First time we tried this restaurant and they have lunch specials that will come with a drink, rice and salad. It was very tasty. Serving was excellent as all servers were very nice and a nice and quiet ambiance where you can hold conversations.

Nice decor, and staff. Clean. Pad see ew was solid. Portions were very generous. Flavors were not as bold in the pad thai and green curry as other places but it was fine overall.

Came in to grab an order of orange chicken to go & steam rice less than 10 min My order was taken right away - friendly service

Half bbq chicken plate. Does not come with breast meat.

I was excited to try this place after driving by a few times. Decor is nice. But They use the cheapest cuts of meat. In all the dishes. No flavor in the pad Thai, greasy pad see ew. The half bbq chicken was not half. It was two drums and a thigh. No breast meat which is what I like the most. To advertise as half a chicken is false advertising. When I spoke to the staff they just said that is their version of half a chicken. And walked away. With so many places to eat in the area, I'll never go back to Thai house. They need to do better

Thai spicy fried rice was great. curry flavor was decent but could be stronger. Thai tea was pricey but made well. Ambiance and decor of restaurant were excellent, felt like a lively evening stroll through Thailand. would've given 4 stars but tip % is calculated post tax and the order of their % tip options on the card scanner is not in ascending order. I remember seeing 20% in the top left position then 25% then 15%. Like I understand the hustle but this was kind of disappointing like come on

Food: Amazing and all of the flavors are there. The Tom Kah soup is amazing but would love it even more if they removed the unedible pieces of lemon grass and aromatics out of the broth before serving. Pad see ew was delicious. Crab fried rice was out of this world. Service: Kind a bit on the passive side but it was perfect for date night with my beautiful partner. Ambiance: It has a Thai themed decor with a modern vibe

Pad see ew beef I added chili oil and peppers to it (I like it spicy l) but it was Fresh and delicious!!

The restaurant is clean (including their restrooms) and nice and the staff is friendly. There are lots of menu selections to choose from. We ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and the Tom Yum chicken soup. They didn't have Thai chili peppers with fish sauce but they did have a really good chili oil. We got the Tom Yum at the spicy level. Their levels are mild, medium, spicy and extra spicy. It wasn't as spicy as we expected and tasted more like a medium. Next time we would probably get extra spicy. We were still able to add more chili with the sauces they provided. The Pad See Ew with beef was delicious. The noodles were fresh and had the perfect coating. The flavor was balanced and not too salty or too sweet. It was just right. I was also genuinely surprised by their drinks selection and would come back to try more.

Visited this place recently and I'm confident in saying I have added a new Thai place to my rotation. Device here was excellent staff treated and seated me right away place is nice and clean f el open even though it's not huge. Food was excellent I can tell it was very fresh with high quality ingredients. Everything we ordered was great. The seafood soup was top notch one of the best I have had. I will definitely be coming back. Parking is easy which makes it a plus.

Garlic pepper pork. Tell the chef to put like 10% less soy sauce. Just 10% less and it would be way better.
    Lou E.

Had the garlic pepper pork lunch special. Pretty good but a bit too much soy sauce. However they give u a drink and a salad so its pretty good value for $18. The meat on the garlic pepper pork was nice and soft. I opted for a thai tea with boba (boba wasnt hard). Salad was meh but what can u expect. It wasnt terrible. Service was really good tho All in all i say 4* which means its worth going to if you're nearby. I rarely give out 5* and not often on the 4*.

This is my favorite Thai place in Whittier It is always clean, the waiters are always nice and polite and thankful. I love all their meals, but my Fiance and I always get the tom yum and duck curry.

    Pad see-ew with chicken

We wanted to try a newer Thai restaurant for the first time, and the food tasted great. We got the Thai style beef salad ($16.95), red curry with pork ($15.95), Thai fried rice with chicken ($15.95), and pad see-ew with chicken ($15.95). We waited a few minutes before we got seated. The service was hospitable because the staff regularly checked in on us. This clean restaurant also had a modern ambience. My highlights were the pad see-ew with chicken and red curry with pork. The pad see ew noodles, on the thinner side, were very delicious with their black bean sauce. This was my favorite dish from this meal. We also enjoyed the red curry a lot; the texture and flavors were excellent. I think we'd come back to try different dishes.

We arrived at 8pm and they close at 10pm. There was no accessible parking. They were out of flat thin noodles. We were recommended to get the spaghetti noodles. The noodles were hard so the pad see ew was not very good. The curry dish was definitely the better of the two dishes we tried. We also ordered a side of white rice which was pretty standard. We needed a refill of water twice which we needed to wait a while for since staff was more heavily on the opposite side of where we were sat down. We also needed to wait around for napkins. The place is new and nicely decorated. Overall the food was not good enough for me to want to stop by again. It seems as though you need to arrive a minimum of 3 hours in advance to see if you can get specific noodles. Two out of the three waiters were very kind and attentive after asking for more napkins and water.

    Drunken noodles
    Prajna P.

Probably one of the best Thai food spots I've had in a while. I ordered the panang curry and the drunken noodles. I asked for them to make it vegetarian by removing the fish sauce and any broths. And I added tofu. I didn't have the highest expectations because tofu can be a bit bland but the way it was cooked was perfect and the curry blended perfectly with the tofu. The curry itself has a great amount of spice and has a great flavor. The drunken noodles didn't seem to have a lot of sauce but this was also packed with great flavors. Did not disappoint at all. I will definitely be making this my go to spot. The restaurant seemed very clean and pretty. I went late Sunday night for a pick up order and it didn't seem to be extremely packed but there were a few customers dining in. Bonus: This is a perfect spot for vegans/vegetarians. Plenty of options for meat based dishes and vegetarian.

