AVOID POWERS.....Installed 24 windows. Over 50% started getting grainy between panes. Ordered in June 2023 replace inferior panes. 12 months later says it will take another 6 months and then they will have to order the others that have gone bad since last year and that will take another 6 months. These were not manufactured properly as the seal goes bad, some quickly some not as fast. Time for replacement is not acceptable. Also if you have thses installed you will loose a large percentage of light that comes into your home. We lost 4% on each window x 24 is 106 sq inches of sunlight we lost with these windows. The window drip hole is too large and allows spiders and bugs to get on the inside of the screens. read more

I wanted to post an update to my previous review. I did end up calling Power Home Remodeling in regards to the missing peephole in my door. I believe I spoke with Doug (the project manager), not 100% sure about his name, anyway, he was very polite. He seemed genuinely willing to help fix my problem and more importantly got my issue fixed. He provided me with updates regarding when the peephole would be in his possession and when someone could come out to install it. Within the week, Jimmy arrived at my home to install the peephole and did an excellent job. He was also very friendly. read more

This is a hard-sell company that goes door to door drumming up business. Very professional and friendly salesperson, and the meeting started off well for the free estimate. 90 minutes later (literally) he started showing my wife and me all his products and then started writing down a myriad of numbers on a pad, and punching away on his calculator. Bottom line - a ridiculously high price for a new roof. BUT - if I agree to sign up today he can give me a lower price. But that price is only good for today. High pressure sales, and even that lower price was way high, based on estimates I got from other local roofing companies. read more

This is our 2nd time using Power Home Remodeling. They came and replaced our front door when it bowed and allowed a draft. This second time, replaced all remaining doors. Sales members didn't try the hard sale, not pushy, and wanted to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I had a door installed by power a few years ago. At this point the glass in my door is sliding down the inside of my door, thus losing some of the aesthetic appeal of the door. After contacting power about this over 2 years ago I am still waiting on a resolution. Power states the manufacturer of my door is no longer in business and they are looking into a solution to fix it. At this point I have lost faith in this company to fix my door and have just learned to live with it. As a company that prides itself on warranties, they have fallen well short of the mark. I cannot say enough good things about this company! I had a roof replaced and other repair work done. From the moment they were on the job I knew things were being taken care of. Everything was communicated: scheduling, pricing, material drops, you name it. The entire job was done in a short amount of time because they sent a crew of six (hardworking) guys. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and offer the way out by reiterating that I was not interested at this time, but that was apparently not enough. I could have closed the door in the middle of the conversation but they continued to probe and physically not allow me to close it even when I said I needed to get off to an appointment and as a result of their aggressive approach, I was late. I will say that on the front end and even during installation, my experience was pretty decent. There were supply chain issues that caused delays, but I will not fault them for that. However the lifetime warranty is simply meaningless. It provides you with a lifetime of negotiating for even the simplest of fixes. I had all new gutters installed. Despite asking in advance for some idea of where the downspouts would go and connect to two rain barrels I wanted to use to collect some of the water, they did no advance work and I was left to decide on the spot where to put them. I am not a drainage expert, nor was I told that almost all of the water would be coming down one drain, overflowing my rain barrel and therefore flooding the back side of my house. I had two other gutter-related issues that should have been fairly simple to fix. It took months to get someone to come out to the house, but of course that person was not equipped to actually fix the problem. A second person came out and took more pictures. Both agreed it was a problem that they should fix. I must have called them a half dozen times to see what the status was and no one ever called back. Every time I called I had to get into a lengthy conversation because no one ever seemed to understand the problem. I am now 10 months past install of the gutters, and all I could get is an appointment two months from now for them to fix one of the three installation mistakes they made. I will be digging a variety of drainage trenches to fix the problems they made. The customer service on the back end is just incredibly, laughably bad. read more

