Pomegranate Cosmo and winter mistletoe mule
    Matt I.

Delicious meal at the Powerhouse with my fiance and a friend, to the tune of cocktails, apps, dinner and dessert. The restaurant was staged beautifully and decorated for a between-the-holidays meal, and even though it was packed there was only a low undertone of voices from the surrounding tables. Our waiter was fantastic and gave honest, informed suggestions that showed great menu knowledge. The cocktails were creative, well-balanced and refreshing; we tried the pomegranate cosmo, winter maple old fashioned, mistletoe mule, holiday margarita, and butterscotch espresso martini. The whipped ricotta and poached pear crostini really stood out and was an incredible way to begin the meal, but don't sleep on the bacon wrapped scallops. I could have eaten a bowl of that sweet corn puree and even though it's a party favorite, the smokey/sweet bacon/scallop combo was even more crisp/tender than most their kind. For entrees, we rattled off some Chilean sea bass (w/ citrus beurre Blanc), linguine and clams, and spicy chicken pappardelle, finishing with a few lunges at their Classic House Made, original 1989 recipe, Peanut Butter Pie. Normally my fiance and I split our entrees; unfortunately, I couldn't come up from the Sea Bass long enough to even offer her a bite. It was really a wonderful sauce, and a perfect amount to swirl around in the risotto. I was able to score the remainder of the clam linguine as leftovers, and even heated up in the microwave two days later it still qualified as a top three clam linguine dish I've ever had; buttery, lemony, garlicky goodness.

Service 10 of 10. Food 10 of 10. It was a ride but worth it. Go. The risotto was fab and the soups were perfect. We will ho back.

ALL things top rated! Our anniversary and birthday in one celebration meal. Stellar service, life-changing lobster (LOL), decadent dessert. GO!

Devin provided excellent service. We love this restaurant. Great food and a cool atmosphere. We visited the PE on Sunday for an early dinner. We started with the meatballs. They were delicious but could have been a little hotter in temperature. I had the prime rib with green beans and fry's. The rib was cooked perfectly. Ended with the strawberry- rhubarb cobbler. If you are in the White Haven area, stop in for a delicious meal.

Positives: Great ambiance and an awesome drink menu. Negatives: my issue is that they need more wait staff. Our waiter was handling inside and outside tables. We were a party of 6 with a 7pm dinner reservation. We were ten min early, but were seated immediately. Drinks were ordered and came out after 20 minutes. We ordered appetizers which condidted of soups, wedge salads and oysters. It goes downhill from here. We were brought bread for the table at 7:45. Appetizers came out a little bit after that and they were very good. Entrees came out at 8:40 and we were one of the few customers left in the restaurant. I ordered a crab crowned filet mignon. Flavor was ok, but the food looked and tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp. It was cold in the edges and warm in the center. Seasonal vegetables were green beans which were cold and I ordered a rice pilaf which appeared to be white rice with diced carrots. Not what I imagined for rice pilaf. I ate the steak, but not much else. Dessert was great. We had creme brulee. There seems to be a staffing issue as our waiter was all over the place. After finishing my drink and 2 glasses of water I sat empty until the food arrived at which point, the water was filled and I had to initiate to ask for a 2nd drink. I would give this place a 2nd chance but it's a 45 minute drive to gamble with a 2nd experience. But they definitely need to fix whatever staffing issue they had because that experience was not worth $200 a couple.

I ate here weeks ago & still think about these delicious crab cakes. Those potato's were INSANE. Also our waiter was very sweet and attentive. Beautiful establishment & very professional staff.

This is our third trip here and as always the food was wonderful! Our only issue was not prepared to spend almost two hours there and over an hour for our food. Our waiter was great! Upbeat and always on the move! It seemed he was the only waiter there so maybe that contributed to the pace. The food is totally worth the wait! We will always recommend and continue to come here!