The Lunch Special came with the entree, rice, salad, and an egg roll. The Pad See Ew was delicious, I wish it had a little more protein. But the flavor was on point. I asked for the cream on the side and they gave it to me in Dixie sample cup the size of quarter. I ordered the spicy basil pork with no bell peppers and to substitute carrots instead. She came back and said it would be an additional $2.00 charge for carrots. I said, it is a vegetable, yes? She said, "do you want it or not?" Hmmmm, I said "sure"... and then mumbled, "but it's coming out of your tip." And they charge extra for steamed rice which should come with the meal ($3.00) Then I asked for a little side of sweet and sour sauce and she said... "that will be $2.00..." I shit you not. The tip will be zero. Food wasn't even that good. AVOID. ----------------------------- THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: Ok, let's be real... I'll give you the full review which I was holding back and being nice.... First of all, carrots are WAY cheaper than bell peppers (BY A MILE), so why am I paying two dollars to swap them in? If anything, It should be less, not more!!! That $6.50 Thai iced tea was a full glass of ice with maybe an inch of tea on top. For real. That's a cheap ass tactic and you know it. LAME. The cream came in a dentist office medicine cup the size of a quarter. After learning that the carrots were going to cost me an extra $2, I figured more cream would probably set me back a few bucks as well so I passed on asking for more. Every single other Thai restaurant experience I've ever had in my lifetime of eating out has been to hand over a little sweet and sour sauce without charging two bucks for it. I'm not asking for a glass full. It's a small little sample FFS. $2.00???? Really??? Are you that hard up?? You must be because there was only one other table eating there. And three dollars for rice that should come with the dish? That's not policy, that's called greed. Yes, I finished my dish... not out of enjoyment, but out of sheer hunger. The dish was swimming in liquid and I ordered a 4 out of 5 spice level and it felt like a 2. Sorry, your business model sucks. $30 for lunch? Screw that. That was a $15 meal that you charged double for. You'll be out of business in no time.

Crab omelette fried rice: the best dish of the night! The crab and omelette are nicely cooked, not overly salty. The rice to egg+crab ratio is great. It is not spicy, the seasoning is just right. I highly recommend this. Mango sweet sticky rice: not bad, just alright. We think the sticky rice is too soft and soggy, not chewy enough. The coconut milk is served on the side so you can pour it based on your preference. The mango is perfectly ripened, very sweet. Tom Yum Noodle Soup with seafood: our least favorite dish. The noodle is very soggy, there's really no texture to it. I know there's the word "noodles" in their name, but we definitely do not remember this noodle option at all. The tom yum soup was not great either, the spiciness is way too strong, so you can't taste much of the sourness. The seafood variety was ok, there are shrimps, fish fillets, mussels, squid, and fish balls. The texture of the squids and fish fillets tasted a bit weird. Their service was nice though we got sorted at a corner, so we had a hard time getting the staff's attention. The restaurant has a very unique decorations. There are a lot of figurines, pictures and statues. Overall, their dishes are either really good or the complete opposite, not sure if I would want to go back again.

Thai Original BBQ, Cerritos -- I am awash with nostalgia whenever I visit the Artesia/Cerritos area…read more-- home to a vibrant Filipino community, and where I lived on-and-off for nearly a decade. It's here that I welcomed the familiar comfort foods from home, and I'm in one of my favorite restaurants: Thai Original BBQ. Its name says Thai, but over time its food has evolved to skew subtly toward a Filipino palate that balances sweet, sour, salty, umami flavors, with a mild level of spice. I wondered: how far has it veered off Thai Town's flavor baseline? Entering the place is like getting into a time capsule -- its décor is exactly the same as when I first ate here 41 years ago. The long saltwater aquarium is still there, as are the same red vinyl cushioned booths. But the carpeting is noticeably threadbare, and the starched white table linens are long gone, revealing washed-out Formica. Thai Original BBQ is known for its single-plate meals featuring proteins and vegetables over sweetish rice stir-fried in Nam Prik Pao, resulting in its orange color. Tonight's dinner was our time-tested reliables: the Combination Soup, Satay Dinner, and Chicken Ruby Dinner. The combination soup was served in a fire pot. Its comforting stock is translucent, with no visible scum - packed with umami from the fish sauce and heaped with pieces of chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetables. So comforting, even on a warm night! The satay dinner consists of eight skewers of thinly sliced flank steak, grilled to perfection, with a sweet-spicy and creamy peanut dipping sauce. And the Chicken Ruby dinner was impressive -- a whole Cornish hen, stuffed with a sausage made from a mixture of pork, rice, and glass noodles, then deep-fried whole. This delectable dish will make the "Colonel" tap out. These dishes are how I remember them -- and they bring back so many fond memories of family get-togethers. Eating here turns every meal into a mindful event. My wife and I hardly spoke to each other while eating - it wasn't being rude at all. The silence came from a quiet joy -- from something familiar, from something comforting. Thai Original BBQ did not veer as far from what we've always welcomed as Thai as I had wondered. In many ways, Thai food is similar to Filipino food: a balance of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy elements. Fish sauce is foundational to both cuisines, providing saltiness and umami, while coconut juice, palm sugar, and tamarind bring sweetness and sourness. Thai Original BBQ is really a taste of home. Five stars -- no asterisk, no hesitation.