I called Power Home Remodeling (PHR) to schedule an estimate for attic insulation in my Silver Spring townhouse. The guy who answered the phone asked up-front for my address. Then he asked if I work from home. (He explained that PHR won't schedule an appointment while someone is working from home.) **After** this intrusive interrogation, he determined that they would not accept the job unless the owners of the two units next to mine were also present. (We have common attic with no walls in between.) This sounds like a high-pressure tactic to get contracts from all three of us. The other two owners should have the option to hire their own contractors. I felt it was really sleazy of him to ask my address before deciding that PHR would not accept the job. We were on a recorded line, so PHR now has a record of my address, which is an invasion of my privacy, as well as a piece of info that can be used for ID theft. Checking the free Maryland court online database at https://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch/inquirySearchParam.jis , I discovered that P.G. County won a $26,485 judgment PHR for a contract violation. There was another judgment against them in 2013 for $2,256. The owner, Adam Kaliner, also had a $1,294 judgment against him for non-payment of Maryland taxes in 2013. read more

We had a salesman come to the door to offer an on the spot roof inspection which we declined as we had plans, and I don't do door to door offers. He continued to push options for other dates. We do need a roof so we finally agreed-- mistake 1. Mike & Tom, two very friendly salesmen came out. We were told our neighbor had "their's" done as well. I was shown pictures of our roof with many damaged tiles, and they strongly recommended getting gutters and soffits After all was done, they had an estimate but said if we decided on the spot we'd get a better deal ($5-6k less)---(the power of creating urgency or losing out if not). We agreed to the project. After they left, we asked our neighbor about satisfaction, and were told they didn't do their roof, only a window. I checked multiple sites for reviews. Only window reviews. The photos they had downloaded to me showed only 1 buckled tile and a nail pop, not all the damaged shingles he had shown on his tablet. I had uneasy feelings. I called the company the next day & left 3 different messages for either of them to call me back. Nothing. Five days after the 1st meeting, we decided to cancel w/I the time allowed. I was told "someone had to come to the house for us to sign a document of cancellation in person and we'd get a copy"). I said I don't want someone to try to change our mind and was assured it wasn't for that. The "Someone" was the original salesperson who again pressured us that the new company wasn't as good if the estimate was that much lower (1/3 the cost), that his company is the biggest, repeatedly asked why since we said we were sure, but defensively countered when I answered. He arrived an hour early. I firmly said we want to cancel and it's w/I our rights. He left with a sarcastic comment about the other company (I had not told him who it was) and gave back a business card we had given him. Childish but no loss to us. . SO there was no "person to sign off" and no printed copy as we were told by the company when I cancelled. More deceit. I would Not recommend this company at all. WARNING.....DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT purchase from them. My mild manner elderly mom purchased window from them over two years ago. I wish I could say that they completed the project. After waiting over 6 months for the initial installation the bay window arrived defective along with some other minor adjustments that required attention with several of the other windows. Oh I forgot that some of the windows were ordered incorrectly. Well, once they have you on the hook all that great, pushy, persistent, customer service goes out the broken window. It's been over 30 months & the bay window that is now a broken bay window still requires them to come back. They broke it in November during their 3rd attempt at replacing the window. 1st time the window was damaged, the 2nd time the window didn't fit, 3rd time they broke it. My mom had to endure the winter months with a cold dining area and an unsightly window being held together with blue tape . When my mom finally decided over a year ago to inquire about the windows all she got was excuses like, we are in dispute with the manufacture & she should contact them. Like really.... Fast forward, I reached out in an effort to help get this resolved and got no where. I asked for the contact information for someone other than the manager who said everyone in that department is a manager. Well who is your superior??? They out right refuse to give you that information but have no authority to do anything. To get me off the phone, I was told he would have his superior to call & would personally follow up the following Monday. Neither happened. They lied & pretended to be expediting & prioritizing the installation to a sooner date within a month. Once again several months have gone by. As soon as they hang up you are forgotten & go back to the end of the line. Just a couple weeks ago, they called & said they were coming to replace the window. No one showed up. When they were contacted, they said my mom was not on the schedule. Well we have a voicemail saying otherwise. Mr CEO, Mr Owner, Mr Director, who ever you may be I hope you read this. This practice is horrible for business. My mom deserves compensation for all that she has had to endure throughout this. Give her her money back for that bay window that has been years in the making. Replaced our dormer windows in June 2022. Have called them several times beginning 4 months post installation to fix things because of the pathetic installation. Windows look like they were installed by an elementary school class. Windows have leaked for at least 8 months and they have come back 2 times to fix since reporting leak. It still leaks a lot. I called again to have them come out to look at it and they refused. Said it was my roof without even checking it. It isn't New roof installed December 2023. Same leaks. Underneath the window. We know this because we cut out wall underneath window. 1 year and 7 months after waisting $12,700 on windows, contracted Anderson Windows to replace. PHR can't install or fix anything. Had windows replaced in my home and had a great experience. Crew showed up with all materials needed and were very considerate in laying tarps to protect floors and furniture. Crew was very efficient at removing and installing windows and foreman came by and walked through the installation process as I had some questions. Once installation was complete I had another walk around on the project and was able to sit down and talk with the foreman about the warranty in case any issues come up in the future. Post job cleanup was pretty thorough and the crew returned any items they moved to their previous locations. read more

