I sprained my lower back from coughing too much and it sent me to the ER. I ended up stuck in bed for 3-4 days afterwards and then just hobbled around for another week with limited mobility and lots of pain. I couldn't pick up anything of weight without severe pain. First professional massage I've ever gotten, I decided last minute as I had nothing else to do, and set an appointment the night of. Jesus scheduled me in practically within closing time which was really nice. I walked in not knowing what to expect. He was understanding with that and helpful throughout the experience altogether. I want to write a review for this place because I received help for my neck pain from an old injury which happened in a car accident. First of all I realize that to treat a neck is in itself very finicky and not every therapist can do it well. I loved the attention to detail and customer oriented massage therapy rather than just standardized one size fits all. The first thing my therapist does every session, she asks me what are we working on today. My therapist, Dana has amazing skills and golden hands. She has very gentle touch, but also firm enough to work out those knots and twists in my muscle. She pays attention when some areas are painful and stops the pressure if ask to hold on. So far I got five or six sessions altogether, and every time it feels like I am getting a toon up for my body. My neck injury is more than 10 years old and Dana is getting it better every time. She is very professional and tactful, can sense the needs of the customer and has amazing skills for the massage. I also love that they have massage bundles and I can purchase it as a gift for my family. Overall, I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is in pain from injuries or just wants a relaxation massage session. Since I moved to Portland in 2019 I struggled to find a knowledgeable massage therapist. Visits to Zama, my chiropractor's therapist and the like always left me feeling like I wasted money. My back and neck issues are serious and the degeneration over the past twenty plus years has made it necessary to have regular massage. Most places/practitioners have a basic grasp of human musculature, nerves and the skeleton. Brandon, the owner of Precision, was a teacher. What is that old saying? "If you can teach it, you know it." This is the essence of my experience at Precision. When I first called, I did so because other reviews relayed similar conditions and complete satisfaction. I expressed my frustration with the general body of therapists I had tried in the Portland area and was given a guarantee that if I was dissatisfied, I would get a refund. If THAT isn't standing behind your practice and confidence in your therapists, I don't know what is! Brandon was the individual I began seeing. Almost immediately I began to have relief from some of the worse of my chronic pain. Further, my chiropractor tweaked my nerves between my shoulder blades- I genuinely though I was having a heart attack the chest pain was so severe. My chiropractor didn't communicate what happened (ie what nerve was impacted by the adjustment) and his suggestion of "gentle manipulation" resulted in even more terrible pain. I sent a message to Brandon to convey what had happened and he sent me a link, which described and diagnosed precisely what had happened during adjustment. When I returned to my chiropractor a couple weeks later, when the pain finally subsided, he forgot he had hurt me. VERY BAD FORM as a provider. However, upon returning to Brandon, he asked how the condition had progressed, where I was at, what- if anything- I wanted him to avoid or focus on, and he displayed a true care, concern, knowledge and treatment I wish all providers displayed. A friend saw Dana when she visited from out of town and my friend said "that was the first massage where I felt like they really knew what they were doing." Truly a remarkable and knowledgeable team of massage therapists who are capable of relaxation massage, but skilled enough to provide all forms of massage based on the needs of their clients. I cannot imagin visiting any other massage therapist in the area. If you have chronic pain and need a knowledgeable, well-trained therapist, Precision should be your go-to. It's truly the best massage therapy I have ever had since my car accident over twenty years ago (and I've seen many massage therapists over the years- more than are countable). Give them a try. I had a massage from Brandon this past Saturday, and let me tell you... it's one of the best I've ever had. I found Precision Healing through research online, and saw that he had incredible reviews. I haven't had the opportunity to get a good, therapeutic massage in a few years, so was really hoping the session would hit the spots I need and address some of the pain and tightness I experience. Brandon is VERY easy to sit down and converse with, and offers insight into what treatments he will use on you and why. It's very much tailored to your individual needs. After giving him a brief injury and health history and sharing my goals and expectations for the treatment, he went to work. And boy, did he go to work. I felt like a new person for the first 24 hours after the session, and 3 days later, still feel incredibly relaxed and MUCH less tight and tense than I did before I went in. I searched high and low for a post surgical Lymphatic drainage massage (specifically after liposuction/bbl) and Brandon did not disappoint. Okay, so I am one of the Groupon-ers that purchased a 3-60 minute per session massage package and boy am I glad that I did! I almost thought after looking at the reviews that it was too good to be true for a place to have 5 stars but after seeing Dana twice now I know why! The place is located in one of