We spent nearly $200 on a take out dinner for a family. We had to wait an hour for the scheduled pick up. When we got there had to wait another 20 minutes. When we picked up the meal ALL the hot foods were Luke warm, even before we got it home. Also the cucumber salad was made with water and a tiny bit of vinegar so the cucumbers were not properly prepared. Tasted like raw cucumbers. The recipes seem good but the execution is terrible. My fiancee wanted to try this as he heard it was pretty good from some coworkers. Unfortunately our experience was unsatisfactory. Ordering our food wasn't a problem. The people making our sandwich were nice and on top of it. Our problem came when we ordered a shake. We were told it would be a moment because the worker was still making some ahead of ours. Which is understandable. I don't mind waiting. We sit down close to the counter so they see us. During the fifteen minute wait we saw the guy give many people their drinks and even to people that came after us. We have noticed there was a shake waiting on the counter so my fiancee decides to go and ask them about ours. The lady just hands him the shake that has been sitting on the counter for some time. No apology for not giving it to us or anything. We just thought it was very rude service. For sandwiches that are only maybe a step above a warm subway sandwich. We won't be returning, next time we will just stick to jersey mikes and jimmy johns. read more

The food here is really good but their service is terrible. I've been here a bunch of times and and have always had poor service but I keep giving them another chance. Today I had called my order in but when I got there it took about 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me standing there. They were busy but it would have been quicker had I just gone through the line. Literally people had paid and eaten their food before I was even approached by any employee. The last time I came here I had a coupon for a free cookie for ordering online but they gave me some lame excuse on why I couldn't use the coupon. I usually enjoy Potbelly's, although I don't normally feel inclined to go to a sandwich shop since I feel that sandwiches aren't really worth the price when going out. My sandwich was good, but not worth the price. I got a tuna melt with avocado and cucumbers and the works and I really like the style of sandwich here, but the tuna was fairy dry and the sandwich relatively flavorless. My biggest qualm with my experience though was in regards to the service. I ordered online 20 minutes before (after choosing the "ASAP" option) so that I could get to a movie on time and it took ten minutes after the estimated finished time for it to be completed. The reason being was that there was a large crowd that came in a few minutes before my estimated time. Since this was my first time ordering online I went up and inquired about my sandwich at the time it was supposed to be done and the cashier apologized for the wait and told me he would get right on it. It would have been awesome if he ended up doing that, but in reality he waited until the large group (which weren't paying together, just in groups of two or three) had made it through the line before starting on mine. Ordering online is a great and convenient tool. Just don't expect it to reflect the priorities of the actual staff. Just walked into this location on a Sunday night before 7:00pm to get dinner. No one in the restaurant, the young lady working behind obviously saw me walk in. Instead of asking me if I needed help, she decides to walk to the back of the kitchen chewing food in her mouth. I decided to wait for about 8 mins and she if she'll come out and help me. Nope! Potbelly's is a toasted sandwich deli. I'm thinking upscale Quiznos minus the pepper bar. I got the "A wreck" regular size and added lettuce onions hot peppers with Italian seasoning. The sandwich was good. The hot peppers and pickles had a little more heat than I was expecting (Think a solid jalepeno level) but very enjoyable. Meat wasn't overly abundant but all the flavors worked well together. If you are hungry I would recommend going large sized. The regular is a good option but may not fill you up if you have a bigger appetite. Price wise you are looking $5/6 for the regular and about $1.5 more for large. Regular is about eight inches. Service was fast and efficient. I would definitely give them another visit. read more

There seems to be a lot of confusion online on what "Utard" means. All of the definitions of Utard I've found online have been completely wrong. I come in and ask for a pizza sandwich on wheat. The Utard working here asks me if I want mushrooms. I say yes. No other potbelly has ever asked me this question. Once the sandwich was done toasting, I ask if he remembered to put mushrooms in the sandwich. I get a long pause followed buy uuuuuuhhh and "I don't know". I quickly reply, "how can you not know, didn't you just make the sandwich". He asks the the simple yes/ no question again and then says yes he remembered the mushrooms. Getting confused by a simple yes/ no question about mushrooms is a Utard move. Also, asking if I want chicken in my chicken nachos is another Utard move (see my salt lake airport Qdoba review). read more

You may want to check out a menu before you eat here, though. You'll find that there is no nearly the same amount of variety you would get at Subway.
