My friend and I have been here a couple of times and were overcharged the last time...had to ask them to recharge my card. They tried making me pay almost $60+ for something that we usually pay $44 for. So yeah, keep in mind the vegan 1-item is $20 with tax. And the shrimp is absolutely disgusting. It doesn't even resemble food. I had the worst headache from it that went onto the next day, and I couldn't even finish it. It tastes like rubber, and it's the worst vegan food I've ever had. We will NOT be returning as the service is atrocious, and there are a million other Chinese food spots in the area. At first, I thought it was special because it is vegan, but it's not anymore. Beware of being ripped off.

I was craving Chinese food so decided to stop in. This spot is always busy and well maintained, with a very cool vibe. The staff is extremely pleasant, welcoming, and friendly. As for the food, it's very good, probably the best take out in Whittier. The Ingredients are fresh, tasty, and full of flavors. They give huge portions at very reasonable prices. You can't go wrong coming to Pots N Woks when craving authentic Chinese food.

So dare I say this is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had? It's true! There is plenty of parking so no need to worry. It's located is a shopping center and it looks pretty freshly renovated. The service here is great, they are super friendly and welcoming. But let's talk about the food, the real deal! I got the combo C. I got the bbq pork, the mushroom chicken, beef broccoli, with half fried rice and chow mien. The food tasted so fresh and delicious, they pack your plate too! This was definitely my favorite Chinese food place of all time.

The Absolute best vegan Chinese food I've ever had!! Always incredible!! 10/10 every time!! Wish there was a location closer to me, but I'll make the drive for now. Must get the orange chicken!

Food is decent and their hours and customer service is ass. They're only open like 6 hrs a day at random hours. Never past 7 or 8pm.

45 min wait for food that already made sitting in front of you. You should take care of your walk in patron. Food is sub par.

Ask the Community - Pots n' Woks

Are there still low carb options available?

Hi do they still offer catering?

I believe they do, yes.

Are you on any food delivery apps?

I've ordered Pots n' Woks via Uber Eats -but it will show as 'unavailable' when the restaurant is closed (Mon-Tues i think)

Is anything gluten free?

No, they no longer have gluten free things on their menu.

What are the vegan proteins made of?

Mostly soy I believe

Do you have non vegan meats? Like real meats as well as vegan?

Yes! Options for carnivores and vegans LOL

Are the vegan options available to order on the side as while?

Unfortunately not. Their vegan options are the main courses and they make em fresh to order so you gotta wait about 10-20 min (depending on how busy) for the food to be ready :) unless you call ahead. They do have vegan desserts on the side though.

Does anyone have an idea how much a platter of vegan Chao mein and vegan kung pao chicken for about 10 people cost?

All alternative meats cost more than actual meat... it's not far off from Panda Express where you get less food same + price and not vegan nor vegetarian. They give you a lot of food and in my experience vegan isn't cheap. I think their price…

Any gluten-free options?

Rice noodles

For the vegan plate is it possible to get half orange chicken and half beef broccoli?

There is no orange chicken or beef broccoli @ Hafez cafe! It's a Persian food not Asian!

What is the vegan walnut shrimp made of?

What is the vegan chicken made out of?

I believe soy and wheat gluten !

Does anyone know how to contact the owner? What's her name?

She is usually there. I would try calling her or showing up.

Is all the menu vegan?

They have a separate menu of vegan yummyness. They make all the vegan entrees specially for you.

Recently had a craving for some Chinese food while in Whittier. I've passed here many times but…read morenever stopped in until now. Parking is easy as it is a large shopping center. As you enter u are immediately greeted. The location is small but clean. This spot has the premade Chinese favorites on display for you to select from. Somehow the foods here had a delectable appearance, much more inviting than expected. We tried the usuals, orange chicken (very good), egg fu yung (amazing), kung pao (great sauce) and crispy chicken (ok). Surprisingly the rice was not the usual dry fried rice and was good. The chow mein was also good. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality at this location and would definitely return. Minus one star for not accepting multiple forms of payment.

There's always that one asian lady who's rude and there's another nice one. The rude one really takes advantage. I went in once to buy two small boxes of food one crispy chicken and one orange chicken. She charged me around 8-9$. I didn't think much of it. I went in two weeks after for the exact thing but the other nicer lady charged me around 5-6$. Idk who they're trying to play dumb but it ain't me. I go on my break here and there and end up disappointed in the food after. I went in once ordering my food the lady next to me wanted a whole plate of one item and she was willing to pay for it and the mean asian lady practically almost yelled at her saying she couldn't get a whole plate and told her if she got one item on a whole plate she was going to charge her double, and pointed at little containers that if she wanted one item only it would have to be from the small containers. I don't think i'll ever be back i get disappointed every time i go. They deserve to either have good customer service or get out of business.

I've been looking for a good Chinese food spot around my area and happened to come across this…read moreplace, and honestly it exceeded my expectations. I believe it's family owned and the food tasted fresh, flavorful, and really well made. I got the orange chicken and it was nice and crunchy with a lot of flavor, not soggy like some other places can be. The chow mein was also really good, and the war wonton soup was delicious and very flavorful. The serving size was big too, perfect for a cold day or when you're not feeling well. The portions here are generous and the service was friendly. The place itself is on the smaller side, so I personally chose to take my food to go, but you can definitely eat there if you want. It seems like a really easy spot to call in an order and pick it up. Overall I was really happy with everything and definitely plan on coming back. Really good spot to try if you like Chinese food.

A solid choice for that random craving of Chinese food…read more PARKING: weird little lot. The area is mostly covered by a mini grass field. We found a spot close by thankfully. APPEARANCE: a little unassuming to be honest. It's your average Chinese food restaurant. FOOD: we came 30 minutes before closing. We asked for some orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, this popcorn type of shrimp with a spicy seasoning, and chow mein. The orange chicken, popcorn shrimp, and chow mein definitely stole the show. The man attending us PACKED those little trays with food. We were fed next day thanks to his generosity. They even cooked us some more orange chicken :D very considerate of them! SERVICE: They were friendly, straight to the point, helpful, and efficient :) we were out in like 5 minutes tops! Definitely a fun little spot to hit up if you're looking to fill the stomach. A little low on the quality side but the flavors made it worthwhile for us. We'll be returning here that's for sure

Chinatown Express continues to impress us with their amazing customer service, attention to detail,…read moreand consistently delicious food. I truly appreciate how welcoming the staff is, especially Joanna, who remains kind, happy, and attentive no matter how busy the day is or how many customers are waiting. My boys often request that we pick up food from here because they know they will be greeted politely and sometimes even surprised with a drink or extra egg rolls, which makes the experience even more special for them. The wait can be long, but that is clearly mentioned in many reviews, and even customers in line remind others that it may take some time. What stands out is that no one is rushed. Every customer who reaches the front receives undivided attention and great service. The food is always amazing, and I love that there are sometimes new menu items to try. I have also ordered food for family parties, and it is always a hit. Everyone gives positive feedback, and I always emphasize how yummy and reliable the food is. Thank you, Chinatown Express, for your consistency, kindness, and great food!