the older victorian style buildings right across from MAC and next to the doggy boutique store. You go up the stairs and the door for the massage room is right at the top. (I accidentally walked in my first session because I didn't realize it was a just a single room! Both massages so far I've asked for more of a sports massage (deep tissue) because I am a CPT and have been reading up how important myofascial release is for growing, strengthening and developing your muscles. Dana was super friendly from the start and was very confident and her knowledge and skills. Although deep tissue massage isn't the most comfortable, I knew that she was fixing a lot of displaced and tight muscles that I had been neglecting. The room is clean, comfortable and she played some calming music! Also, its been so chilly (ok FREEZING) here in Portland and the bed has a bed warmer on it which was oooh so perfect for relaxing and thawing out my muscles ha! I went to see Brandon because I had a kink in my neck. His massage room is at the top of an old remodeled house across the street from Starbucks in the heart of the NW 23rd scene. That block is very popular on a sunny evening, but I was able to park a block away by The Ram's Head. I liked the room because it felt less contrived than a place like Dosha. I could hear the sound of the city down below because the windows were open. It was calming to me, and the décor is warm and comfortable. I think Brandon specializes in healing injuries, but I would go back for a general stress-relieving massage. I told him about my neck and upper-back problem, and he worked on that for most of the time. As far as I could tell, he did an excellent job. I'm glad I went to him because I needed the focused attention on those muscles, and now I can look over my shoulder again. When he was done, he gave me tips to avoid straining my muscles. He's also just a friendly, laidback, personable guy, so I recommend him, especially to people who don't need any foofiness, just pain relief. The only fault I could find is the Asian painting on the wall was hung upside-down, but I guess nobody notices that. Next time I'll bring money for a tip (oops!), and I'll leave time hang out in the neighborhood afterward. read more

I'm a lifelong martial artist who competes in submission grappling, and I've seen over 30 different massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and physical / rehabilitative therapists. The right amount of pressure, focus on all the right areas I ask for--and if for some reason something's not right, let her know, and she'll change things up for you. I was good for 4 days after my last session, but knots and pain started creeping back in- it's been years of tension buildup in my body and it is going to take some work to get the muscle memory to forget I've been a tense mess. knots galore; not as bad as last time, but again I left feeling so light and free from pain and tension. Dana is the real deal. I've never had work done that's been so thorough and 'correct' (I am a massage envy escapee). If you are tense, have chronic issues, or need a good hour of total decompression, definitely go see Dana. I have not had a lot of massages in my life, but I have had enough to know when one is special. Diane asked the right questions, listened to the answers, then got the massage just right. I work on computers all day, so i tend to carry my tension in my neck, shoulder and back. She started with the hard work of working out the knots, then gave me the most relaxing massage I have ever experienced. Seriously, I did that thing where you snore/snort yourself awake. Twice. When I do talk myself into some form of exercise, it is usually either running or the elliptical. I have found lately that the connector muscles and tendons in my calves, feet and ankles have been very tight as a result. I told her about my poor non-ergo setup at work, plus my long hours of sitting around and typing away, and then she got to work. The space is beautiful. A very lovely craftsman home converted into massage rooms. I saw Lindsay for an hour neuromuscular massage for my aching and very tight low back, hips, and hamstrings. Lindsay is an excellent massage therapist. Her hands get insanely warm within minutes. As a former LMT, I am quite picky. Within the short hour, she managed to ease my muscles and intuitively went for area that I knew were tight, but didn't mention due to time constraints. At the very end, she went to my jaw, where I have persistent TMJ. So that was lovely! My only critique is that the room was rather chilly. There was a space heater running. But it was still quite cold. There was only a top sheet on the table. When I asked for a blanket, she ran out of the room quickly and brought one. When she placed the bolster under my feet (while I was in the prone position), she placed the bolster directly under my feet rather than under the bottom sheet. The bolster was freezing! I acclimated with time. But Brrrrr! LOL. Otherwise, I will definitely be back. read more

I had a massage booked for last Saturday. You know how when you think something is at a certain time, you write it down at that time, but it's the wrong time, you just keep going about everything as if you have the right time? Well, I had it in my head that my appointment was at 3, but it was actually at 2. I was in the area, but since I had it in my head it was at 3, I didn't show up until 2:45. When I arrived, I was asked if I got a message about the appointment. No, I got nothing, no email, text message or phone call asking about me being late. I was really bummed with myself over having the time wrong. Of course, this was my fault, but I can't believe they made no attempt to contact me. I would have been there as soon as I received word if they had tried.
