Update - Oct 22, 2025: One of my calls with Precision's manager confirmed exactly what this issue comes down to. He admitted their technician took no notes to justify the recommendations and that refrigerant levels "should have been checked given the system's age." That's not my opinion--it's their own manager's statement. There were later calls too, but instead of addressing that clear admission, the company keeps twisting the story into side arguments that miss the point. Precision now claims they have a "recorded call" where I supposedly said another technician installed all their recommended parts. That's simply not true. No outside technician installed anything from their estimate--the only work performed was adding refrigerant and cleaning the coils, which fixed the issue they skipped, restoring proper performance. Coil cleaning was the only overlap with their estimate. If such a recording really existed, it would have been easy to share with the BBB or the Arizona Attorney General, yet none has ever been produced. Both agencies accept legally obtained recordings under Arizona's one-party-consent law (§13-3005). If transparency were the goal, releasing all recordings would have settled this immediately. The fact that they haven't speaks volumes. Finally, about the refund: Precision keeps saying they "paid me more than I asked for," but that's not the full story. When their manager couldn't explain how a prorate would be calculated, I estimated roughly $500--about what a fair one-year refund should have been on a four-year, $1,770 plan. Instead, they started with the full $1,770, subtracted $549.59 in old discounts from prior years, and called the remainder ($1,220) a "prorate." It looks generous on paper, but it's not based on any standard accounting method--it's a creative way to make the numbers appear higher while double-charging for benefits I'd already paid for. After ten years as a customer, I wish this had ended differently. Appreciate the partial step, but transparency--not spin--would have resolved this months ago. We used Precision on the plumbing side for a plumbing emergency we had on July 4, 2025. We went to use our guest bathroom shower and when we turned the handle the cartridge inside stripped and we couldn't turn the water off. After our normal plumbing company, Second Opinion Plumbing, ghosted us, my partner opted to call Precision as he has use them in the past. They answered their phone and scheduled a tech to come out that day. The tech, Miguel, was extremely nice and professional and was able to diagnose the problem rather quickly, although we already knew what was going on. Before Miguel arrived I had gone to Lowe's and purchased a new cartridge and the puller tool to remove the old cartridge. I attempted to pull the cartridge out myself but was unsuccessful. Miguel was able to complete the work and before he started he sated it would be north of $400 for parts and labor not knowing we had the cartridge. He stated that he would need to make sure that the cartridge we purchased was the correct one. He was able to verify it was correct, so I was expecting the price to come down since we provided the parts but at the end, he charged the full price. Over $400 for labor seems to be a bit ridiculous given he was at our house for less than an hour. I understand it was a holiday and an emergency call so I was expecting the price to be a bit inflated but not that much. I called Precision after Miguel left but no one ever called me back. I'm very busy with work and other life events so I didn't call Precision back regarding this until early August and the woman I spoke with seemed like she didn't care about my issue and was an extremely poor listener. I had to repeat things several times and when she would confirm what I was saying, she was way off. Very disappointing that they hire people that can't get basic things correct. I was promised a call back but no one ever called me back. Instead they called my partner back and told him that there was nothing they could do. All I was asking was for someone to review the pricing to see if it was correct. It seems Miguel "forgot" to adjust the pricing for it to just be for labor but all I was wanting was a breakdown or an explanation/confirmation it was correct. Instead I received poor service yet again so instead we just won't use them ever again. The 2.5 rating on Yelp speaks very loudly. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like this business cares about their reviews and just wants to plaster lies all over television stating they're the top rated company in Phoenix. if I could give zero stars, I would this absolutely horrible experience a budget site with premium are used and say anything to get you to spend more . I was telling you to widen my hair return but was given zero evidence of why in fact I was told I wouldn't understand the number so he wasn't going to waste time telling me about them because that's bull. I left my house a mess. They even left the doors hanging open to the air returns like absolutely zero pride and their work. They wanted to toss the AC in and get out the lead guy. Update: Precision replied to thank me for my feedback and reminded me that they are the number 1-ranked company in the valley. (I'm not sure how we're ranking companies, but it isn't by 50% of their 400+ reviews here being 1-star). Regardless, I don't know if they are looking for a merit badge for their