounds good, and if the bread is too hard, then that's a no go. The girl working there told me, "you can get it cold but our bread is designed to be hot so it's soft..." whatever. The sandwich fillings are meh. The chicken salad tastes like nothing. The tuna is tasteless too. No interesting sauces, no interesting combinations. Just some very basic sandwich choices. Nothing even remotely unique. In these days of a thousand sandwich joints, boring chicken salad on frozen bread for $15 just doesnt cut it. The service was anemic. I guess I'm getting old because I really like being greeted in some way when I enter a business. It can be anything. Even a "?Hey you "is fine. but here, I walked in, and there was not a single acknowledgment from anybody. I waited an entire four minutes before anybody said anything. Now that may seem trivial, but with everybody tightening their belts, giving indifferent service won't get you much business. I will say that there was nothing wrong here. It wasn't bad. Service here was really nice! Not sure what others are talking about with bad service. Guy who helped us with building the sandwich was very patient (it was my first time in a potbelly) and listened to our special requests. Their foundation soda was flat but they were nice enough to let us have the bottled ones. Sandwich tasted good too. Lettuce was fresh and crunchy. One area of improvement is that voice doesn't travel well inside of the restaurant so it was hard to give or hear instructions from people working there. read more

Let's start with I love the Cuban! Potbelly is one great place to eat. Great food and staff. Let's talk about the Avondale location. Yesterday was our second visit. Both have been relatively the same. Food was pretty fresh. The two young lady's seemed nice but on the flip side kind of acted like they didn't want to be at work. I tried the chili for the first time knowing it comes in a bag and they heat it up. Not to bad. Added some pepper for better flavor. Cleanliness- considering that food locations were closed in the lobbies off and on over the last 2 years you would have expected companies would take the time to detail clean. Not this location. Light fixtures, signage, etc.... It's pretty gross. It makes me wonder how the cook and prep areas are! Overall the food and staff are pleasant. Just don't look up while eating! read more

Service here was atrocious. Ordered online on the potbelly website for toasted pbj sandwiches (one normal pbj and another pbj w/bacon) on the night of 09/06. Came 1-2 minutes on the time and one of the workers said it was finishing up (understandable). Waited another 25 mins just to ask them the status, one of the other workers said it's still being worked on and that they were busy with customers.... literally only 3 people were in. Apparently, the sandwiches were then ready and given to me without an apology, instead it was "have a good night"... nah that left awful impression. And the audacity to give me sandwiches cold.... so the sandwiches were done then why were they cold?.... assumed it was already done and they couldn't put in the effort to actually look for the sandwiches. This place is very friendly. Its like an upgraded Subway with its sandwiches. I like how they have different versions of the same type of sandwich depending on your calorie consumption. I had the Mediterranean Big multi-grain sandwich with chicken. The hummus was really tasty. My boyfriend had the Big Wreck in multi-grain and it was tasty as well, specially the hot peppers. The bread truly was my favorite! I also had the chicken pot pie and you can tell its made with fresh vegetables. We had the oreo shake and it wasn't bad. For me Potbelly's is just okay; nothing great but not terrible. Idk why but it's hard to find an amazing sandwich place that offers something crave'able, does just about everything right, has the perfect toppings or toasts the bread the best or just has that factor where you're like "let's go"! I've been to Potbelly's around the lunch and dinner rushes a handful of times and what's weird is they never seem busy. I have noticed though that this place is bit stingy on the meats. The sandwich I got (The Wreck) supposed to come w 4 diff meats and I added extra turkey; not very reflective from the pic. Something seemed off. Can't put my finger on the exact reason. A few thoughts included.... Why chickpeas? I do love chickpeas, not not on salads. Why no kalamata olives? I have never had any issues with this place. I have been here multiple times. Ordered in person, through their app for pickup and I've ordered through Uber/grubhub. Not once was my order incorrect. Food is always hot, the restaurant is always clean. Workers have been kind and friendly each and every time I have gone. I love this place far more than the other sandwich shops around here. I don't usually do Yelp reviews but after seeing all the complaints I thought it was time for a positive one. I refuse to only leave reviews when I have poor experiences.
