I discovered this place mainly because my hair stylist opened up shop here. It's located in Stuyvesant Town - Peter Cooper Village. They shop has three threading chairs and three hair stylist (occupied by an asian woman, hispanic woman and Guayanese woman). Now back to brows... Let me just say this, I'm a tough critic, I look for symmetry and star quality. With that said...the threading job is good, not bad but not great. They can clean you up well, and not chop off all of your brows, like some places. I recommend Seema for the task. Just a note* They also do lashes. read more

I mean, I guess I shouldn't expect so much since it was $6, however, I have had 5 star experiences elsewhere for $8. Firstly, I walk up to the door (at about 3:30pm on a weekday) and it's locked. Both people inside just stared at me, looking confused as to why I was there. Eventually, one of them let me in. I then find out that the woman who actually worked there was in the middle of getting her hair colored... So I'm in the chair watching this woman wipe hair dye off of her forehead just before she starts threading my eyebrows. Bizarre, but I let it go. I have had my eyebrows threaded many time, so I know the routine. This woman took about 3 minutes to finish. (way too quickly) I glanced in the mirror, but I couldn't see because I had tears from the threading and wasn't wearing my glasses. So --my mistake-- I paid and left. When I got home, I spent about 15 minutes tweezing stray hairs that were left behind. If you're going to do such a poor job, then don't unlock the door and take my money. read more

I am so glad I took a chance and walked into Precise Brows a few weeks ago. I am very particular/nervous about my eyebrows, and have been particularly nervous about going to anyone other than my trusty "eyebrow lady" who is based in Florida. I am based in NYC. You can see how that might not always work out. Anywho, Seeme threaded my eyebrows and did a fabulous job. I have fuller eyebrows, and I am always afraid that someone will make them too thin. She made them just right. That was 3 weeks ago, I didn't touch or pluck them (as she instructed me), and I just went back tonight for an appointment. They look even better, because now they are all evened out. Thanks, Seeme! Yelpers, a note on Precise Brows. There are no frills. You go in, get what you need done, and that's about it (although Seeme is very nice to talk to!). I also got a Brazilian Wax done, and there was no ambient, spa-like music playing. This review is difficult for me to write because I have been coming here for years and have been satisfied. However, my last few experiences have left me compelled to write a review. It seems they have recently hired new staff or maybe changed owners. The last several times I have gotten my eyebrows threaded I have not been satisfied with the shape or thoroughness. I came in for lash Lyft and was initially being charged 70 bucks and was able to bring it down to 60. Process was done and took no effect or result. I was very dissatisfied and explained that I should not be charged to be told I did my part by this employee and maybe it's your hair . I didn't want to pay for this type of horrible service but gave her $50 because I am a law abiding citizen but honestly will never go back there again for anything. I have been coming to get my brows , upper lip, sideburns and Brazilian wax here for years . Salima is the one I go to all the time because she does such a great job . She knows I suffer from in grown hair so everytime she treats my skin with tend skin right after . I love her she treats me like a queen everytime I go. I would highly recommend her. went for a bikini wax. got it from groupon... i think it was the first time the lady has ever done one... she kept apologizing because she wouldnt rip the strip off well and would have to re grab and yank again. she kept going "ooouch sorry!" ... she also kept trying to reuse the same strip so the wax from old pulls would get stuck all over her gloves and then her gloves in turn got stuck to me while she was trying to hold and pull or to the paper on the table below. it took forever- took her literally like 45 applications of wax and pulls. Update: 4 years later and I still only go here! They are quick, cheap ($6!!), no credit card minimum and low pressure. They do the best shaping and I always get so many compliments on my brows. Awful service, they never do a 100% job. I went there twice and was disappointed both times - I never even used my third free wax. The employees are careless and preoccupied while doing bikinin waxes and someone even walked into the room, opening the door so the entire waiting area could see. Horrible!!! Never go here. The "professional hair remover" waxed off half my eyebrow then was like the wax is clear I couldn't see where it was. She didn't even apologize! And they still made me pay. I bought a groupon to get a brazilian here a few weeks ago. The shop was very small, but I had a great experience! I chose to pay an extra $5 to use the sugaring wax (for sensitive areas) and that was well worth the money. She did a fantastic job!