achievement, but I couldn't care less about their "rank" and care more about how they treat customers. Instead of focusing on improving the customer experience, they've emphasized that they documented their calls. I'm not sure if the implication is that my elderly father is being untruthful or if they are just trying to reassure me that they write things down. Regardless, it has also been documented that no such calls ever reached our phone (which they had previously been informed of) Anyway, if they care so much about documenting things so they can point the finger later, leave a voicemail, or use an alternate mode of communication such as SMS, email, etc. It's 2026. We have the technology to get a hold of people with very little effort. All this is to say that, given Precision's inability to communicate, their inclination to point the finger vs focus on improving customer experience means we are pursuing other options. Based on our experience (let alone just the part documented below or by 50%+ of their Yelp reviews), I would recommend you do too. ------------------------------------------------------------ Writing this review on behalf of my elderly father, who has been suffering without A/C during record heat for 4 days now. His experience started off well. Precision promptly scheduled the A/C repair on Thursday, which is a relief for us all, given the heat warnings all weekend. They failed to show up during the scheduled appointment. They then tried to blame him for not answering his calls, which looks to be a very common pattern upon reading other reviews here, as well as complaints with the attorney general and BBB. They were informed that we have no record of receiving their call and that no calls were blocked due to spam, which was checked when they first ghosted him. (Fun fact, you can still see call records in SPAM. So, not a legitimate excuse. He was told they'd call him on Monday to schedule a new appointment. They failed to do that, too, so he ultimately called them. He was then told that the soonest they'd be able to help him is this Thursday (a week from when he was originally scheduled). My father now has to go almost another week in a house with inside temps reaching over 84°. I realize that, per other experiences here, Precision Air and Plumbing will likely continue to blame this issue on my nearly 80-yr old dad. The semantics of "I called you", so it's your problem and not mine, is a complete cop-out. One would assume that Precision has access to text messaging or email in this modern age and would be able to use them when they claim to have already experienced communication challenges once. Regardless, instead of moving past the semantics, owning the resolution, and prioritizing addressing a serious issue with a customer at increased risk, they continue to point the finger and put him back at the end of a growing line. This is not the way to handle customer service and will continue to erode their credibility. I'm honestly not sure why he chose them in the first place. Apparently, he didn't read all the horror stories contributing to owner Erik Bryan's team and their abysmal online reviews. (To have the average sentiment of over 400 customers be 2.5 stars is impressively terrible. The DMV has better reviews. The average proctologist in the area has better reviews.) Hopefully, we will be able to find someone else to do business with before they drop the ball (yet again) and "try to reach him" to reschedule again. Warning: Very Disappointing Experience! I chose Precision Air & Plumbing expecting professionalism, but my experience was nothing but frustration from start to finish. They quoted me over $5,100 for a refrigerant leak repair -- with individual charges that were well above industry averages, including over $140 per pound of R-410A refrigerant and nearly $1,000 for a nitrogen pressure test. Despite multiple email attempts to cancel the job during the FTC cooling-off period, I received no response until I filed a dispute with the bank. The work was never performed, yet the full amount remained charged to my card for 3 plus weeks. I had to call and follow up repeatedly just to get a refund of the overcharge. They also falsely claimed they sent revised invoice, which I never received. Eventually, I hired another licensed HVAC company who did the same job for a significantly lower price, with clear communication, prompt scheduling, and rendered a professional service, which was completely opposite of my experience with Precision. They also showed me that most of the valves that Precision identified as leaking were never actually leaking and there were no replacements necessary, which saved lot of money. Bottom line: this company gave me a high-pressure sales experience, inflated prices, poor communication, and no transparency until I escalated the issue through outside help. Dealing with Precision Air and Plumbing has proven to be one of the biggest headaches I have ever had to deal with. We had a new unit installed in March of this year. When the precision salesperson came out, they made promises that they could cool our home with a zoned solution similar to what we already had in place. Since being installed, we have had nothing but problems with the unit. Since the beginning of June we have had repairmen out almost constantly troubleshooting our unit, all to no avail. Now, we have been told the TXV needs to be replaced, however that was almost two weeks ago