Salesman setup appointment for next day and bragged about being a Pella representative. Next day a guy shows up from power home remodeling in a car with no ladder. My wife questioned the guy and asked him why he was not Pella. He told us that it we did understand how the system worked in an extremely insulting manor. The company was not Pella but used there windows. Of course the guy was sent packing. We filed a complaint with VA BBB and contacted Pella corporation. I got done replacing siding, gutters and windows from the company in August 2019. Though, all the work went fine but the fact that there is actually warranty service does not make sense to me. While the crew was out at my house to do the siding they had installed an open (without protection from pests) cover flap for my dryer vent outside that goes on siding. Well, I told the head of the crew that very day that please install cover guard for protection from insects and birds, but he said it should be fine and didn't install it. So, I thought it must be fine. Later in the next year between February - March 2020, birds started building deep nests and when I called the company's warranty dept. while Covid began that please come and fix this for me as it was not my mistake, they said that they wouldn't be able to fix this problem. I even send them pictures of birds building nest and they said it is not their problem and they don't fix such issues. They wouldn't even reimburse me if I called some handyman or pest control to come fix this. I eventually had to pay about $300 out of pocket to get this fixed from an outside pest control company. We had a door and windows installed by the Power home group which were installed in Feb 2019, we have had issues with the front door threshold after a few years and they came out and replaced the threshold but told us that the threshold was defective and if it breaks again to call them and they would come out and replace it again under the lifetime warranty. It broke again earlier this year, we called and were told by the warranty department that they no longer warranty the door, because they have changed door manufactures. We had 3 separate calls with them, and were told it would cost us to have the part replaced First it was for the labor, next call was for the price of the part, third call was also the price of the part was a different price. I have tried to have a manager from the warranty department call me back so I can discuss that the door isn't even over 5 years old and has broken 2x. I have been ghosted by the warranty department for over 2.5 months. They refuse to fix the door, without paying them first, we have rain that blows in under the door, and have to have a item placed at the bottom of the door to stop the cold air from entering. Do not use this company they do not honor their warranty and will ghost you. read more

They were friendly and professional from the first contact person through the sales process and ultimately the delivery. I never felt like just a $, but they really want a customer for life since they do windows, siding, roof, etc for our older homes. The products were top end. The worst company. They are SCAM! The crew installed windows incorrect, caulking was done so bad that I couldn't even believe my eyes when I saw it. All the manager came out to "inspect" the work in and out! Nobody saw windows weren't installed correctly... We have been dealing with all sort of different issues from poor caulking, gaps between frames inside and walls inside, incorrect insertion of the window frame etc. You name it! One of the manager even said about the gaps - let's wait till we get the freezing weather and if you will see a condensation/ frost appears inside the windows we can come back and fix it.... Wait WHAT!!?? I paid over 35K and you want to test my windows if there was an air leak when it gets below zero or may be not...How about just get the proper work and the correct installation done from the very beginning.... This is not all! But besides many calls to the office, one of the managers Bryan B. didn't want to give me his last name because he said he didn't feel safe with me asking to share his information, WOW! I thought this is what professional businesses do - hire "professional" managers to run the logistics and etc. Not only that they brought a lot inconvenience to us, Bryan B. also assaulted me how he felt unsafe share his information with me. There is still a lot to share. But that's a very unprofessional company to work with in every meaningful sense of this word. read more
