The freakin best Chinese food. You can't even tell it is vegan for the plant-based options. It's soooooo good. One of my carnivore friends suggested this place to me. At first, I was hesitant because it's about an hour or so away from me. I dragged my feet and wondered if it would really be worth the long trip. Eventually, I came around, after my friend brought it up several times, and continued to rave about it. Last weekend my friend and I traveled to Whittier to hit Pots n Wok's, and WOW. I was shocked at how good it is. The vegan orange chicken- AMAZING. The vegan beef of broccoli- AMAZING. The vegan chow mein- AMAZING. Cashew chicken- AMAZING. Walnut Shrimp- AMAZING. Everything tasted the way it is supposed to, and super fresh. This food could definitely fool meat eaters lol The only item that I didn't care for was the vegan cheese wontons. Update - I read about additional vegan options, which weren't available or that I didn't try the first time I went, so I went again. The "beef" in their vegan beef dishes is tough to eat and their kung pao "chicken" was 75% onions (very unappetizing). The orange chicken seems to be the best offering (to me) but definitely the oil level was noticeably much more this time in the chow mein and vegan meat entree options. In addition, their drink options (slushes, etc) are being phased out. Lastly, despite asking ahead if a particular item was available, being told 'yes' and paying for it, had to deal with getting refund because apparently, the item was not available. Very small eatery set up for take out and also dine-in. About 10-12 tables max and an almost constant stream of people dining in or here for take out. I had the Wor Wonton. It was damn good...Sho' am good: loaded with shrimp, pork, dumplings, chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, bok choy.. Very tasty broth...I added some Sriracha hot sauce and some soy sauce and it took it to another level of tastiness. Was definitely Sho' am good and cost only $12. The only suggestions I have are to have a public restroom available and more frequent wipedowns of the tables. read more

We love coming here! We travel all the way from the valley just for THIS Chinese food. This is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had, it's no competition. Not only do they have great Chinese food, they have amaaazing vegan Chinese food! I have never found another place where I can get this authentic tasting Chinese food that's vegan. We've been coming here for years now and will continue coming here. The food is well portioned for the price point, as you can see they really pack in the noodles! The drinks are good, I usually get an ube milk tea but this time I got the Thai tea which was delicious! I always get vegan orange chicken and chow mein noodles. They had some labubus and other trinkets on the wall which I think they were selling but I didn't ask. I've had vegan chinese food before but not the way they do it. I've come in hungry and left happy knowing they do a good job making tasty food. I even had an incident where my debit card was lost outside of their store and they managed to inform me of that and I was able to retrieve it right away. When you want good vegan Chinese food... You go to Pots n Woks! I've been going here for about a year, and it's too bad I can't seem to find vegan Chinese food in Orange County. However, it's definitely worth the 25 mi drive here. You can follow them on Instagram for special BOGO days that happen from time to time. On BOGO days, you can get 2 orders of vegan food with huge drinks (you can choose Thai tea or a variety of lemonade) for a little over $30. The portions are huge, and my go-to items are the HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP and ORANGE CHICKEN. The broccoli beef is like a 3.5 out of 5, but I probably wouldn't get it again. The honey walnut shrimp is the best! They also have vegan a la carte items for $16/order- does not come with fried rice or chow mein. The BOGO orders all come with 1/2 fried rice and 1/2 chow mein (you cannot choose), but they are flavored well. There is a lot of MSG in the food, but it is tasty. I wish they used a little less... so better gulp down the drinks that come with the order. Their drinks are probably around 32 oz, so I end up sipping on them the whole afternoon lol. Where to begin!?! We wanted to try a new place since our OG spot is a little far, I went off of the positive reviews here on yelp. So first I want to start with the customer service or lack there of, the girl at the register was really rude, she was sitting there on her phone she didn't acknowledge us until I asked if I could get a sample of the orange chicken since it was our first time there and she rudely responded "we don't give samples". I could understand due to health concerns but she could've said "sorry we don't give samples anymore" something but no just a blank stare. I know everyone has bad days but were they not looking for customer service skills when they were hiring people? They're looking to hire people