with no updates from the company. This is not only unprofessional, it is unacceptable to have charged so much for a solution. Which is ridicules when a customer has a complaint about the job not completed by not cleaning the evap coil when I asked the certified tech to please clean, which he did not know how. Finally a manager called and was suppose to get back with me. Waited 3 days then called again finally got another operator to please connect me with a manager or I'll find another A/C company. She finally connected me with Kimberly and she agreed with me on what should have been done but the tech would not clean it, because he didn't know how to. The real annoying part is it took from Oct 1st to Oct 8th to finish the job. Which the evap coil was dirty. It's March 25th 2025. Precision has been out 3 time within a year. July 2021 Precision replaced my unit. I was recently EAS'd from the Marine Corps and literally googled/Searched Veteran owned air conditioner companies. After several quotes I went with them, after listening to their phone recording talking about how the owner or founder was a Marine Corps veteran I was sold. I was told during the quote I would get a new system and duct work and they would be on and off my roof in only a few hours. Crane dropped the unit on my roof so hard my light fixture on my garage fell off the wall and was being held on by the wiring only. We went outside to confront the team to ensure everything was alright and they had the audacity to say it was like that when they got here, even though we literally came outside because of the loud thump. Almost 8-10 hours later they were done... Biggest regret I have, had in this house by far. Within the first year there was a manufacturer malfunction. Which I was told I should be grateful labor wasn't being charged. They also had to come fix an intake grill that also wasn't properly installed. We called them out for inspection due to poor flow and through our ignorance not realizing we didn't have No new duct work installed when they put the unit in. The reason they gave as I was told my house has metal ductwork built in and wouldn't be possible to install.. even though during the inspection and walk through during the quote the expert said "new duct work would increase the flow to our addition" which was one of our biggest concerns. Several other visits include Check and found bad capacitor 40/10 and blower door insulation came off suck onto blower Replaced 40 and 10 capacitor and reglued insulation to blower panel. EVAPORATOR COIL CLEANING Recently overload protection installed and blower motor "circuit board" replaced (not related to the blower door insulation) so they say. All within 4 years. The most recent technician also told my wife that new blower motors are wear and tear items. They're like tires on a car and it happens all the time here in Arizona. Lived in 2 prior homes. None of which ever need any maintenance outside of coil cleaning and that was in a home-with 20+ years the same unit and the the second 8 years and counting on the same unit with no repairs outside of a Schrader valve in Yuma, Az. Unbelievable. Follow up. "Arrived at customer's home for no cooling inspection upon testing the system I realized that the compressor voltage regulator was faulty. After informing customer about current issue, it was expressed that he did not want to go through with the estimate provided. Upon leaving, I left unit disconnect in off position to prevent wear on other components, in the meantime." 1 month from the original diagnosis the unit shut off and even though it's the same symptoms as a month ago now it's something different. No it was not explained to us at the time of install. It was explained to us after the installation was already completed. If this was true not true, why was it not told to us prior too or during the walk-through inspection and initial quote? It was expressed during the quote this was what and why we went with your company. So do you not guarantee your initial quotes or inspections?? Updated 3/27/25 Independent contractor and secondary company also came through and much different than your technician that came out yesterday that suggested we top off refrigerant, and bypass the second stage. It was found that the main capacitor was wired incorrectly, causing an extra load on it. NO refrigerant required. No additional gimmick. AC is on and running in under 30 minutes with a current at the vent temperature blowing out is 49.8°. No loud clicking when going from first stage to second stage like previously experienced over the past three years. WOW. read more

I called Precision to have some work done on my AC, after a tech had been out approximately 1 1/2 weeks prior. I then went through a dept. that had me sign the contract and pay half of the final bill upfront. I was then told that the scheduling department would contact me to set a date and time for a tech to come out for the service. I spoke to the office person that it was imperative that I be scheduled by Tuesday of next week, as I was leaving the state for approx 6 weeks and needed this completed by then. I was assured that I would receive a call to schedule the following day. It is now 5 pm the following day and no call. I have been using precision air for over 13 years and have given them thousands of dollars over the years on multiple air conditioning units. Not too sure what is going on within the company, but