Very dark road to the area but amazing interior. Waiters were nice and attentive but the food took close to an hour to come out. Love their bread and their specialty butter. Delicious and keeps you wanting more. The stuffed mushrooms were a great appetizer to start off. Great flavors. 5/5 The duck was a hit and miss. In general the cook was great. Needed more sauce but the not all the fat was rendered well so you ended up with a few super chewy pieces that becomes unpalatable. Considering how few pieces it's a shame. 2/5 Overall it was an ok experience. Might have had better luck with a different main.

The food was really good! I ordered the balsamic fig pork chop and it was delicious! Ordered it medium and it was nice and tender. The service was good. I loved the powerhouse ambiance with the brick walls and pipes hanging.

We've been wanting to go to powerhouse for a while and finally got to dine there. I was hoping to be blown away which seemed far fetched! Service was just ok and the food was mediocre. I'd say the burrata salad was the best part of our meal.

12 ounce New York Strip Steak
    Louis A.

The Powerhouse Eatery is one of the best places to get a high end (meaning expensive) meal in the area. The ambiance of a power house was very cool. I had the 12 ounce NY Strip with fries and green beans. The service was great even though Karen was overloaded with tables. The fries were delicious and the green beans were cooked to perfection. My steak, while cooked as I ordered and flavorful, was covered with a reduction sauce that masked the poor cut of meat. For a rib eye it would have had an excessive amount of fat, however for a Strip steak I felt it was unacceptable. The reduction hid large chunks of inter muscular fat that ruined the bite. My dinner companions had the pork and another also had the strip. Both seemed to be very happy with their meal so my steak may have just been a poor cooks selection.

They got the "I-tis "...well worth it.

Is this place casual or fancy?

We were traveling so we were dressed casually and felt comfortable. You could easily dress up and enjoy that also. The food alone is worth dressing up for. I miss this place! Enjoy.

There is plenty of off street parking on the side and to the rear of the restaurant. We had reservations and were promptly seated. Our server (I wish I could recall her name) was fantastic. Very friendly, took out drink order quickly (by the way this is BYOB) and asked us if we wanted to put in an order for appetizers. We ordered the following appetizers: pepper shooters, fried calamari and the pork belly. Salads come with every meal and a nice small charcuterie board is complimentary. My steak came out exactly as I ordered it and was tender, well seasoned and hot when I received it. The chicken was very tasty and always also served hot. I really can't say enough about he server. She was a young darker haired girl with a great personality and very confident when she read us the specials. She even made a few suggestions, all of which were very good. The atmosphere is really nice and bother owners came to our table at the end of the evening. The owners were very cordial and talked to use for a short period of time. I wish the owners the very best of luck but I don't think they'll need it as this is a very well run restaurant. The pricing was very reasonable and overall, an excellent choice for a nice dinner.

We were seated in a cozy back room with a fireplace. We started off with a couple Caesar salads to share, and it was honestly one of the best I've had. The croutons were so good I wanted to ask for a bag to go. We all got steaks for our entrees. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and super tender. The au poivre sauce wasn't our favorite, but the béarnaise and shallot butter were really good. For sides, we ordered the carrots, potatoes au gratin, mashed potatoes, and truffle fries. Sides are large and can definitely feed 2-3 people. Tbh, sides fell short compared to the steak. The potatoes were a little bland. The carrots were the favorite among the sides. Our server was amazing and even offered us a ride to Shenanigans, which was unexpected but so nice.

Plus, it's a hidden gem kind of place for us, since we're not from the area and it took a little digging. They have the reviews to get your interest, and the food lived up to the hype. We came here after a charity MS Walk held at the Iron Pigs stadium in Lehigh Valley, heading north on the way home to Bear Creek. My brother noted how close they are to Penn's Peak, and since I've never been, it looks like we have a great place to chill post-concert when I finally get myself to a show there. The cheesesteaks are a far cry from wiz-wit, but that's how you want it and the chopped pickles bring that hit of acid, not Phish-enduced. The chicken sandwich was enormous but you could still get a solid grip; incredible crunch, flavor that's just more than the hot honey heat, and a refreshing crisp from the lettuce on that buttery bun. The Bourbon Blackberry BBQ pork was on the sweeter side, but why the hell not; the meat was still savory, the cheddar was the right call and the slaw cut through it all.
