I went to a Honda dealer for the usual check-up and the guy at Honda said i need to change my 2 front struts and right rear shock absorber and transmission fluid flush. I found him via yelp and I am forever going to him for all my car woes. He has fabulous communication skills and contacted me to let me know what was going on, updated me on when I would be getting my car back, and checked in after I picked my car up to see how things are going. Joe is a great mechanic. I took my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria to his shop today and I was very glad to have chosen this place for my maintenance. Joe was very kind, listened carefully to all of my concerns, and was happy to explain what he had done on the car and what kind of maintenance he should do. I had not done any maintenance on the vehicle since I bought it a year ago, so there were some things that needed to be done, but Joe was very professional. He called me before he was going to do anything extra and he really checked everything on the vehicle (also in the interior ... checked the AC, the lights, everything ...). He even filled up the washer fluid for me (which I knew was low, but did not say to check if he would notice / fill it up ... I would've filled it up myself otherwise) without extra cost. I really like how Joe cleans the engine parts he changed / flushed, so you can really see (where) he worked and can see the fluids are new. Like the reviewer before me, I was a bit surprised about the labor cost, but also about the low cost for parts. While I can only speculate to the reason of this based on my knowledge of other business, I guess (but do not know) that this is how they keep the costs lower: the customer does not pay taxes on labor! But this is just speculation, of course. Joe is very up front and honest about prices, however, so you will know the price before he does his work. Too bad, I am limited to 5 stars, Joseph deserves 100 stars. I was referred to him by a friend who said go to him, he will take great care of you. i pulled in, walked up he helped me right away. I had a mirror that some misfit hit and taken off as he was making a left turn. It wasn't something I wanted to handle. Joseph said I can have it done by Wednesday. (this was Monday mid morning.) I received a voicemail Monday night saying its all done, come tomorrow. I pulled in Tuesday morning at 8:30 (when he opened) He put it on and bam, it was all fixed. I left there at 8:45. What was he doing for 15 minutes? He was putting my mirror back on, and I scrapped my car on a pole the night the misfit hit me . I showed him that and said, what do you think? In the 15 minutes not only was my mirror fix,but he took the time to clean my car with magic stuff he had,to make it all nice and clean. I had thought i would have to have it repainted ( No charge). He is really really a cool guy. I highly recommend him for everything, he is very reasonable and I left there smiling. Who leaves a mechanic smiling? Joe diagnosed a problem on my car (broken thermostat) and repair/replace it on the same day after my dealership (Galpin Honda) said they would charge $150 for a diagnostics fee but still might not be able to detect the problem. Joe's prices seemed reasonable given the quality of attention and he came across as a genuinely honest man who enjoys the challenge of figuring out how to fix your car. Joe has worked on two of my vehicles for the past 8 years. When I first found Precision Auto Clinic, I was very skeptical and hesitant because I was tired of dealing with places that overcharged for shoddy jobs,bare minimum customer service, and basically a serious lack of intergrety. Also, I am a woman that knows her vehicle, and does not just drive around aimlessly until something surprisingly goes wrong. I know my stuff. Therefore, when I would go into other shops and speak with the mechanics and have questions that showed I knew more about my car than just the steering wheel, they could not BS me but I was seen as "intrusive." Do not get me wrong, I certainly have a respect for mechanics working on my vehicle, so I respect their space and judgement. But there is definitely a double standard when those same mechanics would no problems carrying in-depth conversations with the male customers with questions. Back to Precision, Joe serviced my vehicle with integrety, and a respect for his customers whether they are male or female. He wants you to be educated on your vehicle. He does the job that needs to be done and does not try to upsell you on a more expensive product if it is not necessary for your vehicle. In addition, he can service basically everything on you vehicle, and if not, he is more than willing to direct you to the right person for the job. This was my first time taking my car here. The Honda dealer in the Valley told me that I needed front brakes, so I called around and found Precision Auto and spoke to Joe. Joe took a look at my car and told me that I had 80% of my front brakes and that I didn't need them. What a relief!!! It was really nice to see a honest mechanic. First he remembered me and some the concerns related to my car from last visit. I was very impressed with his memory despite having hundreds of customers.