their practices have become more deceptive and they are really going downhill as a company ...Absolutely frustrating. These negative reviews are all accurate. Lots of bait and switch happening. Just had a service guy come over several weeks ago as part of my routine maintenance plan. He was a decent guy and I felt like he was pretty honest. I have an older AC unit upstairs because replacing it isn't an option right now he recommended a coil cleaning service for our air handlers. After texting me multiple times throughout the day when I told him I needed to think about it and him pulling out the spiel of "appointments are booking up fast and it'll be hard for you to get an appointment if you wait any longer". Told him we would go with cleaning of the two units. He sent over the estimate and told me to sign in and then call him back with payment. Which I thought was weird to be paying for a service that I haven't even received yet, but I reluctantly paid for half upfront. When I reviewed the estimate, it was mentioning about duct work and I thought that was part of the package as I was paying nearly $1000 for the two units to be cleaned. We made the service appointment. It was like pulling teeth to try to get a window of time as they only give you a 9hr, 10 to 7 window which I think is highly ridiculous. After calling the company three times I finally get notification that a technician was coming over, which was somebody completely different than who did the initial service call which I thought was odd because it sounded like he was going to be coming over as the "appointment fit in his schedule" Super nice guys who actually walked me through the air duct cleaning process, and when I asked them about the air handler being cleaned their response was, " oh, that is a completely different service that you're gonna have to call and schedule". That was the only service that I wanted!!!! Call the office asking for a refund because I didn't get the service and I got the runaround of somebody will call you back or you'll have to contact the technician who booked the appointment. By this time, I was pissed and actually called my credit card company to have them dispute the transaction as I was getting no help. Send a message to the technician to give me a call back, to cancel the service, and refund my money. He calls me back at the end of the day and basically says "oh was there a problem". I said I was unhappy as I got the wrong service scheduled and it wasn't what we talked about and I don't have any more time to takeoff to be waiting around for technicians and I didn't know when I would be ready for another appointment so I said, cancel everything and refund my money. He had the audacity to ask if I wanted estimate for the coil cleaning. Are you kidding me!!! That was what we were supposed to do in the first place and I have all the text messages to prove it. Funny part is he did the estimate and it was nearly $300+less than the air duct cleanings. So now I see how this was going to play out. They schedule something different than what you want and do you into thinking it's going solve the problem then you have to schedule another appointment and have somebody else come out to do the service that you actually wanted and wind up paying double. Early September, Precision came to our third floor condo to clear out a blockage in our master bath. After using a snake, water jetting and finally using a chain knocker, the plumbers cleared the line. However, the plumbers lied about valves in the line which prevented them from pushing the blockage into our garage sewer lines. They only pushed the blockage below our unit. Consequently, the plumbers caused a back up into our second floor neighbors, which caused her to get a plumber. Her plumber pushed the blockage all the way to the garage and spared the first floor resident of any problems. As good neighbors, we reimbursed her. Precision will not accept responsibility and will not credit us the expense of her plumber. Precision's motto is "Profits over People". There are many plumbing companies. Do yourself a favor. They did our a/c over a year ago and they were scheduled to come by next week for our yearly up sell session. Well, our water home filtration system is on it's, last legs so we called them. Almost $6000 for the nice gentleman to pull out his tiny computer, "sign here, and here, and here, and now your credit card number?" No explanations, contract will be sent to your email, he said. Two hours later wifey and I decided that was just way too much. I know, I know, my ignorance cost me almost 1200 dollars for they're "cancelation policy" I was unaware of. When I spoke to the very important plumbing manager to even try to negotiate a reasonable settlement, he still tried to upsell me on an additional service we included in the "contract". Save Yourself the Misery - Avoid Precision Air & Plumbing HVAC! Absolute nightmare experience! My AC unit, installed by Precision Air less than two years ago, went kaput. Here's why you should RUN, not walk, from this company: -Faulty Equipment & Warranty Woes: The unit they sold me crapped out in under 2 years! The Evaporator coil is leaking coolant! When I called for warranty service, they gave me the runaround. It's the manufacturer's defect, not their responsibility. Their warranties are only good for decoration, not actual repairs. -Price Gouging: Apparently, Precision Air has special gold-plated