The last two times I placed an order something was missing. The first time I let it go (a bag of chips), but the second time it was two shakes- said that they were out of ice cream! Great sandwiches. Ordered two yesterday, someone learned to cut the onions at the 28th and Hennepin location correctly. They were sliced onions instead of chunks. Had my usual Chicken Club and ordered the Pizza Sandwich as my second because I had a BOGO. The pizza sandwich is surprisingly good. Enough spice and bit of kick to it, was glad I had a soft drink at home. I'm near this location every two weeks on double point Thursday; I'll be back to visit again. read more

Good food with my regular servers however I've noticed a shift in atmosphere since the "new" manager has started. She seems self important and aloof. I've visited twice now and I just thought something needed to be said. Thursday July 18th I noticed her lack of skills, however when I came in on Tuesday the 23rd it was more of the same. I've been to this location more times than I care to admit but 2 young ladies always keep me coming back, Q and Schana. I can see the new managers lack of respect towards them and I'd hate for this location to go down hill because you lose them as amazing employees. There was a little snafu with the delivery to my hospital room, but after that was cleared up everything was pretty good. The only disappointment is that they were out of the dream bar, which is my favorite!!! I ordered a strawberry smoothie with banana. It was pretty good. Not too sweet and it came with two mini cookies shaped like flowers on the straw. It was delivered at a good temp wrapped in tin foil. Next up was the gorgeous jumbo pickle. I am a pickle fiend. For a buck I thought it was a pretty good dill (rimshot!! Don't forget to tip your waiter!) that I could not resist. Now on to the sandwich. I departed from my usual Wreck sandwich and ordered a Cuban. Theirs is pretty traditional, which I love . I hate when places try and get too creative. When half your ingredients are different it's no longer a Cuban!! But I digress... I unwrap my Sammie and it's lovely. Still warm, nice soft bread . It's time to eat! I take a bite and it not only tasted good, but it felt good too. Nice texture, nothing dried out. My only complaint is the mustard. No need for the fancy stuff, the plain yellow would be much better. Keep it simple! Last but not least I ordered a sugar cookie. It's a giant cookie. I actually am just going to have a little taste because I am pretty filled up from all the other food. The cookie is nice and soft. And it tastes delicious. I might not wait too long to finish it. So, to recap. Delivery is a nice option when they get it right. All the food held up on the way over including the smoothie. Everything tasted great. I will order again, definitely, but I'll delete the mustard and add on my own plain yellow mustard. I am so glad I have a Potbelly so close to me! Potbelly is my favorite sandwich shop & this one might be one of my favorite locations! The service was speedy, friendly & convenient! Both of the girls working there were lovely to chat with and they were very accommodating! I got the mushroom melt (one of my favorite if you haven't tried it) and it was just as delicious as I remembered. I will be coming again here soon! read more

It's a little hard to park and get to the Maple Grove location but the whole mall is like that. Parking is just a little odd. Once inside it's warm and welcoming. The staff here are very friendly. This shop is nice to have in the neighborhood, it's been my go-to spot if I'm in the mood for a sandwich. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean with plenty of seating available (pre-COVID), staff are polite, attentive, and good at their jobs. Yep. Really good vegetarian option. Was cheaper WITH extra avocado than other sandwich shops and it tasted WAYYYYY better. It was warmed and not overly baked so the bread wasn't harsh. The cook was really friendly and made sure the avocado was ripe enough. The place was clean and appealing. I'll be back for sure. read more

I'm so happy Potbelly has come to Uptown...I could almost do a little dance. Ok, full disclosure...I might have done a little dance when I heard the news they were opening! How come Downtown and the 'burbs got all the love before? Alright, so Potbelly is absolutely my favorite chain sandwich shop, but I almost hate referring to it as that, because it feels much more like a neighborhood deli than those other places. I will never forget how I first discovered them...I was working in Chicago for a few days and was so busy with clients that I couldn't even sneak away for lunch, so my assistant (who knew nothing about my food preferences) ventured off downstairs in search of sustenance. When she returned, she handed me this inconspicuous little brown bag with a toasty warm sandwich inside (seemingly from a local delicatessen). She said, "I didn't know what you like, so I just got everything on it." EVERYTHING?! I wasn't an everything sort of girl, (and I hated onions and mustard) so I was nervous to take a bite. Hunger soon set in though, so I threw caution to the wind and soon realized the Sandwich Gods (via my assistant) had blessed me with the most delicious sandwich to ever grace my tastebuds! I know that sounds crazy, but I loved it so much I had her get lunch from that little Chicago sandwich den every day while we were there. Before we left town, I asked my sandwich fairy where this "deli" was located and made sure to swing by to check out the name of it before I boarded the "L". It was a cute little place on the 1st floor of the Merchandise Mart called Potbelly with lots of dark wood, chalkboard menus and a potbelly stove in the middle of the room--a far cry from the chain sub shops I was used to. After getting through Midway airport security, I came upon the most unexpected thing: it was as if a golden light shined down from above and I could hear angels singing...for there in front of me was another Potbelly!!! It was kismet. Naturally, I had to get one more delicious 'wich for the road...I didn't know how long it might be before I'd get another chance. Well, to my delight, Potbelly was in the midst of expansion, and just a few months after my trip the first few shop's opened up here in Minnesota. Now over 10 years later more than 20 of these glorious eateries can be found in the state, and the newest one in Uptown! Over the years I've tried a variety of Potbelly's sandwich offerings, including turkey, ham and chicken salad, but my all-time favorite is the roast beef with everything. The flavor of the meat is perfectly complemented by the symphony of toppings, which include mayo, brown mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and italian seasoning, and my favorite: their very own hot pepper blend. It gives your 'wich a kick and single-handedly sets Potbelly's handhelds apart from the other guys. The soups are pretty decent too, and can definitely hit the spot during the frigid Minnesota winters, but my go-to sandwich companion is a little sweet treat known as a Dream Bar. Packed with oatmeal & chocolate (and never dry) it's the perfect sweet companion to a spicy sandwich no matter the weather. So if you're getting bored with the other chain shops, think the only place to get a decent sandwich is your local delicatessen, or simply haven't tried one from Potbelly yet, I encourage you to do so. Terrible for catering! Several of our big catering orders for business meetings have been cancelled last minuted without warning or explaination of why. 90% of the time they don't have a delivery driver. Considering their proximity to offices you would think they would focus on this since I know our building alone orders frequently but the delivery times can be infuriating. Example, ordered today at 11:39 and the earliest delivery available was 1:45 to 2:00. read more
