I found this place via Yelp search. They indeed provide great, expert service at very reasonable price. The two times I needed some major service, I brought my car to other places and they gave me much, much higher estimates, with lots more work to be done than my car really needed. Tom & his crew explained to me what they need to do and a fair cost upfront. And the final cost was never higher than the original estimate. The 2nd service was my sunroof. Other places told me they need at least a week. Tom fixed it in one day. With a family of three kids on different weekday schedule and both parents working, this was awesome. Beware! all bad reviews about Precise Auto Repair was deleted!!! This is my third time to post my review because my previous one were all deleted: Due to car battery corrosion, the positive battery connection cable head was broken, and Tom/Viet told me that it will cost only $20 to repair it. However after 5~10 minutes he finished the work, but charged me for $50 ($30 labor fee). In addition, he fixed it using the non-copper (Aluminum or Iron) cable head instead of copper connection head, which my car dealer told me it will cause high resistance for the current. In summary, not honest & non professional, better to avoid this autoshop! read more

I saw the positive yelp reviews and decided to go here - plus it is within 5 minutes from where I am. I also called in beforehand to check on cost and time. I didn't know where to park, but walked in and someone was able to assist me. I needed an oil change and a smog. I initially mentioned the oil change only. My car was finished within 30 minutes. Then, I remembered I needed a smog so I asked. I felt bad not mentioning it in the first place, but he took my car back in within no complaints. Thank you, Son. It's a very good place to go with your car. I had two leaks, one in the power steering oil pump and another one at the steering. He recommended the best and cost effective solution, also by counter checking by calling the vendor of after market parts. Tom is very experienced and tries to find the best technical solution for you. Very competent and smart. Very good experience. I will go there again if I have another technical Problem. He has also recommended to exchange an additional small part since he knows from his experience that this part at a Honda Odysee fails normally after a while. He is a very proactive guy. My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to Precise a long time and it never occurred to me until now to leave a review. We actually drive from Blossom valley just to get maintenance done here. My family always takes their cars to him, I always recommend him, and I always come back. Tom is easy to talk to and easy to work with. I was originally concerned with the number of 5-stars from users with very few reviews. (Maybe all like myself -- don't care to review restaurants, so that only leaves car stuff every 1-2 years?) But Precise Auto Repair turned out to be great, and I will likely come back. I had a straightforward, honest experience for my Hyundai Genesis Coupe 60K service. Price was quite reasonable: similar to non-dealership competitors, and 2-3x cheaper than dealership. And they told me exactly what was covered, what was not, what I should get done, what I shouldn't bother with (both for now, and for the lifetime of the car). They also found an obvious oil leak that was likely there for months/years, as evidenced by the amount of dusty oil on nearby surfaces, that the dealership hadn't caught when I had my last 2-3 oil changes there. Since the leak should be covered by powertrain warranty, the techs here recommended doing the leak repair at the dealership for free. Precise Auto Repair is first come first serve, so morning walk-ins are recommended. They were kind enough to squeeze me in at 11.30 ('kinda late'), and the work was done at 4.30. I even came back the next afternoon to get (unrelated) TPMS and engine light diagnostic reads, which they did immediately and for free. Now, this *is* a nondescript hole-in-the-wall, and the techs handle everything including paperwork and front desk. You may have to grab their attention if they are busy working on cars. There may not be shuttle service (didn't ask), or Wifi (didn't check), and there is no waiting area besides an old 2-seater couch. But at least none of those extra 'features' will sneak onto my bill. read more

Tom and his crew do a good job on all three of my vehicles, he lets me bring in my own synthetic oil for oil changes and some minor parts that I purchase on line on amazon like ceramic brake shoes and such. Good price (A lot less than going to the dealer and a lot less hassle) open on Saturday and a quick turnaround on minor maintenance. I have finally found a place that I can trust. I first came here about a year ago for a smog check and an oil change. I was so impressed with their service that I have been coming back. I recently had a problem with my air conditioner and they fixed the problem right away. I came home and a week later my air conditioner went out again. I then brought my car back and they found out that my fan was broken and fixed it for me at no charge. This place is family owned and they treat me like family when I'm there. My wife's 1996, Z28 Camaro was making a loud, irregular, metallic, rattling, sound upon startup last week. This awful sound was coming from beneath the engine. Had to quickly turn off the ignition for fear of more damage. Spoke to Viet in the morning, and had it towed using a flatbed truck to Precise Auto Repair. Since my wife and I really like this car, we were hoping that it was not a broken rod; engine problem because that is what it sounded like. Viet called me in the afternoon, and said he had some good news. The problem was that the starter motor's gear housing (next to the front roll drive) was cracked, and a piece of this metallic housing was loose, and hitting the flywheel gears as it rotated (yikes) during startup. Good news was that nothing was wrong with the motor! We felt like we dodged a bullet on that one! Viet replaced the starter with a brand new, Delco, starter which was slightly more expensive than a rebuilt one, but was worth it to me. Thank you, Viet. You are a keeper. Our experience prompted me to write this positive review. This was on Valentine's day, so my wife was very happy. Thanks. read more

I have had my fingers burnt with other repair shops (Shiv Auto Repair in Sunnyvale), but I have been to Precise Auto Repair about 3 times and each time my experience has been utmost hassle-free, tension-free, reasonable and perfect! Once it was all the belts in my Kia Rio that needed replacing and the other time it was various sensors that had gone bad. I can trust Tom with car of any make and with any job of any complexity. I recently moved to the area from out of state and needed an oil change for my car, I initially went to a Chevy dealership since my car is pretty new, however, I had the worst service there and they charged me $100 just to come in, so a friend recommended Precise Auto Care. I went there today and got everything I needed done, and for a very reasonable price!! Tom was the person who took care of me and was very honest and friendly and let me know costs of everything ahead of time. I took my car in for an oil change and I was in and out pretty fast. I actually expected to pay more. I was surprised. These guys are fair, competent and most important to me is Honest. Good if you are a new customer, otherwise they start you to charge you everything. At first this palce was excellent, they helped out to fix many things and whatnot. I had my EGR replaced last year in Fall (a common problem for my SUV at 86k miles). Then, my check engine light came on this year July. They checked it for free and said that it was my EGR again. I let them clear it since I thought it was just a wrong trigger since it was very hot that day. The light came back on over 5 weeks later again. I wanted to make sure that it is the EGR again, and, in case, replace it. This time they wanted to charge for the check ("beacuse I cleared it for you so many times".) No thanks. I give them 2 stars because one day they fixed my car in the morning and saved my trip to Tahoe and were usually very friendly and helpful. I do not know what happened to them. read more