according to their sign so hopefully they get it right with whoever they hire next. Sad because just the customer service alone was so off putting we almost said fuck it and left but we were already there. Now on to the prices! Lord have mercy I know we are experiencing inflation but $11 for a bowl!? And a two item plate $16!!!! Not even Pandas prices are that high!!!! We ended up getting two bowls and we saw they also had macaroni salad so we got a small side $4! When I saw the small side I laughed so hard because it literally fit in the palm of my hand! It was not even good it was very bland! A waste of money in my opinion. Now on to the food and the ONLY reason they got any stars. The bowls were a good portion, the noodles were cooked very well not too soggy and they're thin, the fried rice was VERY salty but had good flavor. Honestly I will never go back. The orange chicken was ok had a good breading and good chunks of chicken however the chicken had a very weird after taste almost like an eggy flavor and the same with my kung pao chicken. The kung pao had a good spice to it but the amount of chicken it did have was sparse and it was more veggies than chicken, however the veggies were good very well they were not overcooked or soggy. Last but not least the place itself the windows were very dirty from the outside and inside and from the outside you could barely tell if it was open, had it not been for the open sign and yelp I would think this place is out of business and could seriously use some upkeep. The inside was better-ish they have placed to sit but the chairs are very very uncomfortable but I get it it's fast food. ANYWAY if you want to pay for overpriced regular schmegular Chinese food you should try it but personally I would save the trip and opt out for panda or any other place to be quite honest! read more

The vegan egg rolls barely had anything in them and were also bland and disappointing. My husband didn't care for the orange chicken and I didn't care for the vegan orange chicken b/c it was mushy by the time we got home. Could just be that the food doesn't travel well. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's too far away for me to get to and too far away to get it delivered. I hope this location opens up an all-vegan traveling truck or location closer to central LA. Literally, everything I had tasted great. A part of me is glad there isn't a closer location because I'd probably go broke eating out here often. There was a long line and a wait because this place is popular and known for its great-tasting vegan food. I wasn't sure if we were going to get a seat but we did. There's no outdoor dining which is a bummer... but overall I left with a positive experience. I've heard great things about this place and I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to try it out when I work 10 min away. Came during weekday lunch and there were a few people ahead of me. I'm no vegan, but if I were, this would definitely be an amazing spot for Chinese food cravings. They have SO many vegan options that you normally don't see. It's great. SERVICE - very friendly and sounded like they were more than happy to help answer questions, regardless how hard they were working of fulfilling not only in-store orders, but online and call-in orders as well. It was great to see their system PARKING - plenty parking, nothing to worry about FOOD - VERY good. I got meat entrees so I think the only things that were default vegan were the chow mein noodles and fried rice (I could be wrong so be sure to ask to confirm). Got the char siu/bbq pork (extra $.50) and broccoli beef. Both were very good! Fresh food was coming out fairly quickly and I'm assuming it was because they were fulfilling orders quickly. Chow mein noodles could've used an "umph" but overall, I enjoyed everything. PRICE - Super decent prices. Very fair for how much food they pack in a single container. My $12, 2-entree plate, became 2.5 meals so it worked out great. Overall, I'll definitely be back to try more of their food options and hey, maybe even their vegan entrees! It's unfortunately all the way in Whittier so I had to take the drive because I was really craving it and it's the closest place I can find this type of food/experience as a vegan. I was s anticipating to try this place, what a let down! I was charged $16.25 for a 2 item combo. The menu board says $12.75. If they charge $1.00 extra for Mongolian beef or $1.00 extra for bbq pork, wouldn't you think they pace it somewhere so people can see it? The tax in LA County is what, 10%? I should have been charged less than $14 for the meal. The lady rings me up for $16.25. Really? I don't see any restroom for the customer to use. Do they charge you for that as well? One good thing is that they pack the food up to the rim of the lid, which is a good thing. They give you enough food to feed a hungry village in Africa. Panda Express, take notes. This is my first & last time here. They don't have plastic cup for water, they only have bottled water so they charge you.