inventory. They charged an outrageous $370 just for a small tube of leak-detection UV dye! -Customer Service? More Like Customer Neglect! Reaching their "Manager" is like trying to find a unicorn. He dodges calls like Neo in the Matrix, and even if you manage to snag him, forget any help; he's too busy in the field and will have to call you back the next day at his desk and leave you a voicemail 2 minutes before he leaves the office at 4:58PM! -Post-Sale Support? Non-Existent! Once they install your system, their interest vanishes faster than a snowflake in July. Loyalty? Forget about it - they only care about squeezing every dollar out of you. Three weeks without AC, a broken air handler unit, and a manager who plays phone tag - that's the Precision Air & Plumbing experience. There are far better, more honest HVAC companies out there. We had a service request Appx 2 weeks ago, when they got there, all they did was try to sell us a new system. They installed a new system for us Appx 9 years ago. They did suggest a leak detection because we were low on Freon. However, that was a waste of money, $500, as where they said a leak was, there was no leak there. We got frustrated and called a different company. When that company came out, they refilled the Freon, used stop leak and have no issues currently. Fixed in one day. Very helpful. When we tried to call the office of Precision, they would not let us talk to a manager to go over the issue we felt we had with them and their service. We have been using Precision for 14 years. Our AC went out at the end of July in the middle of the afternoon. I called Precision to let them know of the issue, and we were fortunate that a tech was able to get out very quickly. Loren and Jordan were exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and were able to diagnose the problem and got it restored quickly. Ironically, I already had them booked to come out to do maintenance on the unit a couple of weeks from now. After they fixed the problem, they went ahead and did the tune-up while they were here. It took them till 10pm, but they never complained about being here so late on a Friday night, or tried to rush through it. I would have Loren and/or Jordan back out here in a heartbeat should we have future issues. It is a 15-year-old unit, so we know we are on borrowed time with it. They told us, however, that it is running as it should, and as long as we keep it maintained, we could still get a few years of life out of it. I have used this company for both major plumbing and AC issues over the years, and have always been super happy with the service! The customer service is not great. We understand that everyone in the Arizona heat has issues with their AC and there are some homes that have a higher emergency level. Our home for up to 94 degrees and we were unable to get a technician out till the next evening. We had to get hotel accommodations, fine. The tech shows up and he is very professional and respectful. Unfortunately, the AC goes out again a day and a half later. I had signed us up for the membership. They can't get anyone out to my house till another business day, so this is now our second hotel stay this week. We had paid over 1800 for our service. And the membership. While calling customer service you will randomly get one polite person. I had to call multiple times to update the company on who will be at the home to sign and other info that they asked me to provide. They picked up and hung up. I call back again. A man answers. Puts me on hold and hangs up phone. I call back again and the same man answers. We are people with kids in 110 degree heat with no AC. I know it might be annoying for the same name to pop up on your caller ID, but we called because we needed help. Not to annoy anyone. Some customer service would go a long way. read more

Once again, the a/c on one side of my house is not working again. Two Trane units were installed in June of 2024, and since that time, there's just been one issue after another. They just had a rep here a couple weeks ago for a 6-month checkup and everything was said to be fine. The bes part is that they sold me "Priority Scheduling" that in their paperwork says I will have "Guaranteed Emergency Service in 24-hours or less". This is Monday evening and I was just told no one can come out until Wednesday to check the latest problem. Stay away from this business!! It is a total clown show from installation on! HVAC failed last Saturday. Been a week. They cancelled their own appt three times. Home has been 95 the entire time. Unlivable. No support of immediate help. Sent a tech out once who didn't even know how to work on a unit they installed. So that was a huge waste of time as well. Unit is less than two years old. They installed it and aren't supporting it. Richie Buffington was the Tech that took care of our System & we couldn't be more satisfied with the results. He was Thorough & Professional. I had previously to have service on my air conditioner and was happy with them. I even paid $200 one year discount service and repair. When my air conditioning was going out in June 2025, I called Precision to give me a bid. The individual that showed up by the name of Mike showed up. he supposedly was a supervisor. He looked at my system and took the time to explain what I needed. But then he said he didn't think he could get the right equipment might take six weeks. He said he was going to go to his truck and call some places to see if they had the wreck air conditioner that my older needed. He sat in his truck for 2 1/2 hours and then I went and knocked on his window to see what was taking so long. He came back into my house and said that he didn't think he could find the what I needed. He said he would get back with me within 24 hours. I never heard from him so I called him after two business days and he said he was still looking for the right equipment. He said he was going to meet with his supervisor and they were going to put their heads together to figure out something. He said I will give you a call the next day. Again, I did not hear from him and when I did get hold of him after about four business days, he was very rude. He acted like I was bothering him. He said that he was get with his general manager and they were going to work out a plan. Again, I waited days and called and again he was very rude. I needed my air conditioning replaced. Now I'm out $200 with a plan that I will never use with them. They say they are the number one service provider in Arizona. Every time I see the advertisement it makes me angry that they treated me this way. And that I paid the $200. Looking at their advertisement on TV and the-awards the dates on the awards happen to be 2014 and 2015. I don't think they have the same customer service now. Maybe they're too big for their britches to do a $9000 job for me. I will not use them and quite frankly will let people know how I was treated as a customer. Correction as a preferred customer. In 2018, Dec, I purchased a brand new Goodman 4T AC unit and Precision installed it in my rental house, this AC unit comes with a 10 year warranty. 6/12/2024, my tenant reported that the air was not cool and the temperature was over 85 at noon, I started making phone calls to Precision and called them about 10 times thru out the day, 5 people answered the call, the first lady asked us to turn off the AC for 1 hour then turned it back on, but did not work, other people said 'sorry, we have no tech until tomorrow'. I explained to them it is a rental house and tenants are about 60 and the temperature was about 95 at 9pm, they kept apologizing and kept saying there are only 6 techs, and I was scheduled on 6/13/2024 between 10 am to 7pm. One lady named Dion who answered the call was rude to me, I explained to her the urgency and asked her if "Kodie Burdick" still works here, because 6.5 years ago, he was the contact for the installation and took care of me, Dion answered: 'why does it matter? I dont know if he works here, why you did not call us when it was 95 degree? My job is to answer the calls and you are wasting my time because others are waiting to call in, bla bla bla....' even though I did call so many times! The issue was caused by the compressor wires were rubbing around the refringent copper line, and it caused a hole on the line so all the freon was leaked, tech agreed that it is a goodman manufacture issue, as a customer, I felt so disappointed when the manufacture or previous installer did a bad job, and now I had to pay $1900 to fix it. ( The cost was actually over $3,000, but I was begging the tech to talk to the manager and gave me some discount and they did.) 2 stars because: 1. Dion was rude to me; 2. Really disappointed that Precision doesn't have enough techs to handle the work load, I had to suffer to call other AC companies to seek help, tenant ended up finding another AC company to diagnostic on 6/12 night, so i had to pay extra $, but this tech was nice to tell me to wait for precision on the following day because they did the original installation, and hopefully I could get some discount out of it. Update: After I read the owner's response, I changed it from 2 stars to 1 star, I felt like the owner did not take my advise seriously, and just tried to cover his employee. For sure I called them much sooner than "4:11 pm" on 6/12, my first call to them was around 2:35 pm. read more

I paid for over a decade of maintenance contracts. The company has refused to do business with me and refused to refund my maintenance contract payments. They have open claims with BBB and attorney general. Do your research! I have been robbed for thousands of dollars and their response to the BBB was a prorated amt of $100 after paying for a 10 yr contract June 2020 in the amt of $1k and prior to their $2k all towards a new unit when the time comes and they refuse to provide service or a copy of the contracts. They actually told the BBB this is "slander" and i did not answer their calls while i was out of town as if they are my Customer. read more

Called to make an appointment for estimate for NEW unit. Was told someone could come out the next wednesday between 10 am and 7 pm. Asked why 9 hour gap and was told they would call before coming out. That meant that I would have to stay at home all that day waiting for them. No thanks, went with another company after getting 5 bids all coming out within a two hour gap. In this case the Precision Decision was made for me! read more

Some of their techs are good but last year the tech didn't do the work properly so I had to again spend a lot to try to keep my older air conditioner alive. Also parts/supplies are hugely marked up. I called a smaller company and could have saved 30-40% . Their techs get paid commission and it shows. Definitely recommend getting several bids before going with this company. read more
